THANK YOU FOR WATCHING.
I always struggle and this made it clear and easy to follow Tysm :]
Great tutorial!! I like how direct it was, it helped me a lot
useful, thanks for sahring 👍
Nice, I will use this technique in the next piece! If I may ask, the inner shadow part is just sampling the color from the item you want to shade and setting it to a bit darker, then using the brush?
Yes, that's right
@@focusmanga tysm! Gonna save me a lot of time!
What GPU do you use?
About step 2 Shadow, i though when shading i have to change the hue of the shading on each part of the drawing. I didnt know we could just do all of it with 1 darker color.
Yh, changing the hue is easy if the shadows are on one different layer
Great tutorial Im just curious about one thing what are your settings on the Round mixing brush? It behaves differently then mine hence the question
I just use the default round brush in clip Studio. The I increased the density of the soft eraser.
@@focusmanga I guess I tweaked something on my end ill just reset to default thanks for the reply! :)
1:42 not making a mask is a big mistake there buddy. Never delete the data, because if u want to pick up the same color in multiply, you cant.
Why make every color on a different layer? Doesn't that bloat your layer count?
It makes it easier if u want to change colours
There is one big problem with this method. The colors for shadow and light must change their hue. In this method, the hue remains the same because the blending layers do not change it. That is hue for flat color, shadow and light is the same. This is a mistake that makes the drawing not natural and dull.
You can easily fix this by using tone curves
@@focusmanga It can't be easily fixed with any color correction. If you have all colors on 1 layer, then orienting on one color and correcting it, you will incorrectly correct the opposite colors on the color wheel. If you have colors are located separately, each on its own layer, it is still impossible to correct them, because light tones, flat and dark must have their own hue.
If you understand light and shadow well, you can choose your colors wisely and never end up with a dull painting. This example used greys, doesn't mean you have yo.
Maybe I'll make a video covering light and shadows
