First off, let me say thank you for including the sound in this video. Super helpful in diagnosing the problem.

Of all the videos of mechanics doing that work, yours is without a doubt the best related video. Straight to the point with logical and easy-to-follow explanations. I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue and the mechanics I have visited are a bunch of incompetents, they can't even use common sense to solve problems. Car owners are required to learn how to repair their own cars or have to change the car every year.
I take my hat off to citizens like you, A+

bout to do this job and replace the control arms, stabilizers, tie rods (inner and outer). Probably take all day but took me and my buddy a couple of inspections before we figured out it was the bushings. The others need replacing after 120k miles. That noise will drive your crazy trying to figure out what it is.

I'll be doing this on a 2012 sentra. Probably very similar. I've watched a ridiculous amount of vehicle repair videos over the years, and this was one of the best I've seen. Excellent job. New subscriber.

    Thank you for the Video.
I had the Lower Control Arms replaced for a really bad popping/ clanking sound.
That fixed that, but the other noise is still there.
The mechanic was honest enough to let me know that there were two sources of the noise, and that the Control Arms were the clanking sound, and were very dangerous to drive on.

Thank you for this. God bless you. That vehicle is so clean underneath! Just did an oil pan on a leaky silverado. My family thought I was in blackface, truly. I sure was happy and singing when it was done...despite needing two showers!

Shouldnt u use threadlock for those bolts or tighten to torque specs?

I've got a 2012 Qashqai, the worldwide version of the Rogue, and it's getting rattly on bumpy roads, even though I put in new shocks and struts and replaced the trailing arm bushings, one of which was responsible for a weird groaning noise every now and then. So I think this may be a summer weekend project. Any thoughts on polyurethane bushings?

Great video. I have the same issue and planning to fix it myself. just wondering what size sockets you used to take the bushing + sleeves out. And the cup sizes to install them back on. Any recommendation on the bushing as well? Thanks again.

I have a 2017 that seems to be doing that or something similar. I am not sure if I would do this myself but it at least sheds some light on what to test and how I may be able to explain it to a mechanic. It is bizarre, no play the joints at all, all suspension parts seem OK according to the dealer. I wonder if they ever thought about those bushings. I would have to assume no. Maybe tomorrow I can get a look under the vehicle if the weather is not bad and see if bad bushings are my gremlins. Would this be something that could make the steering feel imprecise too? I am thinking maybe that is sway bar bushings if you have a clip on doing the front and rear sway bar bushings on a 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport (Qashqai as it is known over seas). Being someone who had a 2013 Passat before I got this it is easy to see that I like the precise steering of a Volkswagen and want to bring my Nissan back to normal or get rid of the F-ing thing once and for all!!

Great video! I'm gonna do it! I have a question, though. I have previously replaced the ball joints and found them to be big trouble. So, can I unbolt the lower control arms from the subframe and swivel them out of the way without taking out the ball joints?

It’s ridiculous. Hopefully with all the information online we can get rid of these incompetent over priced mechanics.
No offense to the decent people out there but I’ve yet to find someone I truly trust and I’m over 50!
      I just got a price for $1600 for parts and then 8 hrs@ $160
That’s just for the subframe. Apparently they don’t just fix the bushings. The entire things has to be replaced.

Gonna drive it until it kills me.
