He's got to be lying about being Druze too... Druze is an ethno-religion that predates Islam as a form of levantine monotheism unique to a specific tribe of people. No practicing druze would say they were Lebanese, they would say they were druze, because they're druze and not Lebanese. The druze identity, as an ethno-religion, is insanely important to Druze people.
So are the Jews an ethno-religious group. They still identify as Israeli if they live in Israel. I'm not sure you're entirely correct there, especially since a 2008 census in Israel said 94% percent of Druze in Israel identify as Israeli-Druze. So it would surely translate to Druze in Lebanon identifying as Lebanese-Druze since Lebanese is a nationality. Or are you saying the Druze have no nationality?
@@franklingoodwinthis does not follow the Lebanese-Druze community could very well not see themselves as Lebanese whilst the Israeli ones do due to a variety of factors from oppression by local terrorists groups to how the state was set up.
@tiggerbane4325 that wasn't the argument being made by OP though. His argument that was on ethno-religious grounds Druze object to being considered as Lebanese. So, yes it does figure that those in Israel would object to being called Israeli if that was indeed the case. I don't know why you went to Israel treats it's Druze population better and that's why the Druze in Israel consider themselves Israeli-Druze if you actually understand the points the OP was making.
@franklingoodwin why would a practicing Druze outright identify as Lebanese, instead of saying "Lebanese-Druze" or "Druze from Lebanon?" What I'm saying is that the ethnic and religious identity are *really* important to religious Druze people and he claimed to be a practitioner of that specific ethno-religion.

this point is a bit too masturbatory it is obviously the case that "couple" isn't exclusively used to mean 2, the reason he still doesn't quite cut it is because "couple" still signifies a relatively small amount of things even when used informally like that
It was genuinely sad and frustrating at the end when destiny was talking about the problem with narrativizing from both sides and this guy is nodding along or shaking his head at the stories while completely missing the point of the statement as a whole
If someone actually speaks the language it's not cringe for them to pronounce the names of things in that language properly. If we take his claims that he lived in Lebanon at face value then it would make sense for him to speak Arabic, and thus it would make sense to pronounce the names in an Arabic way. (It would be weirder for someone who speaks Arabic to NOT pronounce Arabic words in an Arabic way, THAT would be forced) that being said, I'm 90% sure he's either never lived in Lebanon or MAYBE he was born there and moved away when he was like 2 years old or MAYBE he vacationed there with his family on and off when he was a kid, he's obviously a rich kid, literally every communist is.
The worst part about this was the closing statement where destiny genuinely tries to level with the kid. I really thought lil bro was listening to him, but nope. This debate was another dose of the "college aged kids should be banned from political discourse" blackpill. And yes, that goes for the ones in DGG chat too.
He reads several quotes from human rights organizations, most of which turned out to be organizations for the Palestinians, and not for "human rights." He changes terminology if it doesn't fit what he's written. And these are the people "who understand the subject." It's sad how ignorant the younger generation is today.
I can't stand people that "correctly" pronounce things when they don't have that accent at all. It's performative and insulting. It's like TV cooks that add Italian accents whenever they pronounce spaghetti. It's really f'ing annoying.
He's saying a one state under *hummus*. And yeah he's completely lost in the sauce. All he knows is his propagandised narrative. It's insane to me that he doesn't have crazy cognitive dissonance from how obviously little he understands this issue... Some Palestinians definitely would prefer a one state under *hummus, but to pretend that wouldn't be cataclysmic for Israelis is nuts. Also, hummus is at least 50% responsible for all the suffering their people have been going through, so even assuming things would be good under their victorious rule is delusional imo. It is interesting to hear a perspective that's so confidently misinformed though. I always find it hard to understand how these people think.
Because places like Ireland, Spain (irony of ironies) and Norway are salivating at the false idea that all Israeli lines are Palestinian. With that logic though every land conquered through war by anyone else outside of Israel is apartheid and illegal. If we are gonna change the rules of war and winning battles for Israel it should could for everyone. Whoops.
The baizous never get it. Israel is one of the few stories where conquered land got won back by the natives. Greece, Spain, Malta are the same.
@@jaiden3473 personally, enough to know that a couple means 2
Knew it was over once I saw the Lelouch Discord PFP with the Eren Yeager panel in the background.
Aot fan yet hates jews lol
Yo wild seeing you here bro, your hakari vs waffle guy video was awesome
No way LOL
No operator here?
100% thinks Eren was justified lmao
Bud doesnt know what secular means lmfao
I sure do love my radical Islamist secular groups!
@@end_managed_democracyIt really confuses me that people either don't care about ideology, or are so absurdly ill-informed about their ideologies. Like, how are we at a point where terror * ism is no big deal to these people. They either forgot what that means or they don't believe it happens there and it's all just an American psyop. It's really strange.
Or even beyond that, they have no problem accurately pointing out the problems of religious fundamentalism when talking about Republican Christians or extremist zio**sts, but for Islam they brain malfunctions. It's like they're so afraid of being Isla*ophobic they can't even compute that there are extreme elements of the religion that are very problematic to say the least.
@@end_managed_democracy New JREG ideology just dropped.
Hezbollah literally means Party of God in Arabic. This guy did so much damage to Palestinians 😂
"Do you think toothpaste is effective at preventing tooth decay?"
"It has fluoride in it!"
I love how he calls Hezbollah a “resistance group” from his cozy home in Canada.
"Two years?! I said a couple years!" lmao
A couple can also mean a few
@@ephraimherer9406 He said "most of his life" though. If he's 22 then there's no way "most of his life" can ever be described as "a couple years"
@@ephraimherer9406 actually, a couple means 2.
A few means a few.
@@ephraimherer9406If he meant a few he'd say a few
@@ephraimherer9406I mean yes people use the terms equivalently. They’re doing so improperly; it’s people being bad at English lol.
Regardless, as others have said, in no universe would ‘most of my life’ be described as ‘a couple years’.
You can see he is GLUED to whatever AI tool or script he's using. It's like a kindergartener trying to cheat on his english quiz in full view of the teacher.
this dude talking about the water in Gaza, talking about israel destroying the desalination plant.....Israel built them that desalination plant, Hamas dug up the pipes and made the desalination plant unusable lmao
They de piped it while active that's wild.
@@tarfielarchelone2674 They literally filmed it themselves dude
This sums up pretty well the average pro P.
Temu : '' They are under siege for 75 years, dying of malnutrition, skin and bones! ''
Destiny : '' With an increasing population and 20% obesity rate ? ''
Temu : '' I said since Oct 7. ''
Destiny : '' You said since 75 years . ''
Temu : '' Are you a Nazi? ''
How does Destiny have the patience to discuss with someone so obtuse for over two hours? I would end the conversation with an upturned table and a headache after 15 minutes.
It’s good content, occupies a number of hours, keeps the chat happy and gives him UA-cam and clip channel content. It’s good business. Plus, Destiny doesn’t agree with the pro Hamas narrative, of course, so showing how weak their arguments are serves to strengthen his own side. Seems fairly clear to me.
@@MrSenserus I didn't ask why, I asked how... you need nerves of steel not to explode in this conversation
@@rapaore Yeah I guess I was saying that it’s easier to explain ‘how’ one can contain their nerves if there’s some superior motive that supersedes the annoyance experienced
I'm a radical leftist, but if you try and even have a nuanced discussion about Israel/Palestine with another leftist it is going to be a shitshow.
Maybe let go of the identity. Just look at politics through a "generally left" perspective, weigh the pragmatism and practicality of the ideas present in "the left" and apply them accordingly. Let go of the labels. "Leftist", "radical leftist", "communist", "anarchist," nobody cares. Be attached to the outcomes; not the ideology itself. If the same outcomes are reached through means that wouldn't make your favorite Marxist philosophers proud, it doesn't matter. Stop looking for an identity. You don't need one.
@@RiceShouldBeFluffyExactly. I go with things that make sense to me, and how they make sense to me is the results I get in the real world. Therefore most political stances are irrelevant other than anti racism.
@@RiceShouldBeFluffy I am a pragmatist already, I just happen to also be a socialist.
I'm just using words to describe myself, it isn't anymore of identity than being a pragmatist.
I have no loyalty to any person, just ideals and working solutions.
Perhaps that should make you question your beliefs if you recognize that most people who share your beliefs are blind ideologues
@@roymarshall_ Why would a completely unrelated ancient land dispute cause me to change my economic beliefs?
I question my beliefs all the time anyways, that's how I got to where I am now.
The level of mental AOE damage you cause your viewers by talking to people like this is crazy. Ignore these people, they are not worth your time.
Mental AOE damage? Cringe
But this is literally everyone. Politics these days is utterly devoid of sanity, and moderate democrats have the only drops anyone can find. I much prefer Destiny talking to another human being and having a back and forth than him reacting to brainrot some populists put down like Cenk or Trump or Hasan through a react video.
As a Canadian I can confirm there's a lot of these guys that are extra proud of being able to pronounce words in the middle east and off that feel they have some authority to tell you what it is.
The ending is so poetic destiny goes on about how this conflict is do misconstrued and dummed down to fit narratives from both sides just for mr lukewarm 70 ig himself to go "this conflict isnt complex my side is good their side is evil" fucking perfect
