Go off the freeway and you'll see the most beautiful farmland you'll ever see.
You would never know by the scenery that an exit ramp would take you into downtown Salem where you can drive past hundreds of homeless camps set up on the sidewalks in front of people's businesses. You get to see all the trash, furniture, needles, homeless people urinating in front of you in broad daylight, it really is a sight to see if your into that kind of thing. Thank you governor Kate Brown for all you don't do. We have now changed our motto from "Keep Oregon Green" to "Keep your eyes on the sidewalk, you don't know what you might step in".
Sorry to hear what has happened to your great state. Just know if you don’t like what is going on, you are welcome here in Florida (as long of course as you don’t bring Portland city politics with you!)
Well they did clean out the market Street underpass area last month... But I heard they moved down to Hawthorne and state street underpass.
The new Portland.. We quit going to Salem anymore..
Exit 260 is the exit for the Northern most Location of In-N-Out.
Great video! The did a good job of keeping the surroundings of I-5 nice and green, you would never know you're passing through a metro area of 400k just judging by the scenery alone!

You know, this one and the last one, you could pan to the right and show the awesome Cascade mountains that you are passing...
Pan the camera enough one way or another, and you can witness the Hundreds of tents and makeshift abodes of the transplanted homeless. But then that wouldn't be pleasant, would it.
@@robertdassance4156 Man, it wasn't quite that bad when I lived in Springfield a few years back (late 90s)! I used to love the I-5 trip up to Portland, and I ran out to Bend/Redmond area once a week or so. There were a number of "campsites" then; I guess it's only gotten worse.

This video made my late night. As of the posting of this comment, my area's going through a nearly 6 hour long blackout. So I'm watching it on my phone, rather than on the flatscreen.
Salem is about as far north as Minneapolis (also on the 45th parallel) and farther north than all of NY State.
So weird to see you driving something I drive every day from Albany! I dash out in south Salem!

Oregon still require full-serve gas, even at a mini-mart or a truck stop? They must think you're stupid enough to blow yourself up if you pump your own.

It strikes me as pointless to have a speed limit of only 5 MPH below for trucks. It would be easier if everyone could go 65 or 60, depending on the zone.
Willamette University has to be, in my humble opinion, among the least well-known educational institutions in all of America. I have to grant so many kudos to the men and women of Willamette University 🎓🎓🎓🎓🎓for doing their jobs most quietly 😀😀😀😀😀.

Also did something happen to the grants pass to cayonville video? It’s the only section of I5 missing form the latest series.
UA-cam took it down for copyright issues and I deleted the file after it was uploaded. It was only live for about a week and a half. I wish they would just ban the video right after I uploaded it so I can fix it while I still have the file but for whatever reason they took it down like 10 days after it was uploaded 😒
