I love the passport style design of the Pixel Fold, would have been nice to see them stick to the stubby form factor.
I agree. If they change the design i will have to keep my current fold unfortunately
I really like the flat sides compared to the curves of the p8p, but I REALLY don't like the island camera bar compared to the connected one
Yeah they changed it just as the pixel was being related to that camera visor
I don't like the island camera bar either but I also didn't like the design of the pixel 7 or the pixel 8 when they first came out. Originally when I saw the pixel 7 I thought they ruined the design, but now I think it's the best design on a pixel.
Pixel 9 series look better than ever.
Having said that, I'm will keep my Pixel 6a until the Pixel 10 Pro probably.
What I'm excited to know about is the Pixel Tablet 2 and see if it will come to more countries this time around, just like the Pixel Watch 2 did.
Speaking of PW2, I'm very happy with this piece of tech and I don't see reason to upgrade any time soon.
I was thinking about doing that with my 6a, but mine is damaged(my fault lol) so I'm probably gonna get the base 9, then get 10 Pro. With that supposed new chip that'll hopefully be really good.
The curved sides feel much more comfortable imo and match the rounded design of Material You. Plus they were doing something different but now it feels like they are becoming iPhones.
The Pixel 6a gets features updates till July 2025 and, more importantly, security updates till July 2027! As long as everything's still funtional, you're set for a decent amount longer
My Galaxy S21 stops getting updates next year, then I'm hopping on the Pixel wagon
@@warlock_r Supposedly the iPhone design allows for more efficient hardware, because more space
@@user-sw6qj2vq7j I'm intrigued about the G5 chip too
This is a poor quality video, some repeating parts. Some confusing parts such as saying that the pixel 9 will be taller wider and thinner than the pixel 8 but then calling the pixel 9 more compact
Oh thank you. I was saying the same thing I rewinded it like what, didn't you just say the same thing twice?
Honestly, after the 8 Pro, I think I'm gonna stick with my 8 Pro until it dies or after the 7 years of updates. Phones are getting too expensive to upgrade this often without major changes.
100% agree
I always buy flagship phones, because I am a "super user" but I usually get at least 3-5 years out of each phone. Currently still using galaxy s20ultra and it's doing just fine. Everything is still speedy. I am hoping pixel9proxl has a better battery and large screen, if they do ill try a pixel
i like having both of you on the video. 🙂👍
Doesn't seem possible that the larger models are taller and wider, yet have a smaller screen size. This has to be incorrect... Unless they're adding dual front facing speakers.
I really hope they do just that.
Or maybe a better face id system 🤔. I'd definitely upgrade from the Pixel 8 Pro to the Pixel 9 pro just for that feature.
He clearly said it has to be incorrect and take it with a grain of salt....
Yeah it's incorrect
❤ Thank you, Damien and Jordan.❤️
I like this format of you guys bouncing between each other. Great job.
I loved the essential phone look and feel!
Well explained 🎉... I am interested in fold... The screen size seems Handy and very good
I like the way both of they guys do the video , good job
WE DEMAND PIXEL TABLET 2 THIS GOOGLE I/O
I would prefer it be a pre-order, and then once Tensor G4 is out they start shipping. But if they revealed it that upcoming Google I/O then yes
As long as it comes with a 90 Hz or better display. Using the current one is a lagfest compared to a 120 Hz display. Would also be nice if there was a keyboard accessory, I could see using it on planes and traveling for work then.
@@JordanVasquez Sounds similar to iPad... Which is kinda what we need. Of course with improvements to Nest and docking capabilities
I wish there was a midrange fold by Google, maybe a pixel 8a fold with tensor G3 under the hood.
Super excited about
- PIXEL 9 PRO XL
- Larger PIXEL WATCH 3
- PIXEL BUDS PRO 2
Colours..still getting used to the 8pro BAY colour....I wish it was slightly darker....
Me too!!! I'm waiting for the same Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel Watch 3 and the pixel buds Pro !! I currently have the Pixel 6 Pro, the 1st gen pixel watch and the pixel buds pro
If these rumors are true, I'll finally jump in on the fold series. Loved my galaxy fold but hated the camera and had to upgrade. Wanted the pixel fold but all the reviews I watched were disappointed with it's overall feature set. Very interested in this one.
I was kind of sad that the Pixel Fold 1 didn't take off very well
I really love the looks of this one - especially the smaller 9 Pro
I've been wanting smaller flagship phone for years now. So I'm excited about the 9 Pro.
I would be more excited about the Fold if it had kept the Passport style form. Disappointed they are leaving the passport form. I thought the form factor of the first Pixel fold was actually a nice differentiator to other foldables and actually a more preferred form factor. It definitely seemed to need refinement especially the bigger screen portion. Although I'm glad they are at least continuing with foldables, since Google often has short attention spans on certain projects.
Google should really consider keeping the passport size… and let it be their mini in the line up. many and myself included are tired of the big phones
When is it out?
I buy it as soon it is out
Unbelievable beauty design pixel 9 series...one of the my favourite mobile
I had high hopes for the continuing evolution of the current design aesthetic. It's really sad to now see flat sides and a camera island. The blocky design isn't nearly as aesthetically pleasing, and more importantly it will not be nearly as comfortable in hand or in pocket.
They should be called Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro Plus, and Pixel 9 Fold in my opinion. Although 9 Pro XL is fine too. If Google wants to put a temperature sensor in their phones, hopefully it's included in the Pixel Fold 2
Has Google ever called their Pixel 2 XL as Plus? Maybe Pixel 3 XL or Pixel 4 XL? I don't think so.
I know they haven't called them Plus, however it could help for people who haven't used Pixel before and aren't used to XL
nice pfp lol
@@marioleal101 if you're talking about mine, thanks lol I put so much effort into screenshotting my Pixel Watch face
@@user-sw6qj2vq7j yes that's why I love it. You pulled it off very well
Feels like the hole punch selfie camera has had it's day. Even the OnePlus 7/7T Pro had a borderless display and that was made in 2019, feels like we took a step back in that regard.
I will get the Google pixel 9 XL on December 26th almost half price, great deal in Canada.
If the Pixel Fold rumors are true, then I'm very excited! It's a device that definitely deserves attention and high quality features. I'm also surprised that none of the leaks or rumors I've been watching for a couple months now mentioned how the camera design change is the perfect way for Google to make space for a stylus/pen. It's the same location as where Samsung's stylus goes and the perfect size for a stylus with some space on both sides. I mean, who knows obviously, but I'm definitely dreaming about it! 🤩 That was the biggest missing piece of the original Fold for me. At minimum, I expect USI support even if Google doesn't make their own pen. And with the rumored desktop mode that Google is also working on, now that's an incredible device unlike anything else! 🔥🔥
Super excited to pick up the Pixel Fold 2! 😎👍🏻
I'm not loving the Pixel 9 series design. I think the 8 series looks better. The flat edges are neat but they're also probably a pain to hold compared to the curved edges. Then there's the camera bar. I like Google's current implementation where it blends into the phone's body instead of having it look like it was just glued on. Maybe i'll keep my current phone until the Pixel 10 series.
Just hope the battery is up there with the s24s or one plus and they have louder speakers
P8P will do me just fine for the next couple years. Ill wait to see what the 10 brings to the table. New features are too limited it seems to shell out 1000 every year.
I'm hoping the P9 camera island will look better in person like the P7p did
I'm definitely going for the 9pro
Damn, I wish the Essential Phone line was continued
I love the pixel a series, it's affordable + it is Plus pixel. Keep it affordable.
Sad to see the most beautiful phone design to be ditched for a boring brick
Very good options
Passport fold for me was ace, as is the "bubbly" curves of my P8P. I'm not a fan of the potential changes to be honest
Having 8 pro already changing just for other design it's doesn't make any sense. I will stay with mine probably till 11/12 version 😜
Hello Damien and Jordan,
For so many years I have wanted A pro level Pixel phone at a base level size. I love smaller phones and for me the smaller the better. Having said that there are two considerations or concerns I have. That temperature sensor was an interesting idea but I am not a fan of the way Google treats it's international customers. In the US they have access to body temperature measuring where as we don't here in the UK. If you can't give it fully to everyone then leave it off. Now let's talk colours. I am hoping for some nice colour options this year round. I still love the Bay blue of the Pixel 8 Pro and think it was the best colour for last year. Let's have some striking colour options this year please.
I hope they come out with a green color similar to the forest green iPhones
Awesome design
Google should collaborate with Huawei for kirin modems and heat management.
I'm more intrigued on the Pixel Tab 2.
Sorry am i misunderstanding here, the size of pixel 9 will be taller and widther but the screen size will drop to 6 inch?
The 9 Pro is what I'm interested in. It'll be the only way to get a compact Pixel Pro model.
If they give us the SD Gen 3. This will be an instant buy for me
Those super rounded corners look stupid.
Has anyone else have trouble with the screen on a foldable? I have a flip 4 and looking to upgrade after awhile scratches appear where it folds I usually keep a phone 2-3 years before upgrades
Looking forward to trading in my P8P for a smaller P9P!
2:49 most important question is
will the new Exynos 5400 modem stop overheating on 5G network internationally or will it continue to heat up like predecessors
Nice a small pixel 9 pro
It seems that my pixel 6 is going to be replaced with 9 pro 🤔
I love the new pixel fold pro!
That camera bump is insane
Going for pixel fold 2 I own the first one
I hate this camera bar like the pixel fold 😢
Previous bar designs were the way to go for them
Yeah I feel you but the reason they have to change the camera bar I'm guessing is because of them changing the rails from curved to flat. The camera bar wouldn't work with flat rails of the phone.
@@ace0341
They are gonna be very irritating to hold if they are like the iphone 12-14 series
@@afridihossain4155 I guess it's a mixed bag, some people like the flat sides and some people like the curves. I've never used a flat side phone but if I do I'm sure I could get used to it.
Yay!! I didn't get the 8 but I'm getting the 9
I'm really looking forward to the Pixel Fold 2..or Pixel 9 Pro Fold! Whatever they end up calling it! 😁
really hoped the fold 2 would stay as a passport style
Temperature sensor again I rather have extra storage or something I just can't see many who will actually use it
As a pixel 8 user, I think the biggest problem is their Samsung made chip. Just go for TSMC.
I'm not saying some extreme performance they need to push. It's all about heat, in daily usage. Couldn't even charge(wired not wireless) above 5% when simply using it as a 4G hotspot. It comes to the same problem with snapdragon 888. Since it's not the first time, I'll blame Samsung for the problem instead of Google's chip design.
I'd kinda like them to drop the 9 and make the small 9 Pro the new 9. Have a 9a, 9, 9 XL, 9 Fold
Some people do not know that is removable back glass since..... Pixel 4
I would like Google to improve more on Pixel 8a then the boxy 9
1:18 HUH How is the pixel 9 "a bit taller, a bit wider" but still "more compact"?!
Smaller bezels I guess
But will it be available and supported in more regions? If not, then this will still be a niche product and not relevant to a majority of users.
I LOVE my pixel 8 Pro. But I can't wait to get the Pixel 9 pro in the smaller size.
I love flat edges on phones, glad Google is going with them too
the temperature sensor is quite useless, rather have a lidar sensor
I’m waiting for,fold,2
Transitioning from a iPhale 12 Pro macks to a Pixel 9 Pro XL - cameras..... Win....
I hope that the Pixel 9 Pro XL is 6.7" and not 6.5", the former is a great, if not perfect, size for a large phone.
I don't know why Google wants to copy Apple, the P8P is one of the most comfortable and easily recognizable phones (due to the signature visor design) I've held in years, I don't even feel the need to use a cover. If the P9P is less comfortable due to sharp edges and loses its visor design then is it worth it anymore? Or is it a design change to allow 3rd part accessories to be better integrated, I personally don't feel confident with a sharp edged phone and most probably will buy a cover, just like an iphone.
Maybe the Pixel 9 Fold will be the better buy in that case.
Hate the design change
headliner for the reveal presentation: "we didn't forget about the 9."
waiting for pixel to switch to TSMC from samsung exynos for chipsets...
What about the pixel tablet 2
The temperature sensor's success will depend on "how much more useful it gets"? Ummmmmm, it's a temperature sensor. It takes the temperature of stuff, and now people. I feel like that is pretty much a wrap on expanding its usefulness.
The way the Pixel drops in price and the way big features are missing, I gave the Pixel line a try with the 7 pro and I think i'll be switching back to Samsung. The phone doesn't have display out via USB-C, it doesn't have dual bluetooth out, I can't create folders within the app drawer, and as I write this, my NFC isn't working. I'm also having really bad GPS issues. It's always loses signal and it stays like that for a long time. I'm thinking of trying out the budget lines such as the OnePlus.
Regular iPhone and iPhone Pro have always been the best sellers. Better than iPhone Pro Max. It was dumb that Google only made bigger phones for Pixel 6 & 7 series.
That caves bar needs some chamfers, diamond cuts or something. Wasted space = cheap and lack of craftsmanship
I'm ready to go from Pixel 7 to the Pixel 9 Pro.
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
probably skipping 9 for 10.... And maybe I might even get the fold 2025 depends on the hardware...
Why do you use earbuds?
They make listening to music better. 🙃
@@Droogs also when reviewing a phone on UA-cam?😂
A series should only get 2 cameras, the regular should have 3 the pro is 4 and the pro xl 5
People are not liking these designs but it seems pretty sick to me
yeah, it's pretty sick alright🤮🤮
They Never fixed the Lens Bump in the Back 😢 They are a dirt magnet 🤧
I'm waiting for the Pixel 9 so I can get the 8 for cheap to replace my 4a lol
I'm excited for the 9
I’ve been waiting years for Google to give me a reason to drop Apple, and I really hope this is the year it happens.
Hope the modem and general hardware improves..
I have a feeling it's going to be Pixel 9 Fold and Pixel 9 Fold Pro
Google really need to hit it out the park with the Pixel 9. I want a smaller display, like the S24 but also want a better chip and a telephoto camera. I have a Pixel 7 and will move away from Google if the 9 isn't that great. Google also ruined the camera especially the autofocus on the Pixel 7 with a software update
Lmao we saw these leeks in 2020 during the pandemic. That's how terrible Google is at keeping their products under wraps 😂
I think we need a volume normalisation between the two of you. The American bloke is basically shouting at me. 😅
"American bloke shouting", what else is new in your world?
hate this Iphone brick design
Hate the new design in these pixels, looks like 8pro is my last pixel, unfortunately
It gets so annoying they keep shrinking 😑😑😑😑
I've had most of the Pixel phones, and I like the design. I don't like that boxy looks.
Taller, wider, yet somehow more compact. Huh?
