Thanks for sharing Lindsey, this is hugely helpful! I admit I had a moment of "what!? " when you said you weren't going to be using the future log as an index anymore, I thought you meant you weren't indexing at all! 😭😂 I was relieved to hear you're continuing that, I love your system for finding things later and it sounds like you're going to be making it even better! Hmm now I'm kinda tempted to use that "new year" 2 page spread as an index. I don't have any other ideas for that spread yet so we'll see. Also I LOVE the mind map on the blank monthly page, I'm thinking of trying that too, to keep it more little bullet points I can actually see & keep in mind during the month. And the favourites at the back too! I love tracking my fave music during the year. All your ideas for this planner are so awesome! 😍🤩👍

got myself an a6 avec for 2021 partly thanks to you. this was such a good, throughout video and definitely gave me some inspiration... now i wish mine wasn’t packed away as a christmas present so i could already get to planning 😩 can’t wait to see how you fill this up ! ☺️

@@lindseyscribbles I'd love to know what your categories for tracking with be in your new layout. EX: Your Workout tracker I've seen in your 6-ring has space for listing different WOs (walk, run, etc) that a tracker won't have (trackers used for X'g out completed tasks). My head 🤯 when I try to organize my trackers! 😂

thanks for this! I used my cousin off and on this year (hello, 2020), but there are actually a lot of pages in the planner I don't utilize that I want to make a point of using in 2021. I like the idea of the "index" pages as a habit tracker for the year, and I really need to be better about utilitzing my weekly pages. I love having the week overview, especially coming from Erin Condren a couple years ago, but I never seem to make myself use those pages as much as i'd like. thanks for the inspiration!

I'd be unable to resist doing that 😂 also, I've just realized I can still use that spread idea even though I'm not married or dating currently, I'm going to use it for 100 moments with my best friend!! awesome video! thank you for all the ideas. so far I think you are the only one that i follow that still use the standard cousin instead of the avec. I figure its because it keeps the entire year in one book for reference whenever?
The cousin is the only book I've managed to comfortably get a whole year in, so that's the main pull for me!
Yeah I have a no buy from Christmas until February when Hobonichi releases their spring lineup, 🤣 . Like you, I am trying to avoid putting down a lot of stickers and washi.

Love your videos. Do you carry this with you all the time? Are you purposely going to keep it thin this year? I’m debating on this or avec! I love stickers and such but just wonder what it would be like to just plan in a book. Just pen and highlighter???? Lol
Thanks for watching! My cousin primarily stays at home, but I used to take it everywhere my first year. Not necessarily trying to keep it thinner I’ve just found myself slowly using less stickers from year to year. But I do make a conscious effort to keep it thin enough to protect the spine since I plan to keep them around for awhile!

Can you do a list or video on your favorite UA-cam channels for the hobonichi? I seem to have trouble finding channels that are specifically for the a5 but I can find so many for the weeks lol
Yeah I'd love to know this too! You're right, the Weeks seems way more popular (even for sticker kits too, the Cousin size is harder to find.)
@@starbucksmocha88 oh yeah, stickers too...printable stickers would be awesome. I read on a post that someone was shrinking down their normal EC kits to 83% to have them fit in their hobonichi, haven’t tried it out but it almost seems to much effort. But anyhoo, you’re right a sticker list or video would be a nice addition to her hobonichi videos.
@@wonderwonder30 oh that's an interesting idea about printing the kits at 83%. But you're right, sounds like extra work I'm not keen to do I'd rather just buy pre made sticker kits for the Cousin. I have some hope that Helen from TCMC will start making kits for the Cousin since she's gonna be using one for 2021. I'm sure it'll appear in her PWM videos too so I'm looking forward to that! :)
I don’t have a large list, but the first two that come to mind are @sterlingink and @theoryoflauren but I know some of my favorite planner people have mentioned that they’re trying the cousin this year so I’m hoping we’ll see more on UA-cam soon!

It does seem like more planner people are starting with a cousin in 2021, I don't think it's just my imagination because I'm hoping for that 😂 I just did my first order from Virgo and Paper over the Black Friday sale, I'm excited to see the kits when they arrive - I got the 2021 die cut too, inspired by how awesome it always looks on your Cousin! It's crazy how much your planning videos have helped me figure out what I want to change for 2021! Looking forward to getting closer to planner peace 👍💕

I used a blow dryer to apply some heat and stretch mine out. I did this back in 2019 and I’ve been using the same cover since. I’m not sure if Midori makes them smaller now? But it didn’t take a whole lot of stretching if I remember correctly. Thanks for watching!

Lindsey how do you not have any crossing out? Plans change and I hate crossing things out.
There’s plenty in there trust me! My rings hold most of my future events so things are pretty concrete by the time I plan it out in my cousin. I also don’t keep track of work meeting etc anymore since outlook does that for me which would be most of my canceled / rescheduled events.
My weeklies are sort of a running to do list. So if I don’t get it done on the day it’s written, but I do get it done that week I don’t worry about it too much and just check it off. Hope that makes sense.
I really want to try the Cousin but it's so expensive. I got a cute planner at TJ Maxx, so we'll see how that goes. Haven't started it yet 🙄
Sometimes those are the best planners though!
Can you please share what you use for tabs? Do they adhere to one side of the page only, and if so, do you stick them to the front or back? I'm trying to find the best combo of adhesive strength + not ripping the page. Thanks!
I use post it brand tabs from target / amazon / Walmart and stick them on the back of the page. They’re reposition able and I haven’t had an issue with them tearing the pages or leaving a residue
Very inspirational. I have a techo for 2021 so will try any adapt to my needs, without the weekly pages. Not sure I will have so much to put in it, but I’m sure 2021 will be more productive than 2020. Please can you tell me what pen you mainly use? Thank you

I love your Hobonichi Cousin, but I also love the weeks and the rings. I was wondering, can you show me how you use them? I have the Cousin, which is exclusive for work, I have rings, where I reference pages, and I have the weeks which I am not sure how to use it. I think I would like to use it as you use yours :). Thanks for watching! My latest planner system update was my previous video which explains how I use rings and the cousin at the same time. The cousin had morphed into more of a journal / archive / memory keeper for me over the years. While the rings is more of my task based planner. The weeks is a giant experiment and still deciding how it fits in 😅
Do you know where to get translations of the quotes at the bottom of the daily pages?
I’ve never looked, I think I heard somewhere that there’s a Hobonichi Facebook page where someone’s helped translate?

It doesn’t really. I’ve used Hobonichi planners for a few years now and to be honest I don’t notice it
What do you use for your tabs?
Post It repositionable tabs. I've purchased them from Target and amazon in the past.
just want to tell you, if you think the my 100 list is not enough to use, hobonichi’s japan website have PDF version that you can download in a5 size, may be you can add it in if you finish the one in the planner 😉

Thanks for the ideas and pointing out the changes you’ll be making based on your learnings thru 2019-2020. Very helpful to get that perspective! Since you’re switching from calendex back to index, will you still keep to the same color coding? Did you use the color coding anywhere else in the planner other than calendex? Examples?
Historically I’ve only color coded the entries in my index and not the spreads themselves and I plan on continuing that into next year!
