while UFC as a business is worth 4 billion, they probably don't pay 100 million in salary over 12 months.

michael davis your absolutely right. Although things are going in the right direction. Just like boxing the big draws will always make the most.
The stars make good money but there has been talking of a union and collective bargaining.
Rob Jenkins like all unionised movements, the established power can out spend them.
As well as that the guys making the most money will never speak up because it's every man and woman for themselves so it'd next to impossible to get any traction but it's not a battle they can win overnight.

The reebox sponsorship deal inhibits guys ability to get external money. I don't care how ranked a guy is. When he is getting 5k to get his head smashed in for our entertainment while the company is worth 4bn is outrageous

I watch a lot of these undercard fights for the PPVs in boxing, it's hard to watch. They're not boxing. They have cement feet, they stand into front of one another, and swing wild lefts and rights at each other. And half hit, half don't, and by the 3rd round, both guys are punched-out and gassed. It's ridiculous, that's not boxing, that's just a game of "Punch the guy harder than he can".
And yet they're still more skilled than mma fighters. Ukrainians & Cubans are very skilled, even some of the Brits are pretty skilled.

If they put all the title fights on network TV, they would get a contract that is bigger than the NFL's because the whole world would make sure to have those channels.
MrBeatboxmasta I agree they should have all their title fights/blockbuster events should be on primetime major network tv, the UFC already has a contract with Fox, all they need to do is to get a contract with NBC, ABC, and CBS, if the UFC can showcase their big time fights on the four major networks and there sports package networks on cable, then they'll quickly become mainstream in no time.
