- In this episode I get the Ford inline 6 fired up for the first time on the Holley Sniper EFI setup! I also set fire to the Sniper EFI... I also deal with some cooling issues with the engine and replace the water pump, radiator hoses, thermostat housing, and belts. I attempt a first drive for the first time on fuel injection and discover some issues with the transmission and a large amount of burning oil.
Now, THIS engine would have been a good candidate to race the charger 😂
Nice, once you get it up to temp the Holley should start tuning itself, check your compression and your valve seals, low hanging fruit.
Good to know, hopefully the self learning will do the trick. I did a quick compression test an episode or two back, not great but could have been worse. I’ll definitely pull off the valve cover next.
Making great progress! Keep it up!!
Thanks!
i wonder if you can run some evaporust through the engine to treat the rust then drain and flush and fill with radiator fluid to get rid of all the rusting
Not sure, I’d imagine you’d want to keep it away from seals and gaskets but you could probably run it directly in the block. I usually use auto parts store radiator flush
What distributor is that?
It is an HEI distributor for a Ford inline 6, the brand is A-Team Performance
couldn't you just move all the wires around instead?
Are you planning on doing the Shelby drop mod when you dive into the front brakes?
Wasn’t planning on it, is that a drop spindle?
@@noboltsleftbehind Not a drop spindle. You actually relocate the upper control arm bolt holes. It helps with the suspension geometry (increased negative camber gain and relocation of the roll center) in your '68.
@@72SSAbody oh interesting, I’ve heard it mentioned but I always assumed it was just lowering the front end. I’ll definitely check it out, thanks for letting me know.
@@noboltsleftbehind Would you like a stainless steel template to use for the mod? If so, I can DM you on your instagram.
@@72SSAbody Sure, thanks! instagram.com/noboltsleftbehind
