Just... Thank you for making that amazing diorama, and for the creator to one of the RTS games that was the best part of my childhood! Battle Realms pushed me to try other RTS, thanks for creating that incredible and amazing piece of nostalgia and art! You are awesome!
If I had one wish, it would be that one day there will be enough funding for a proper remake. With four campaigns tailored to each clan, maybe even some new resources like wood and stone for the buildings, something like that. The feeling I got from this game was unlike any other, and it was what brought me from gameboy to PC back then. Congratulations on your work, it looks amazing!
It is so evident from the way Ed speaks that he is a genuinely good person. I have purchased a copy of his game on Steam (at full price!), which is something i virtually never do, because i want to show my support, and to replay one of the RTS greats!
As a kid, I remember the Lotus faction REALLY getting my imagination getting into gear. I thought it was so cool how you had this corrupted faction worshipping something so wholesome as a tree, and how that really puts the whole imagery on its head, and how the different parts of the tree translated to different weapons and styles. I think I tried working that into a homebrew setting I worked at the time, but I never quite managed to make it work out, without simply copying, lol.
Omg I can't believe the dev himself who created Battle Realms was still here to this day! And the fact he also planning to make a Battle Realms as Mobile Game in the future, I cannot wait for him to release it officially, this will brings our childhood memories unlock! And also hoping for Lotus Lair story mode to be finish, that project hasn't done yet for many decades now. ♥️
This video was great! So much heart and love! Battle realms was such a huge part of my childhood! ... One caveat though... Clan Snake and ronins were the coolest faction! 🐍🐍🐍🐍
Ah memories. thanks for reminding me there once a time where everything is simple and nice. I love this game and often argue with my sibling for taking turn playing. I was the Lotus faction main
I’m not usually a fan of RTS games, but seeing the passion that went into this project is truly inspiring! The dedication and attention to detail in recreating Battle Realms in diorama form is incredible. Massive respect to the creator of the game and to you for bringing it to life in such a unique way. You’ve managed to capture the spirit of the game so beautifully that even someone like me, who isn’t familiar with RTS, can appreciate the love and effort that went into this. Amazing work!
I still play it up to this day, ever since I got to play this during my Elementary Grade 4 days. Thank you for still updating the game after all these years. I believe in this labor of love project.
i've never heard of battle realms before so thank you for introducing me to it, and thank you for your videos - i have no idea how a man can be simultaneously and consistently this good at modeling, painting, editing, voiceover, and also have incredible taste in games
Bought the game the day it introduces in Steam. I felt that amazing nostalgia within me right away. I am not sure what is his stance on it now but I am also a huge fan of War of the Ring. Both of them shaped my understanding of fantasy RTS games. So, thanks for having him because I appreciate him to see that he is passionate about his creation no matter when. That is something we dont have much nowadays. I can easily tell that he is so proud of it and he should be. And thanks MiniQuest for the great diorama and the tribute he made for such treasure.
This was so cool to watch! great editing and such a blast from the past. Great to hear from Ed as well during this build! was super wholesome feeling and interesting to hear his perspective on things.

Absolutely fantastic work! But also it's so cool to have Ed with you in the video as well. Ed, if you're reading and watching this, you've made a timeless game that's impacted so many of us. Battle Realms is how I bonded with my brother back in the day, and it led to our love for RTS. Thank you for your amazing game!
When this game came out, it absolutely blew my mind. It was the coolest RTS game I had ever seen. 23 years later I finally have a gaming setup again, so I bought Battle Realms. I'm so pumped to see that there's been some activity related to it RIGHT when I am ready to play it again. Just started Kenji's Journey today, and I remember all the reasons I loved it so much. Thank you for this!
Seriously, this game can easily be a movie Trilogy! -And if Ubisoft wants to redeem themselves they need to pick up BR story where it ended and create a newone from thereafter! God I just love the Battle Realms lore.
Insane production quality of both the diorama and this video + how cool that Ed Del Castillo is also a part of it! Battle Realms was always one of my favorite games, I liked it much more than Warcraft or AoE. I still remember buying it (had to take the bus to go to the next city) and then reading the beautifully crafted manual on my ride home. The attention to detail was (and still is) just insane. Great times. If Ed reads this: Was Populous 3: The Beginning also an influence? That is also a game I adored.
Truly another impressive build with incredible detail. It's always fun hearing and seeing the reaction of the creator who inspired other such creative works. Gotta agree with Castillo, you are such a master craftsman. Seriously inspiring.
Thank you for this awesome diorama! This is the perfect piece to show love to the game! Battle Realms is one of the best games I've ever played and I'm also happy to see and hear some stuff from Mr. Ed Castillo! This truly relived all the tough skirmishes I had as a wee middle schooler lad against Highschoolers back when Net Cafes existed! I hope you make a diorama of each faction next
Beautiful diorama of one of my all time favorite games. I played the hell out of Battle Realms back in the day and loved it so much that even my online name is based off two of the characters. I'm sad that it never really got the recognition that i felt it deserved and is wrongly remembered by many as just another warcraft 3 clone even though it came out before it.
This is far an away the coolest diorama I have ever seen. Though I may be biased, since I absolutely adore Battle Realms. It is just such a great game! It was great getting to hear from Ed Del Castillo as well. Until recently, I didn't realize the breadth of work that dude had done. He worked on essentially every single one of my top games! I found your channel while perusing the Battle Realms Zen Edition news on Steam. I saw the tease and I don't know how I missed the release of your video, but I just got around to watching it. My goodness, you are very good at this!
Man Ed is the best. never knew such a great guy is responsible for this great game, but it makes sense now. Battle Realms is a milestone in gaming and a pillar of what good games can be like. Remember this was created when the gaming landscape was way different. When games like these were known as "Killer Games" and made kids into mass murderes (according to the news) Big props and thanks. i love this game and the build really inspires me as a wargamer to push myself further thanks so much

"we have no more rice" was a line comparable to "wood needed"
If I had one wish, it would be that one day there will be enough funding for a proper remake. With four campaigns tailored to each clan, maybe even some new resources like wood and stone for the buildings, something like that. The feeling I got from this game was unlike any other, and it was what brought me from gameboy to PC back then.

Battle realms is just the nostalgia I've been missing my whole life.
Thank you for bringing back memories.
Thanks for watching my friend :)
BATTLE REALMS PLAYERS ARE THE TRUE OG, MORE OG THEN THE OTHERS PLAYING OLD GAMES

Great job! But we still don’t know how peasants become geisha after entering the bathhouse
According to the tutorial, when a Peasant enters the Bath House and takes over the work of the Geisha who was originally working there, the Geisha who is freed from her work will come out of the Bath House to support the unit.
When you point a peasant to the bathhouse
It say ‘’trade a peasant for a geisha’’
So it just trade one peasant for one geisha and nothing else
Man, I wish you would have posted this in the sneak peek for Ed to answer :D
Oh gosh, BATTLE REALMS is still alive until today
For, more than 20 years,
Still holds up today =)
When we were working on Warcraft III, it was playing Battle Realms which inspired us to have artist Dave Bergeren rework the ground textures to have a more 3D effect. We did not, however, re-evaluate the entirety of the game, and heroes were absolutely a part of Warcraft III LONG before we played Battle Realms. In fact, the game was far more oriented towards heroes before Battle Realms came out, but the transition to reduce the emphasis on heroes from the center point to move more towards RTS had nothing to do with Battle Realms. It was just the puffy paint texture. :)
Thanks for the input, Dave! Awesome to have you here! =)
You baked the milliput and green stuff? First time I've heard of that. What happens? Quicker cure?
Yeah it quickens the cure time to 10 to 15 minutes! So you sculpt the rough structure, cure it fast with the oven and return to sculpting =)
I knew that Ed del Castillo spoke german !!! I didnt imagin things !!!!
Fucking LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
