- I try to clean, grease, and sharpen the blades on my Ferris 700Z zero turn mower every 6 weeks or so in the summer.

Really nice video. Good to see someone taking care of their equipment.
Thank you friend. I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching.
Do you set the brake when you lift it?
Yes. There’s an E brake on all those mowers.
Why did you keep it running when spraying? Is that something you should do? Im asking because I got a John Deer ztrack stuck in a nasty mud bog. I was afraid I was going to get stuck. It's covered in mud and didn't have time to pressure wash it. So thats what I'll be doing tomorrow.
My friend, that video was a couple of years ago and don’t remember. l don’t think l dld. ls lt the engine from the pressure washer you’re hearing?
@@4AcresandaFarmhouse I was gonna say, that was the power washer engine he's hearing.
That was the power washer you heard running
@@elboogie3373 Oh.. ok. Thanks.
@@regulusmine2336 No prob
nice mower
Thanks.
Should you disconnect the battery before going under carriage?
Why’s that? lf that makes you feel comfortable, go for lt.
I can never keep grass from getting jammed under those pulley guards you took off. So I run with out them.
Whoa!! Be careful friend. My oldest daughter mows most of the yard for me, so I can’t do that. Even though they disengage when I get off the seat, that’s asking for trouble. It is a pain but it’s not that bad. Good luck!! Thanks for watching
After everytime you mow before you load onto trailer or back into the garage, whatever your case may be.
Blow the mower off with a leaf blower before putting away. I just recently took them off my ZTXL just to air close it all out and then put them back on. But mainly I'll lower the deck to it's lowest setting and then use my backpack blower to blow it off before loading it back onto the trailer. Should help ya
Drill a hole in the corners of the pulley guard and blast some compressed air in there after every mow.
@@Brindle_Boxer thanks will try that
Is it ok to jack up a zero turn on the rim of the mower deck with a car jack?
It’s ok if it works. Thanks for watching!!
Did you balance those blades?
xringkiller 😂 Yep...perfect
very lovely ending
Ouch! Angle grinder on your tempered steel blades😕
Other than a file, how else would you sharpen them? If there’s a better way, please let me know. Thanks
@@4AcresandaFarmhouse That's what we used when I worked residential mowing and on baseball diamonds.
I’ve got that mower 👍 I’ve never taken the blade off to sharpen lol I would just drive it on the ramps of my dump trailer and go at em underneath . Sold the dump trailer now I have to get em off . So it’s just the bottom bolts on the blade that come off ? How do you keep the blades from turning when your trying to wrench em off ?
I use an impact and they buzz right off. If you’re having a problem, jam a block of wood in there or just put on a glove and go for it. They spin the same way as the bolt so they won’t back out. They’re really not in there that tight. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Dude , that’s not how you sharpen blades lol, not like there are not tons of correct videos out there,
Got it. Thanks for watching
