Away from Home. In the Munster cauldron. Down to 15 players for 60mins of the game (Courtney counts as two of anybody else on the pitch). That was some performance. Well done Saints. 👍
Watched this live. Courtney Lawes was colossal
Form of his life, such a good player
The boy should go far.
Makes you hope he'll come out of international retirement doesn't it? Wonder if players ever do that.
@@joeboonmusic4004 Joe Marler?
@@Loosehead Oh good point, forgot he did! At the moment our only answer to Lawes seems to be Martin, who is injured...
I was fuming at that red but having watched it back 7 times i finally see the second right knee
I was wondering why the red mitigating circumstances but saw your comment and saw the second knee so 100% a red
Damn didn't even see it till you said it, thought it was just the elbow
What second knee?
Ya was sent off
You can see what you want in slow motion. Remember players think and move at full playing speed. That just shows an accidental rugby incident. Play on!
Wtf was the Munster 13 doing studs up at the try scorer, how was that not worthy of a yellow card
He pulled out if you look closely
@@shane-irishyeah my bad, I saw a different angle later on and he does pull out. 🙈
He wasnt english so not worthy of a card. English bloke doing that he would of been cited and all sorts
Just remember one thing, Mitchell played with the likes of reinach, and you can see that in some of his plays. He definitely is a rising star for Eng. Love from South Africa and a proud saints supporter.
He could only get better learning from Cobus!
@@hafidkouloun6405 I agree with you 100%
Reinach is a beast, you're so right. Mitchell has the potential to be our best 9 in years.
Commentary here is far better than TNT Sports, the Irish commentator was dreadful, didn’t know the difference between the Saints players and couldn’t hide the fact he was clearly a Munster fan and congratulated Saints through gritted teeth at the end.
Grow up you hysterical fanny. English commentators are equally biased and utterly smug a lot of the time and you can’t hear it. It’s called bias.
Watched it using vpn on RTE and the all Irish commentators were very good and balanced got to say, sounds like an exception.
Was it quinlan? He is unbearable
@@theojenner1902yes he is so biased. Bayfield is never biased towards Saints.
Very true. I just with TNT and Investec would put together PROPER HIGHLIGHTS PACKAGS instead of reducing 80 minutes into 2-3 minutes! Pathetic!
If that was a red, so was the foot in Graham’s face by the Munster 13 while scoring his try. So soft. Justice prevails! COYS! 🖤💚💛
been saying this for months, rugby is going so soft. Its 30 big blokes who are going out to smash each other the refs need to stop treating the, like little school boys.
@@BH-ui5eb Don't be a hick. If you want to watch violence, go watch tramps fighting in the street. Rugby is a professional sport and every decent person wants the players to be able to remember their wedding day when they're 70 years old. Head contacts have no place in the game and anyone who thinks so can find something else to do with their time. Rugby has left you behind.
Totally agree, absolutely baffled by that red, his leg moved and the lads nutted it. His head is such that he wouldn't have even seen what was happening. Hope this gets the berating it deserves
A knee to the face? That sparks out a player? When has that not been a red? It was a red 30 years ago.
@@BH-ui5ebwhen you have hundreds of retiring players complaining about head trauma and being crippled in their 50s. Id say its a good thing
I’m a saints fan myself and it’s hilarious reading all these delusional people in the comments. That second contact of knee to head is a red card, he was looking straight down at the player as he did it. Rush of blood and deserved red card. Even I’ll admit it
Well spoken obviously a rugby purist.NOT like some of the idiotic statements by some on here.!!!
Tough one to swallow, but he didn’t need to pull that leg through.
Agree mate cant wait for the last 16 game well done ye deserved that win
That lad O'Mahoney could have some future on the wing. Great finish.
Yeah, I remember him playing on the wing for Ireland against Italy back in 2013 😅 What a disaster of a game that was
Further convinced me watching this game that Fin Smith should now be starting for England with Marcus Smith remaining the super sub. Hopefully Borthwick was watching. An England 9, 10,12 combo of Mitchell, F Smith and Dingwall would be interesting and not something England have had cohesion with for a long time
I think Fin Smith is a slow burner, people will slowly realise he's got world class potential and he'll just keep improving his game. His kicking alone was insane here.
Boring Borthwick ball will never allow it.
Boring Borthwick ball will never allow it. 😡
@@rhodsullivan7773Fin smith suits borthwicks game more anyway?
@@MrOlivergorman Have you watched Northampton this season?
What a win !!
What a win 🎉
We have to pay Courtney whatever he wants . He is just the best in the world
Munster bottled it again. Congrats
Champions Cup is the best club rugby competition.
So, when Dino Lamb was injured by that Toulouse centre earlier this season the ramification of whether he was injured or not wasn’t considered (he was carried off on a stretcher 20 minutes after the tackle and the centre got away with a yellow). Why not????
Always a joy to see Munster lose. Surely the most self regarding club side in world rugby.
This is different Saints side from what ten years ago! I guess Mitchell, Smith, Furbank add something that was missed before.
lol, they won the prem 10 nyears ago (2014). Topped the regular league the year after.
Watched the replay over and over, still couldn't see any foul play. Then I watched the knees. The useless commentating about his arm is just pulling people's attention away from the actual reason for the card.
The smiths in the england 23. Marcus magic and finn calm head
Revenge will be sweet😊😊
That aged well 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great win.. dirty munster defender at the end for the last try, sliding with his knees in.. LRZ missed ths
Pundits were talking like Munster were 50 points ahead at 20 - 10, they hardly mentioned Saints were down to 14 men till the realisation of Munster losing the game.😂😂 Awful, biased commentary.😂😂😂😂
Agree about commentators on TNT. It's all padding, they don't know the players. RTE's Hugh Cahill does. Knows who has the ball, who tackles and knows the game.
Oh dear, Munster blow it again - even with a man extra this time
Was there no card given for the munster 13 slide tackling the northampton player when he was scoring the try?
get yer eyes checked Frisch didn’t even make contact, lifted both legs out of the way given the forsight (sth. Langdon didn’t do). And then Sam Graham’s football reflexs kick in, rolls for a few secs before realising no one’s buying it and moves on like nothing even happened..
@@karlosdeevs even if he didn’t make contact it’s still a potentially dangerous action from the Munster player.
@@harrythomas3363 yh but unlike Curtis, Frisch makes the maximum effort in pulling out of any potential contact whilst Langdon’s plants the knee into Aherne’s temple area + wedging his head into the ground as well..
@@karlosdeevs That’s fair. I just don’t understand why he would dive in legs first in the first place
@@harrythomas3363 me neither, but it was a waterlogged suface by the end & Frisch probz hadn’t thought it through due to fatigue
Brilliant. Northampton v Munster v the poxy ref and TMO. Did well. DOwn to 13 against 17.
Lie down and fold until you hear the bell.
I’d like to see you take 2 heavy knees to the temple in quick succession and remain standing🙄
What a ridiculous red card. Well done Saints.
Another STUPID STATEMENT.!!!
red is deserved there are only the English and their usual bad faith that say the opposite
It was the only thing the ref got right all game
100 percent a red clearly on purpose he had no reason to only move one leg leading with the knee other than to hurt the opposite player. I hope he gets banned.
@@casperselka671yup, defo
Red card my arse. Unbelievable
I hope none of the saints players shook the referees hand
That was never a red. Northampton are very good!
That red card will be rescinded pretty sharpish.
No chance, that was dirty and intentional. He knew exactly what he was doing.
@@gordon1545 I totally agree with the vast majority of the new laws and I'm no Saints fan either.
However, the referee slowed it to a 1/4 speed and it showed a player's head got hit as he was falling sideways, less than a foot from the ground. The Saints AND Munster players both make contact with the falling player as they step forward to compete for the ball on the ground. And speaking as a neutral (Wales & Gloucester supporter), I don't think it looked dirty or intentional.
That is an open and shut case of a rugby collision. And as unfortunate as it is, it really shouldn't matter how hard his head got hit.
@@gordon1545 oh STFU you're exactly what's wrong with rugby ATM. How is that in anyway intentional or reckless?
@gordon1545 let's all play touch rugby
the red was awful. it wasn't intentional. Its like the ref never played
My word their are some RIGHT Numptys on this comments SECTION..Blatantly obvious red card. And then to Moan about munster 13? For WHAT? Such stupid Comments.!!!
yh, 1st Munster loss at home in ages and it‘s as if everyone else suddenly has venom bottled up waiting to launch it off.. Repulsive
Did the ref not say ‘it’s not clear if it is intentional’. Surely that means a yellow card. Reckless doesn’t automatically mean red
Saints fan here. Think the ref got it right in line with the World Rugby guidelines. Not intentional but reckless, plus contact to the head. If he’d kneed someone in the groin, it’s not gonna be a red. The key bit was the head contact.
Sam Graham should be cited for simulation. Although not clear from these brief clips, Frisch clearly lifted his legs high in the air and never touched either Graham's head or body with his feet when Graham was touching down. Look out for the replay from the camera to the right of the incident when the full match is uploaded. Graham briefly held his head to look as if he'd received a kick, before thinking better of it and running away unscathed.
And by the way - it was a magnificant performance by Northampton.
@@qcsorter4626yh, lucky he didn’t get a yellow card
A red card where he accidentally hits his head on his opponents knee..bro its called a contact sport for a reason..
The red was for the second knee to the temple
Bloody hell..Some right stupid comments on here..Blatant.Obvious red card...!!!
Exceptional win after a farcical red card
If you think the second hit, the right knee, led to a "farcical" red card, you've no understanding of rugby at all.
My God their are obviously some MORONS on this comments section...Such a blatant red card.!!
Oh my god we’re going to win the champions cup too
Northampton will? Not a fucking chance, I'd say Stade Francaise will win before Saints

Munster 😂
A very harsh red card imho
yeah - looked like the guy fell onto his knee, nothing the Saints player could do about it.....
It's the 2nd knee to the head which was a red
@@daveh2344 ah - yeah see what you mean now.......that second hit was avoidable.
I'm not convinced of his innocence, it was the second knee hit.
He even looks down and sees his head, then unnaturally pulls his right knee into his head.
I would really like to see red cards only given for deliberate acts of foul play, I have no problem if the referee thought it was a deliberate act however he said it was unintentional and I don't think we should be sanctioning outcome only intent .
That red card was shocking
Good game of rugby. Let’s not get dragged down by the decision, it was not so clear and obvious a red, at full speed you can’t say if it was intentional or not, at slow speed it looks bad. Either way on that call from the ref it would be contentious and it didn’t cost the Saints in the end anyway. Time to shut up and move on.
true
I’m sorry but Langdon’s red card was so so unfair, also if he was red carded how was the Munster 13 not when he crashed into Graham as he scored the try, terrible refereeing in my opinion
Dirty O'Mahony getting what he deserves
very satisfying
The worst Munster pack in 30 years. No heart .
def not a red.
That’s 2 ridiculous red cards now, in full speed that’s nothing, slow it down and it looks worse but there’s no way that was purposeful. Again in full speed think how quick his reflexes need to be to adjust and intentionally knee the guy on the floor. He’s not that skilled or that stupid
That's the point he had a duty of care to the munster player whose head was in a vulnerable position on the ground.
The red card is well deserved. For anyone who actually played rugby, going forward in a ruck requires to use your legs strength and not throwing your knee directly in the head of someone
so soft
Sorry - but I disagree with this
You obviously haven't played then

Rush of blood to the head of you ask me.
EXACTLY.!!
Can't be having players going up to the ref asking for any colour card. This isn't football... 0:29
The Irish provinces coach their players to play act to get opposition players sent off , here is the latest example, never a red card.
are you saying the two knees to the face was play acting by Ahern? 😂
He was unconscious you absolute bellend. A knee to the face has always been a red card. Cian Healy got a yellow against Toulon for it and the English were howling for red. Hypocrites.
So far, we know Ahern has been kept in overnight in hospital. Still think it's play acting? I could go on and describe people like you, but I'll just leave that be.
So ahern used some kind of a qui gon jinn mind trick to make Langdon. Knee him in the head, I know that ahern kid is good but surely not that good
that red card was ludicrous, it's incidental contact
..munster rugby going downhill fast ..Pathetic !! .. No Heart..No Soul and No fight ..the damn molly coddled generation ..!!
That is a dreadful decision. The guy fell on his knee. Next the rules will be sending off for tackling too hard.
Watch it again Mr.Magoo, it's the second knee to the head he was given a red for
The most crazy red card ever.
Yeah, what was the player thinking. Madness
@@pilgrim3387agree, he should’ve jerked away
Oh dear, the second time this weekend a rugby incident has become a red.but maybe the 4-5th time something like this has happened.
I get the direction with head injury’s but you can’t be penalised for legally competing at a ruck. There was no illegal or recklessness play here, what so ever. Just very unfortunate for the guy on the deck.
I get munster fans frustration at their performance today, but Munster were piss poor, along with that call.
You need to watch it again. The left knee contact was accidental, as stated by the ref. The second right knee to the head when the Munster player was on the ground is what earned the red card. 1:52
why do munster always suck in the champions cup
Red card….lets play touch rugby from now on.
Sack that referee what in the world just happened😮 world rugby this is stupid
Sack that Ref. Saints 2 sent off for what was a rugby incident. His knee hit the head of the opposition in a breakdown situation. The final Saints try the Munster 13 slid boots first into the Saints players head when that player was on the round and after the try had been scored. A few reviews required of this very poor Ref.
You did see the right knee get smashed into Aherns face right? The first contact when Ahern falls is not the red
@@jacklynch423 the problem is replays in slow motion. That always appears to show whatever the reviewing ref wants. At playing speed the video does not show anything other than an accidental rugby incident. Please remember that players think and move at playing speed and in this incident there just was not time for the Saints player to have decided to have a second movement into the head of the opposition player. I noticed you do not comment on the clear red card foul by the Munster player hitting a players head, on the ground with his boots. A very clear and intentional red card foul.
@@brianseage5452 but the Munster player was moving at playing speed, there was no time for him to decide to do that. See how that logic just doesn’t hold up? It was also a red card. As someone who has done a few cheeky things in rucks you 100% have time to think about what you’re going to do. Why would the saints player have moved his knee is such a manor? I’ve never seen anyone move like that before
Red card bullshit wasn't intentional
Never, ever a red. Awful ref.
Red card utter farce
I'm not convinced of his innocence, it was the second knee hit.
He even looks down and sees his head, then unnaturally pulls his right knee into his head.
That red is utter bull. What’s happened to our game. The Munster player fell onto his knee.
it was the second driven knee to the head that was penalised
And then he kneed him in the face with the other knee. Reckless and injured the player with direct contact with force - the definition of a red card.
No, I have no horse in this race whatsoever so this is not bias speaking before you or anyone else asks.
It's the second knee straight to the side of his temple which is a clear as day red for reckless play
I'm not convinced of his innocence, it was the second knee hit.
He even looks down and sees his head, then unnaturally pulls his right knee into his head.
What a Moronic statement.!!!
Yet again, the cynical Munster players act up for the crowd, and the crowd influence the referee. Red card that was just a playing incident, not even a penalty, and a yellow card where the Munster player ran into him to manufacture an incident. I feel ill at the way Munster deliberately do this, so cynical and unsporting.
Ruby Union has gone soft. If thats a red card then i'm done with RU!!!
Not even impressive saints win with the amount of Munster injury’s
Ridiculous. Northampton had 14 men most of the game and went down to 13 at one stage. Munster lost a game at home, which they absolutely should never have lost. Very impressive Saints performance.
