There was a Dragons Dogma MMO. It was only released in Japan though so it got shut down after several years.
I think it was the company decision that they stopped all live-service IP to focus more on other triple A projects. Monster hunter Frontier, another Capcom MMO was also shutdown on same time as Dragon Dogma online in late December, 2019.

I kinda hope they bring back mystic knight. Like i know it was OP but having a melee magic caster was a great hybrid class to have.
Apparently, the twin blade wielding character at the start is a magic/warrior vocation.
@@quasadra it's cool but completely removed the defensive nature that mystic knight had. I mean I still enjoy mystic spear. Kinda wondering what's everyone's hangup with the 30fps lol

@@rafaelramoscardona3108 I think they just want to focus each vocation to a certain playstyle. Strider being split into two so each will focus on agile melee while the other for range. MK is broken since it complements all except for physical range and that is probably why we have Spearhand for it to be the more offensive magic melee without the defensive style of a fighter. That said, we have Wayfarer which probably does all on a basic level.

Every class is op, sorcerer was great in the first game.
I always used the ranger class, whatever it was called. Tenfold Arrow one-shot pretty much everything, even the dragon on my 3rd or 4th NG+ lol
I'm magick archer forever. Is it op too? I'm avoiding spoilers 100 %, so not watching any videos before it comes out, same as I did with elden ring, 100 % blind first playthrough.

@@imrileth6618 It got released in the East only, yea. For PC and ps4. I used to play it using vpn on pc. And fan-made English language mod. There was a pretty big English speaking clan also. But most people you were meeting, were Japanese. Great times. Great game. Capcom shut it down after a few years

Being that I just finished my first playthrough of DD 1 in anticipation for DD2, looking back now at all these DD2 vids it just feels like a updated polished remake of DD1. Enemy wise they shown all the enemies in DD1. Is that a bad thing ? No but what makes DD2 so special besides the pawn system that guides our main to different quest
There was an MMO version of Dragon's Dogma called Dragon's Dogma Online but it was Japan exclusive.

Towards the range combat, its hard to tell.... if it similar to dd1 it would be very usefull... after all the magic archer was the most effectic (note not most strong or fun) class for endgame content in Dragons Dogma 1
Assassin is best in both categories
Based on the first Game magic magic can be extremely powerful, however spells take time to cast where the caster is left very open to attacks if party does not defend them or distract enemies, a wizard could be channeling a sell only to have a ogre drop drop kick then grab them run off far from the party and bite their head off instakilling them, or a blinded cyclops that in in a frenzied state moves their direction as their casting a smell and they get battle away and instantly die, or a chimera scilences them and their useless till your fighters kill the goat head, or some random undead, Lizerdmen or warrior desides to run up behind them and shank them, or a beholder shows up... the point in that magic users in the first game were very valuable to attacks well casting, witch was worse with more power spells, but if you get a spell off it will ussuly do a ton, even if it's just support spells cuz there are so many status effects witch can be very strong if it's on your side or screw you over so hard if you have no caster who can remove them, notably various curses witch can only be Removed by casters and will result in certain and irreversible death if left untreated, like phantom curses witch kill whoever has been cursed and don't allow them to be brought back their just gone, all least till you visit a pawn stone to resummon pawns, phantoms also can't be damaged with out magic, either needing a caster to attack them or to enchant an allies attack to allow them to damge them. There is nothing a party with out a caster can do but run from phantom, there is also petrification and death curses witch are garenteed irreversible deaths if untreated, though petrification can be cure with rare and expensive potions, and poison witch unlike in many years games where it will ware off after a short time will kill you if you don't cure it, also can be healed with more avaliable potions, and then various debuffs and stuff.
Buffs that offer protection or speed or stuff also exist, and many enemies have elemental weaknesses that ussuly need a wizard to exploit either will elemental spells or enchanting an allies attack to allow for elemental damage, some weapons have elemental attacks but they are very rare, with the most notable examples beings the poison rust blades and the many oil based weapons, I also remember a few water ones, oil and water are not a direct weaknesses though, with and act as debuffs witch can empower fire and lighting respectively, though dampness can also reduce fire damage.

I agree it makes me hate the summertime because I feel guilty not being outside. I wish it would just be cold, dark and rainy all year long so I could sit inside and play all these great games and nothing else without guilt :)

30 fps on console is just a myth started by somebody. PC player here but for the PS5 players I wouldn't be too worried. We're talking about Capcom here. They will optimize the shit out of this game to make it playable. Id bet atleast 50-60 for PS5.
It’s uncapped frame rate aiming for 30 so it can be lower then 30 or higher probably depending on what happening on screen

Yeah Im yet to see a single fight in this game that doesn't have a tonne of jank.
I remember the problems with DD1 but by DD:DA it was all mostly fixed
@@nebky I didn't see any jank in the griffin fight at the beginning of this video, can you give an example? Even Elden Ring has glitchy animations all the time, especially large enemies in the open world like Dragons and Gargoyles. I'm talking about dragons getting stuck in a cliff, biting your character and eating them but your character model is 4 feet away from their mouth while the eating animation plays, etc
@@IlIlllIIIllIIlIIlII Oh ER has plenty of jank too for sure, particularly with the bigger fights. You're right, that first one isn't too bad, but there's still loads of stuttering and sharp animation blends. Conan spent half the fight just awkwardly standing underneath the enemy. The Griffin's attacks seemed totally untargeted and really generic, same with the ogre right after. Just in general a lot of the animations look real stiff and goofy, particularly when blending between. All adds up to what looks like a clunky awkward combat system to me and most fights I've seen have been a complete mess in terms of clipping and terrain interactions.
Couple that with 30fps on console and I really don't trust that they've put enough effort into the overall polish. 😔

FF7 is not really a “remake” it’s been confirmed that it’s actually technically a sequel as it exists in an alternate universe and the main thing probably collides in the 3rd FF7 games. Same way Dragons Dogma 2 is a sequel. FF7 originally started like the original and then it deviated itself ALOT to the point where it’s hard to call it a “remake”. It’s literally more of a brand new game
Once level 40+ rolls around, combat become so much more investing. I'm just psyched for emdgame now.

I noticed big monsters feet are always step on the terrent, this is much better than Elden Ring, technically to say.
I am very hyped for the game however a lil dissapointed Capcom did not choose to carry over the amazing ?"Hit Feedback"? from the previous game (When you hit a monster or a body part you can see the impact)
So I hope the impact sounds (Which are great as far as I can tell), and the hitstop are enough to deliver that feel.

It's crazy You can tell a good game by a much gameplay the developer is eager to show you. Shit unreal engine games just show the environment and lighting. Real developers show gameplay

The FF7Remake series are the FF7 story(with some variance I hear) rebuilt so heavily that, imo, they qualify as new games.

@@DevoFett No problem. Archer shots are way faster. You can also look at the Ranger and Strider in Dragon's Dogma 1 if you want to get a good idea what 2 will be like.

Edit: To what you said about remakes being game of the year, I definitely agree. I think as gamers, it's really cool to see games we grew up with with current graphics as well as updated mechanics, but to see them be nominated for goty is a bit a slap to the face to new games built from ground up. I would say that seeing a different category for remakes, or something along those lines, would be cool.

idk maybe i need to actually wait for this to come out but this compared to MH im just a bit underwhelmed tbh. i guess early MH fights arent that special either tbh so im assuming all of the footage here is relatively early before the wild stuff happens.

@@ItApproaches DD2 is the ultimate remake of the first game lol, it's not a sequel and has the same plot. Itsuno the game director basically said it was what dd1 should've looked liked if they had budget and tech for it.
@@krez4268Pretty sure it has an entirely different plot based off entirely different cities and 2 different races, along with the fact that they don't show off Gran Soren. Doesn't mean they won't be there, but i'm pretty sure it's an entirely new land.

yeah dragon's dogma magis is just out of world... when in all other games you can cast aoe spell that have radius of 5m and 5 stones are showing up 10 m above than on dragon's dogma you will cast fricking moving 100m tall tornado that stays for long time or drop asteroids on mobs like real ones with great sound effect when it hit the ground and you can see them falling from sky

Enemies seem like they spend more time lying on the floor than actually fighting. I hope it's just because of the cuts, and not actually close to this in-game.

i do think am gonna play either a tank or a mage will see and as for the GOTY so far it be between Dogma 2,FF Reb and Black Myth but we have to see that game 1st and then we can make conclusions and i bet there will be still more good games out in this year tho am afraid that Dogma 2 will be S on consoles with the uncapped framerate and i don't mind it cause am a PC guy but it wil lsuck for those who are on consoles

Not much. Still limited travel options, 1 save slot, same dragon, but now we have less skill slots cause most vocations lost their backup weapon
It's basically a remake of the first but with all of the content that was supposed to be in the original.
Remember Dragon age dreadwolf is probably also coming later this year and then we also have star wars outlaws and assassin's Creed red but I don't think red or star wars outlaws could get a game of the year but I think dragons dogma 2 and Final Fantasy rebirth and Dragon age DreadWolf will be in a close battle for the game of the year and maybe wukong 🤷🏼♂️
