Now is a good time to check the vent window interface with the windshield and weather strip. I have seen Jeepsters with no rear bumper, flush bumper and one had a shortened splash pan. They can all look pretty good in my opinion. Removing the spare really cleans it up but loses a bit of character.
While you're at it, lose the off-the-shelf tail lights. I'll think of some more for you to do after I take a break. Where I worked we were fond of following Rule #1: Don't do anything right away.
Good point on door vent window fitment also check the defrost vent area inside the windshield frame. I look at the rear and think of the thinks I don't like and how to change it. I have looked at many photos of Jeepsters without the tire and I don't like them. I think the tire is part of the character and needs to stay but needs better fitment.
The tail lights do need to change. I see many photos of custom lights and I don't like any of them. I have a few ideas but they are lots of work. Yah, time for a break... hahaha.
Glad to see you back on the project.
Feels good to be working on it again. 😃
