I eat by my blood type which is A. Is a book by Dr. James D Alamo. Is mostly a Vegetarian approach, he breaks down the foods into Medecine (Highly Recomended), Beneficial (Recommended) and Not Beneficial (Poison) It is base on the aminoacids, lectins, proteins of the foods and how the impact your organs in a Positve or Negative way. I started this approach 20 something years ago, it works for me. I reset it every once a while to a bit more vegan and listen to my body which I think is very important. Like you I stop drinking coffee and detox my self from sugar many years ago Thank You for sharing.

I would love to see how you do and what you think of the frugivore diet, you can search Dr. Morse and his Miracle Detox, he has a theory that we are meant to eat all raw and mostly alkalizing fruits (some vegetables at best in juice form, but not juiced is also ok). I am working on it and it is quite nice, but seeing what you have to say about it would be a great help!
Edit: One big thing is, if your organism is kinda acidified, you might suffer malabsorbtion which might derive in weight loss with this diet, until you are clean and your body is able to absorb everything you put in. There is a lot to learn/read to actually know what it is about and what it can happen to you while doing it.

For health issue, i tried lots of diets. i would say i'm Vegan-ish stage. Now, everytime I eat dairy (I'm french so really hard to cut the cheese) my stomach says no Sir! i started to have trouble with processed sardines, tuna in olive and if the meat is not grass-fed, same i feel bad.
I work in a big french walmart, and marketing is fascinating. we had the gluten-free products and now brands are making vegetarian "healthy" nuggets or falafels made of what...Wheat = Gluten.
Yes, i would love a tutorial for the rope!
Last question: I've been diagnosed with a meniscal lesion with Chrondopathy stage 3 to 4, that why i started to watch your flexibility video. yesterday, i did the 1min deep squat routine. i felt great even if the Doctor said i shouldn't. What do you think? Peace, keep the good work

So they have found evidence of cavemen with grains in their belly there were some studies done by some dentists on teeth and how their teeth were different than ours and their jaw lines because of how tough the food was to chew back then and how they had less cavities even though they had worse dental hygiene anyway I just think that's interesting also with paleo isnt that very negative on certain organs I like the heart

I've been doing keto for 7 years. One thing I would recommend before starting any dietary plan is a basic blood and lipid panel before and 30 days into it. Make sure everything is moving in the right direction.

I've been eating paleo for over 2 years. It's made a huge difference in my health, weight, energy, and joint pain and my blood work and blood pressure. I love not feeling tired and achy. I'll never go back. Occasionally, family gatherings require that I eat something unhealthy. I just go back to paleo the next day and start with a short fast to cleanse my body. As Josh said, the most important thing is to eat with intention. He's right that it's hard to eat out. 99% of restaurant food is unhealthy and full of sodium and sugar.
Paleo makes a documented HUGE difference for folks with chronic inflammatory conditions and food sensitivities and all chronic modern diseases. I recommend the book by Dr. Terry Wahls. She's THE authority on paleo and reversed her own MS with it. She offers multiple levels of restriction.
I'd also offer caution eating too much processed food labeled as "paleo". While it has healthier ingredients, it's usually still processed. Become a label reader. If you can't understand or pronounce the ingredients, put it back.
The best thing you can put in your body is fresh whole food and nothing processed or full of chemicals. And avoid dairy, grains, and all forms of sugar except some whole fruit. Use mostly virgin olive oil and avocado oil and some coconut for cooking. You can also eat clarified butter that has the milk solids removed. It's easier and tastier to make your own with a double boiler than buy the nasty rancid ghee they sell in jars in the stores.

    Love it bro!!
As someone in mid 20s I can say that unless you're clouding your mental clarity with too much caffeine, bad sleep, media over stimulation etc.. youll already feel a MASSIVE difference in capacity, recovery and bounciness of overall life!
Love sticking to paleo as a baseline and minimally going left & right to make use of momentum that 'giving in a little' gives. I currently value the momentum of saying YES more than the rigidity of NO. For ex. there's a "warming" effect to some grains like oats or heavy fiber-bound seeds like buckwheat or quinoa or black/red/wild rice. You can lightly ferment these to significantly reduce the sugars in them too :D !!
When I do go for oatmeal for ex. I wont do 90% oats but maybe 30%. Rest can be seeds like shredded flaxseed, chia, chopped up nuts galore and some cooked fruit like apple (cooked especially because it releases pectin fiber - great for gut) or banana.
    Keep tinkering

I’ve been off and on Paleo over the last 10 years and intermittent fasting for the last 5 along with it. I can honestly tell you this. I absolutely hate life when I do not take care of myself, or feel and look like a tub of shit. I fall into really bad habits due to just being lazy, which in turn creates anxiety followed by depression, weight gain, self pity and an overall poor outlook on things.
The Paleo diet with a 16 - 8 intermittent fasting schedule, working out at least 3 days a week absolutely works for mental health, physical health/weight loss, attitude and overall outlook.
There is something about sticking to it that maybe builds a confidence that creates momentum which in turn has no choice but to become a habitual way of living.
    Great video.

What I recommend is something proposed in “Diet Cults” called Agnostic Healthy eating. This means you start with a list of the healthiest foods and use trial and error to deduce the best diet for yourself. Each human has a u Jair ancestry and looking to your ancestors and their climate can be helpful as well. Try different combinations of macros, at different times, etc. Since you will have a unique genetic makeup and different lifestyle, exercise needs, age, sex, etc, likewise, there will be a unique optimal diet for each person. One person may thrive on dairy while another better to be vegan, etc.

  • @djhellion5
    @djhellion5 2 роки тому +15

Nice video- let me offer some insights. There are a couple of problems with the paleo diet. 1- there was no single diet shared by our paleo ancestors. Hunter gatherers who migrated to different climates varies significantly in their macro combinations. The Inuit are a diet that was primarily composed of fats, the Polynesians ate mostly carbs, and the Native Americans of Montana ate a protein heavy diet, for some examples. They are all healthy diets that matches their respective climates. Another issue is that humans have domesticated all of our foods from fruits and vegetables to our animal foods. Look up the wild cousins of the carrot, potato, etc and you’ll see what I mean. Also, animals have changed quit a bit since we began herding livestock instead of hunting wild animals, and one side effect of this is that domesticated animals have a much higher fat content, as just one example, so eating a lot of beef today will put a lot more animal fat in your diet than eating the same portion of a wild bison steak. My other critique is that humans have adapted since paleo times to be able to eat grains, beans, and yes, even dairy, if you are descended from north European whites, so it is not true that we cannot eat these foods, as the paleo diet suggests. Evolution did not stop after the paleo era. I hope some of this is helpful for your understanding. I recommend checking out the books “Paleofantasy” and “Diet Cults”- they are both excellent and cover these topics in detail. Cheers.

Thanks for another great tip guys!
I like the sound of this and will be sure to keep it in mind for in the upcoming g months.
I'm still on the "no sugar, alcohol, coffee" month for now, but honestly I need to pace myself... after a decades of eating all sorts, not necessarily terribly but not well balanced to say the least! Having done things like oats to hold onto rather than sugary cereal of deaded bread with a (albeit otherwise paced healthily) sandwich rather than a "subway"is I feel a necessarily stepping stone.
I think its important to point out whilst what you point out Josh is absolutely correct and very true, swapping everything overnight in attempt to better ourselves will have a large ratio of failure imho because lets be frank here, it's far more easy to take these in s steps rather than a straight up 180. Slow is smooth - smooth is fast!
As i say I'll definitely keep this in mind for the upcoming months, one step at a time in order to achieve a lifestyle the we can each be proud of to have made happen!
Sorry for the monologue haha, as someone who's spent his 20s abusing alcohol, junkfood and social media at the cost of my mental and physical fitness its nice to have the subtle clarity to step back and being able to pick out right from "easy"
Love from the UK guys, thank you for making the world a better place!

I’ve been on the paleo autoimmune diet since January and I haven’t looked back. With each food I eliminated I felt better and better. Alcohol, dairy and gluten were first years ago. Then this year all other grains, nuts and seeds, eggs, nightshades, poly unsaturated oils… I’ve never had so much energy. I’ve added back in a the occasional brown rice or aged cheese and nightshades, but thats it.
I am mostly blown away on how much easier cooking actually got. Way less options, but they all taste absolutely delicious and are relatively easy and quick to prepare. Just fruit, veg & meat. Easy. They taste so good and leave me feeling vibrant so it’s hard to get sick of the small selection.

Thank you for this video. I started three days ago and my mood swings are gone. Also the pull to food is gone. For a binge eater, that's a big deal. I notice that wheat, grains and sugar is addictive for me. I listened to a podcast and the Interviewer said, "What do you say to people that say I want to enjoy sugar and flour from time to time and be happy?" The woman replied, "sugar is a poor proxy for happiness". That was so profound. Food is not happiness and is it worth the hit only to be miserable and overweight? For some of us, sugar and flour products are like a drug. I feel so much healthier just in three days. Depression and anxiety has completely lifted. Plan to continue. I had to be real with myself and admit that those things are triggers for me. I'd much rather feel happy mentally and be comfortable in my skin.

I eat tons of veg and fruit but and rely on eggs, cottage cheese and Greek yogurt for the bulk of my protein. My diet isn't as clean as paleo but since I cut out alcohol, sugar and most processed foods I feel great. Tbh I am a million times less gassy and my mood has been fantastic. I struggled with depression for years and I think part of it may have been my diet. I can't say for sure but I definitely enjoy it

I've done the paleo diet thing as of lately but I'm still stuck on my coffee in the morning... is there any good alternatives to coffee that give you that same desired effect....

The primal diet cured my increasingly worsening joint and muscle pain in just a few days. Sure, it could be a coincidence that it stopped right after I started this diet, but I highly doubt it.

Do you ever just do rope jumping as exercise? I found that when I was younger, say in my 20’s, that jumping rope for 5, 10, and even 15 minutes was some of the best exercise I’ve ever done. However, now that I’m 60 I’m not sure I can jump rope due to hip, knee, and ankle issues. 🧐

Read Mark's book years ago when I was training a lot, but gaining weight and feeling tired. Really benefitted me, became leaner and more energised. Slipped in resent years but back on the programme now. Mainly veggies, nuts and seeds. A little oily fish. I don't agree with everything Mark advocates these days, but just find what is right for you.

Roto diet: the point is that human digest system depends on ferments, which updated every 4 days. It means, that you need to consume one type of protein not more then over 4 days. For example:1st day animal protein (Chicken), 2nd day growth protein (beans), 3d day fish protein, 4th day vegan, and only then you can reply the same protein like in the 1st day....

bread is pretty tough. I was just travelling the last 2 weeks and had some good sourdough bread here and there and boy it's tasty. Ultimately doens't make me feel great though, agree!

I do good with grains and dairy but the key for me for lower inflammation is to only eat organic bread and organic grains. Regular wheat products in particular is gmo and sprayed with glyphosates which trigger system inflammation. And the dairy I consume is local and organic only, but outside of that a Mediterranean/paleo mashup. Food is highly individual and mainly based on our ancestry and what we are evolved to eat.

I was down 4 lbs but gained it back. But I was drinking Dr Pepper so I’ll have to start tomorrow! I hope this helps me.

Great video and really in line with the newest nutrition advice! Highly processed and full of additives food cannot be good for us and obviously causes also mental issues. This has been proven in regards to how our microbiom, which is currently considered an organ, affects our mental health as well. It was nicely summarized in 'Spoon Fed' by Tim Spector. I stick with these ideas even though I don't eat meat but have a lot of grains in my diet. However I always try to use in their least processed form. My diary and egg intake is minimal with the focus on whole foods plant based. Have been using time restrictive eating method for over 3 years now. Last year switched completely form consuming evening meals to mornig and seems to be working better. My energy levels are so stable I can go on for hours without eating even though I stay acive.

My body is sensitive to stress so it's very easy to see what is not helping or not. I switched my diet toward more fats that are not necesarily paleo, nuts, avocado, olive oil and I reduced flour, rice and when I eat them I make sure there are some fats in there as well. This seems to work better for me.

Been benefiting from the 18/6 intermittent fasting (thanks for that!), but more with a Mediterranean style diet. Have introduced some very lean meat back into my diet after giving it a 4 year break. I love a few oz's of filet mignon, but it's more difficult to digest, at least for my system. Enjoying home grown sweet potatoes now!

Well somethings ha definetly changed because your skin looks much brighter and clear in this video, and it almost looks like the usual bagines in our eyes has dissapeared. Don't get me wrong Josh, I've always liked your content since I discovered your channel and find many great stuff and knowledge from the many things that you share with us, but one thing that has also intrigued me since I began watching your channel is that your skin, specially the one in your face looks very ashen and you have a sleepy expression in your face most of the time, and I'm like "Is this dude feeling as good as he's saying? 'Cause he sure looks like a person that hasn't slept in 2 days in a row" haha. Again, don't get me wrong, but if this changes in your face are due to your body "destoxifying" thanks to the paleo diet, I do think it's worth a try!
