Omg, i just realized that the crazy old man that lives in the hut by the sea and leaves on a boat at the end is an arisen (that i noticed because of the scar on his chest) but its one arisen that got as far as us within the end of the world and then died or gave up there, but remembers everything about it and thats why he knows soo many weird stuff that at first sound like gibberish to everyone else. Thats dope!
Made that realization when i died at the endgame map
The oldman is ganna find a new isle and a new alter outcome for us as DLC.
At least is what I hoped, 8 more month to find out while having the heartach of the ending.
Game might not have been perfect but I always love when games include things like that
Ik this has nothing to do with dragons dogma but has anyone ever told you you look a lot like chico, also, i agree that the ending is really awesome, i think it is an even better ending than the one you would’ve gotten if you had not given up and killed the dragon
@@JonathanJ159 hahaha no, you're the first person to tell me that, i had to look it up xD And yes, I can see why it feels better, because as we wake up in the hut, we supposedly become the old crazy hermit ourselves in another's Arisen journey. It really shows the weight of it all🫣
When you realize the tentacles in the true ending from the golem battle and the dragon are the Brine tentacles, meaning the Brine is there to keep everything in check.
Ending the cycle means giving everyone their free will with the dragon's death and you the arisen along with your faithful pawn. Truly a more tragic ending than DD1, yet bitter sweet at the end.
I'm a sucker for bittersweet endings, I loved it
yes the brine keeps the people on the land
I still feel like they could at least add something more to the true ending... perhaps make a true dragon last boss fight with the help of the dragon pawn, instead of just climbing on it and moving around with nothing else to do. It does feel like a lazy ending.
@@user-iw3jx4zj1xtheres like 4-5 extra boss fights (each different) if you go for the true ending along with an entirely changed map so i think its pretty neat, also, i think you do fight the dragon in the 2nd ending in the vid, idk because ive only done the true ending
@@JonathanJ159 Yeah, I knew, the red dragons. But like, really, it's the last true boss, just imagine if you beat something like Elden Ring or BotW and the last boss is just moving and dialogue
and btw, the second ending boss' health bar are lower than normal dragon, you can just one shot with Magick Archer master skill
When you realize that the Title screen only says "Dragon's Dogma" and only when you witness the Unmoored world does the game _truly_ begin with "Dragon's Dogma II"

Also, don’t know if anyone noticed, but the characters that appear in the scene with the last song change based on which side quests/affinity with them you did, I had more characters appear on mine than in this video

You missed the ending where the main pawn is not in dragon form (if close affinity is achieved)

If you werent already aware, there is technically another ending.
Its basically the unmoored world ending, but your pawn transforms back into their normal self to talk to you after opening that big dragons heart.
Might have something to do with raising your pawns affinity to max or something
Whoa i thought it was supposed to be that way when our pawn turn back into human form and talked to us while this video doesn't have that. I guess my affinity with my pawn is high

Great, as this part was, I was really disappointed that the last thing you did was just climb up a dragon,even the fight with the dragon was underwhelming,they even took the part where the pawns rifts in behind you. I hope if a dlc expansion happens,it will after this bring back the Daimon and Senechal, and make the Senechal fight amazing and not just a pushover like in the last game,would be awesome if the Senechal's vocation and looks will be based on your previous Arisens

Nah cause you see in the true ending credits that the world has gone back to normal. The new arborheart is growing, sven is adapting to his role. You successfully stopped the apocalypse, removed the pathfinder, removed the dragon forevermore and improved the world!
@@ConstantEveI was so disappointed that second play through I still see the Watcher/pathfinder. I thought the true ending would be after you break the cycle and give everyone free will then the story unfold in a different way
@warheadjcj7331 yeah as far as I can tell ng+ isn't canon or part of events. You die in the true ending so the world can be free from the cycle.
With which ending can i play on the normal world with my character? Because i used the sword while i was on the dragons back and after that the world was ruined. Is the last ending in the video the best and is the world undestroyed there?
What you did is the best ending, cause you are removing the curse of the cycle from the world freeing it and in time rebirth a new world that doesn’t need it
@@Artixes yeah that's true, but my quest is bugged. I have to rescue vernworth but I can't do the quest with the mother of the Consul. I don't know how to convince her to go with us

I didn’t kill the dragon mid flight and now I have to fight him all over again, it took me ages the first time. Idk if I can be bothered doing it again
May I ask what armor set is that and how do you get it ?
Was this done all on the last Inn save? I don’t wanna make one of these decisions and have to NG+ to do the others
I killed the dragon, sat on the throne (good ending), reloaded my last save (Not last inn save) and it put me back at the credits, I then talked to the pathfinder to go back and use the godsbane on myself. (true ending)
I was supposed to use the sword? 💀
I fought and beat it a second time and then just waited for the credits to finish 😭
bro same, i now am in the arena with the dragon a second time and cant use the blade anymore and will now have to fight a second time for nothing bruv

I struggled as well, I had to look it up because there was clearly SOMETHING I could do there but I was too much of a brainlet to do it
@@wozemak like, was there some dialogue we missed that hinted at us using the sword or were we just magically supposed to know 😅 I know a lot of people who did the true ending their first time only because they were told prior what to do. Personally I don't like spoiling stuff like that for myself
@@joshualawton57 In the first game after you take the place of senechel, you use godsbane on yourself to break the cycle, so people who played the first had a hint
I also got grilled by the dragon on 29:05 and was praying, like please not, not the beach, you can't do this to me, not after all this! X'D Thank god the first option just restarts on top of the dragon.

im trying to figure that out myself i think the brine is like the failsafe that will destroy the world should the cycle be broken like a great calamity , because one of the NPCS says "it was like the sea rose into the sky"
The brine is god. He prevents the denizens of the world from leaving their shores.
You know what's crazy. When going to fight the dragon on volcanic isle, I went the wrong way down that corridor and the brine swallowed me up. It placed me again right at the corridor entrance in time for me to see one of my pawns get swallowed as well. I had to return to the inn to rehire him.
lol nah. Brine is entropy and the great will is the other half. The great will created the original dragon, which was the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder helped make Grigori. Grigori, helped the Arisen break the chains of the Pathfinder, but what of the Greatwill's?
Is there any postgame content like the everfell?
I've heard that there is a post game thing, there is a UA-cam video that details how to get it

If, like in the first game, you consider post-game to be after you kill Grigori/the Dragon then yes. It's basically when the world takes that red sky and looks apocalyptic.
Ahhhh man soooo close to the true ending...i fought the dragon a 2nd time...and saw the heart beat glowing...i tried to just regular attack it tho...never once thought to 'use' the sword in my inventory...
Yup and you don't have to be on the chest to do it. Afterwords the world changes more than on the first game, and the entire sea, aka the brine is now in the sky
Yeah, I only found out after I completed the game. Also, my dumb ass didn't bother talking to the Pathfinder in the hall. I thought I could get out of the throne, but couldn't. :(

dd1 no choice when you kill the dragon they will give you 2 things and its restart or become god and be able to do nothing. so basically you walk around until youre bored then restart anyways
or if youre talking about the cycle basically the dragon and arisen always comes back and have a fight to the death
@@nationalshittalker6971no there was a third choice which was suicide while you were still god which is similar in this ending except it just skips the apocalypse ending and goes straight to recreating the world without the cycle

Yeah I did so, just save at battal inn after you take the godsbane and do all endings from there but you've to do all again and again from killing the giant on forward, as for the pawn ending I I still didn't do it but I think it's doable
Sadly this isn't the full ending, it's missed out on another scene involving Wilhelmina at a camp/shack in front of a fire. (unless I've missed that on the video)
Love how much nicer the dragon is in this game hes like climb on me and well go to the battle spot in dd1 he just tries to murder u where u stand then treats u like a flea talkin mad shit till u get to the battle spot
Grigori had so much more personality tho. He came out of nowhere as you've been completing main story and said "Ok, enough of this silly quests, it's all irrelevant. Now come fight me when you're ready."
Not really, he literally tells you where he'll be when he confronts you at the wall should you muster the courage to face him, so he also awaits you at a proper battlefield too
I think in DD2, he wants you to kill him.
If anyone is confused about how to get the ending keep resting and let time pass youll get tbe ending eventually
But is better if you do the quest there and kills the bosses

Japanese devs always go for cheap death/sacrifice endings because they thought it deep or something. I think they just lazy.

Just to let ya'll know now. The English translation for the end of the game is not great (typical dragons dogma smh) The intent of the game to contrast the first one is not conveyed well. A Reddit post on the DD1 subreddit does an amazing job breaking down the story and why it lacks the "free will" of the first.

@@Artemisarrowzznope, that was the true ending. You break the cycle, fixing the world. In dd1 you don't really break the cycle you kinda just restart or replace the god. In this you kill it all allowing the world to move forward with our the dragon, the god or the arisen. That why your pawn in the end gains a will of there own. They are there own people now no longer held down by the arisens will and destiny .

you need to finish the elven quest line to enable the extraction
talk to him 3 times, make sure to sleep each time and it will trigger him to leave.
Very short game
hm... i think the game is as long as you make it to be honest. if you just follow the main questline its hella short. if you explore the game and sidequests, dungeons, spend time in the postgame, etc, it's not very short at all. my first playthrough was just short of 100 hours and I enjoyed every minute of it. That seems pretty meaty to me.
Had 40 hours before I finished the game. Did you just do a ADHD run and skipped side content/exploration?
