Almost needed to get Ice diving certified after a few of our shore dive sites were frozen over this past winter. Looks like a fun course to take.
I kinda wish they had shown more of the underside of the ice; that seemed more interesting than the little boat. Cool episode, though!

I'm in Florida right now and we just went snorkeling with manatees in the Crystal River, at Kings Bay! Isn't it the same place you went to before? I know Coyote Peterson made a Manatee video there. It was a beautiful life changing moment that I'll never forget!
Kings Bay is the main spring, and we have been there many times. We mostly flm at Three Sisters Spring, which is just down a canal from Kings Bay.

I just can't imagine how cold it must be. I had experienced -8 degree C in Boston on land and i already been cursing out a lot. Much respect Cameraman Bill and warm greetings from the tropics.
Actually is warmer in the water than it is in the surface believe it or not
@@scubasteveandunderwaterroc3547 i see your point here... once i was night diving at 23 deg C only with rashguard and shorties.. i don't know if it was the excitement or what, but i didn't feel the cold underwater. After surfacing and the cold plus the chilly wind... damn..
But i thought you suppose to lose heat faster underwater...

Jonathan, I went to Belize in Placencia where I stayed on an island called Tom Owens Caye doing reef conservation with a group of people. It was absolutely amazing. I met some wonderful people and I got my advanced scuba diving certification. I also saw a hammer head and went on my first night dive! I can't tell you how amazing it was and I am definitively coming back, I recommend you go there. It is called Reef CI

I taught hundreds of dive classes without ever having to use a chainsaw, and only used a drysuit cleaning an otter exhibit. Y'all can keep that cold water. But great video, thanks!

@Brian Landers nah. there are good Dry suits for 800-900€.
A lot of people dive with a 14mm here in Canada for ice diving.
@@PHH1103 Broh you wont find a single dry Suits in the Netherlands for 800/900€ maybe for about 1100€ but not cheaper i think

Ice diving is phenomenal. Did my cert this past February in a wetsuit.
You are brave! I did my first ice dive in a wetsuit too. I used duct tape to tape up all the seams (wrists, neck, ankles) to limit water movement. I think I managed about 10 minutes before I was frozen. Fortunately, ten minutes was plenty in a boring lake in Massachusetts.
Reminds me of when he went on the open water dive with that kid in ice cold water with the kid wearing a wetsuit and him wearing a dry suit. Lol
That's how we toughen them up! :-)
