  • Fly with us in my 1964 S35 VTail Bonanza as we fly the FISK Arrival into Airventure for the first time ever! Thankfully, my co-pilot Peter, though still working on his PPL, has a natural gift for CRM. Watch as he finds us a hole and we fly the entire arrival through touchdown on the green dot, and taxi to our camp spot in the North 40!

    We live on the tracks between Ripon and Fisk and love watching the planes go over and listening to the Fisk tower.
    My husband was able to spot his parent's farm just outside of Ripon!
    Love being able to see it from this view. We've lived here our whole lives and never been to EAA!

      How awesome! I would love to watch the train head in to Oshkosh. But you simply HAVE to experience EAA. I love Wisconsin!!! Thanks for watching AND for putting up with our noise all week.

    Great Job! It's good to see safe pilots operating. Thank you for adding the ground track. Such good situational info. It's amazing that through all the videos I've watch how many pilots are so far behind the curve when it comes to following the procedures, places everyone else at risk.

    36:01 I feel your pain man. I arrived in a Cessna 150 a few years back and got lined up on the Fisk Arrival behind a 172. I swear we were slowing to around 65-70 knots and we were STILL catching up to the guy. It was really annoying. The NOTAM says 90 knots, which a 172 can absolutely do. There didn't appear to be anyone immediately in front of them, so they were just being difficult for difficulty's sake.

    Hey guys, I don't know if you still have that V35 but I couldn't help hearing a tinny vibration noise in the background which disappeared when you lowered the gear. I used to own a C33 and put up with that identical noise which also disappeared when i lowered the gear. It turned out to be a faulty microswitch at the throttle cable (forward of the firewall). Vibration was causing the switch to try and bring the gear warning horn on but it wasn't enough to make the horn actually sound like the horn. Changing the microswitch cured the problem but it took the best part of a year (and three different FBOs) to work out what was causing it. John.

    Awesome video, loved it! What was the controller asking you at 35:45?

    • @CLEAREDDIRECT
      @CLEAREDDIRECT  3 роки тому +1

      Good question. He asked us if we’re a flight. In other words, “Are you together in formation?” We were not, so I said, “negative.” I knew we might get this question because the Bonanza in front of my was flying 10knots too slow the entire time which was 1) uncomfortable (not great maneuverability that slow), and 2) caused me to have to fly even slower to gain some distance from him. The guy behind me then of course became tight (close). It was especially irritating because the Bonanza in front of me had no one in front of him. Last, he then screwed up the final leg of the arrival. Anyway, it all worked out. Thanks for the question!
