- This video is about how Nigerians are still moving to Nigeria even now. Iveoma chats with Samson Nwakanma, founder of The Returnees, Uriel Oputa, Media Personality/Entrepreneur, and Yemmie Lawal, founder of Yemmie Chocolate.
Nigerians are still moving home to invest in the country. To chase their Nigerian dreams. They are invested in the outcome and willing to sink time, money, energy, and hope into Nigeria, into their businesses and careers.
It’s inspiring that they acted on the pull they feel to Nigeria to act as investors in the country. Recently, we attended a Returnees focused networking event in Lagos and chatted with some Nigerian returnees.

Nigerians are still moving home! Chasing their Nigerian dreams! Are you planning on moving to Nigeria to invest into the country?
Yes I am, keep up your good work lady, you are a world of inspiration to countless number of people out here.
YES! Moving back soon (after 22 years)!
I am moving to Nigeria AND bringing my coins to invest even more
This is nice to hear Stephanie 👌
@@IveomaMedia lots of work to do to make it happen, but it's coming together!
After working and achieving in Obodo Oyibo the next chapter is for pikin to have an exit plan. Having residual income from “The Abroad” will go a long way in 9ja. Great content!!!
Residual income from the abroad will definitely go far in Naija!
Wise words. Residual, passive income in £ or $ is key at this time. Perhaps from a property you’re collecting rent on, plus of course properties appreciate in value too. 😊
@@michaelfarmhand that’s the secret our people need to understand. Most 9ja citizens & citizens of other African countries work hard in “The Abroad “. When we understand the business side of rental property ownership in Obodo Oyibo, retirement will not be an issue in 9ja. It makes no sense for pikin to be working from early 20s up till 70s in foreign land without plans to retire or semi-retire & enjoy. Haba!!’
We coming. West we are leaving
You are doing a good job. People may not notice but this is putting Nigeria in a positive light for FDIs and diasporan investment. I will sub now.
It was nice to see different talk about why they returned back to Nigeria and hear all the different perspectives. Great video and interviews!!🤗
Glad you enjoyed it!
I still wanna move & invest regardless the unrest currently going on
It's particularly strange that there's little mention of moves into the agricultural space, tbh.
Gharri, coco yam, peppers, tomato, etc. Could even look at more different fruits (mango, apples, guava, ube, etc).
Tech is great, but there are easier opportunities that can be successful in the country.
Most Nigerians in the diaspora are afraid of the insecurity in the country that is why many have not made the move.
A couple of years ago, people were afraid to move back for another reason. Many who move away will not move back under any circumstances but a number will always look for a connection to home.
Interesting. I don’t know anyone moving from the US back to Nigeria for good. Looks like it is mostly from the UK to Nigeria. Anyway, as long as they have a good plan, have enough money saved up and the right connections, they will be fine.
There is a small number of Americans who moved to Nigeria. Most of the people moving to Nigeria were based somewhere in Europe.
I moved from the USA to Nigeria for good
Yes because the opportunities are more in the US than the UK. Also US favors more engineering / comp science industries which historically hire minorities (Asians, Nigerians, etc )
No body forcing anyone to move home but let me remind you, that I love my country, though I'm not staying there right now, but it better to stay where u can get peace of mind.
I need to move out, so that I can move back in and have the title of returnee.
🤣😂🤣😂
Better look for something to do in Nigeria, for there are millions of Nigerians stranded abroad.

Lol I know right @afam
@@IveomaMedia sounds great, for many Nigerians don't know there are more opportunities in Nigeria than the so called abroad they are running to and become second class citizens with racism.
Thank you Iveoma for the effort you put into this video, editing, interviewing etc. I really needed to this right at this time because my heart is yearning to come back home. I did it before but wasn’t financially prepared. But now I feel I am ready. You give me courage sis ❤️
So happy to hear this!! Well you learned a lot of lessons moving back before. This time you will take all the knowledge of your previous attempt and your next time you will win!!
East or West, home is the best!☺️
Home is best!
@@IveomaMedia yep
I wish them well, I and my children are very okay here
Good to hear this!!
Nice to know this is happening. Nigerians in the diaspora going back.
It is amazing to document what’s happening.
Is there any Haitians American live in Nigeria ?
Even the chocolate idea is a good one; since, with some investment, you can potentially be in position to take a commodity product and increase its value in country with some production
Hey Queen Iveoma
👋🏿 Hello 👋🏿
Impressive, thanks for sharing.
Hi Iveoma. I had no idea this group existed. How do I take part in one of these events? I see their Facebook page is inactive.
Message them on IG, ask to join WhatsApp group. They are very active online and off especially now in December.
Hi. Please what’s their IG handle ?
Smart people. Great content @Iveoma
Thank you 😊
Great presentation. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Please what is the website of the payroll service?
This is really good
We agree ✅
I miss the vlogs and how-to’s 😢
Awww. However entire channel is a How To do x, y, z in Nigeria.
Iveoma I Love your content
Thank you so much Asuquo!!
We really appreciate this
Glad to hear it!
Great
I dare returnees with foreign passport to give it up by renouncing it and holding on only to their Nigerian Passport.
Why??
Nigerians: Goes outdoors... pulls up mask
Same Nigerians: Goes inside crowded room. Pulls mask down. bruh...🤷🏾♀️
**Shout out to Yemmies Chocolate though*** Love it!
😂 Yemmie Chocolate is a very tasty brand!
I was live at this event. Thanks for the video iveoma
Glad to see your comment Uyi! It was very nice meeting you!!
@@IveomaMedia same here dear
Not many people are moving back. I lived in the state of Maryland, I don't know anyone that has moved back . I have been here 40 years and not going back, forget it. I will only visit.
Same here. I love visiting and having my family visit, but I can’t imagine moving back for good. Too many great opportunities here to pass up and you get paid in $$$ that places you in a better financial footing and makes it possible to give back.
@David Lloyd : You are jealous, that is it. I am sure that if you are given a visa today, you will move out of that place quick. Don't worry, just pray. God is still alive to help you from your conditions. I am happy here and it is home for me.
You are on your own people are investing first then see what is going on and that is the determinant....
Life is life; if you've lived a proper life, and invested your money well, living is living.
Build your house, have your investments sustain you in the country, retire early abroad (with pensions, etc), and live a life.
No one wants to work forever
Just because you don’t know anyone that have moved does not mean some Nigerians are not moving back. You with short sightedness.
Poor audio
Is it your audio. Go get yours
Am giving them few years to tell us their new story, and see how secured they are in this Nigeria. Nigerian dream🤣😂 is good to laugh sometimes. Second hunger riddle country in the world, am searching for were are those dream.
Everyone in this video has lived in Nigeria for several years. Iveoma is the only fresh one (moved back Dec 2019). We spoke to several people at the event that have been back for 5-11 years…
The so called hunger ridden country is fetching a couple people some mega bucks. It's naive thinking Nigeria is all bad.
Find what works for you -abroad or at home, do it and be happy. Leave people and their choices alone. If these ones have decided to return and stay, let them be.
@@IveomaMedia not everyone in the video has lived in Nigeria for several years. I’m fact, I know at least one of them still lives abroad. They holiday in Nigeria though but they don’t live there.
