@@soixsantes I know he wanted to protect Neal and having the power at the start was fine but eventually it got to the point where the power wasn’t worth it like Neal said in one of the flashback episodes in season 1 he didn’t need his father to have power to protect him he didn’t want to be protected this was around the time Rumple was being corrupted he was murdering innocent people and Neal had to somewhat witness it at a young age the power meant nothing to Neal obviously Rumple thought it was best but he couldn’t see the bigger picture he didn’t want his father to have power anymore as he saw that it was turning him into a monster and the saddest thing is Rumple chose the power over Neal I know he eventually made peace with that later on and redeemed himself in season 7 as he knew it was a mistake letting Neal go when he was a boy but in the end the power wasn’t worth it

I'm still salty that we never seen Gideon ever again even during the finale, like how I wish the writer could integrate his character in this season maybe working with Henry and Hook, having that uncle and nephew relationship... *sigh*
