Very vice weathering, I have started using a very similar process to the dot fade. I really like that technique. Thanks for also talking about wheels and trucks to often they get forgot about.
Hi Joseph, good stuff as always. I, too, model the MoPac (circa 1986). My layout is more or less freelanced from bits and pieces around the Houston, Texas area. By the way, nice to see an Arkansan here! I live in Alma. You're right, too, Fort Smith would be really fun to model; so many industries and things, etc. to model.
Thanks Kevin! Always good to meet another Missouri Pacific modeler and Arkansan. I guess you can call my layout a proto-freelance of the Fort Smith area. Originally, when picking a location, I got ahold of a 1979 M.P. industry car spotting guide issued to Van Buren/Fort Smith crews. Was blown away by the number of industries! Modeling Houston, I would guess you have plenty of choices of industries to model!
Hello Joseph, glad you are feeling better and back working on the Central Division! Can't wait to see your weathered models.

Thanks! Hoping to have a step-by-step how to out soon.
You do some nice weathering…thanks for sharing your process and all the tips
Glad you enjoyed it!
They look fantastic. Thanks for sharing. dave
Thanks!
All the freight cars look very realistic. My favorite is the 40' Missouri Pacific boxcar. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jerel!
I paint in acrylics and oils, so you've given me some great idezs. I will get some weathering powders and his it a try.
Artist oils are one of the primary mediums in my arsenal. Love the results it gives you!
