my art teacher he had a dog like that. A bunch of us went hunting with him after we got outta high school (hunting is big here) and we were all blown away by what Charlie could get done. Those dogs just love what they do!
Very impressive. It's so hard to get a dog to be that patient. My old lab would get so excited when the shots rung out he was already out of his little dog blind before the ducks hit the water. I still loved his crazy ass though. Miss him.
I always look forward to next episode. Great host and a great show. Only problem with the show is it makes me even less patient then I was before for season to begin
Watching this on August 3rd...October can't get here fast enough now! Outstanding work...and the two boat hauls and attention to detail, hard work, and belief that your work would pay off...that makes it all the more impressive! Inspirational!
It’s brutal when you’re trying to get out before sun up and it’s 20 degrees BUT it’s been cool enough to allow the lake to start icing over and then the sun doesn’t come up but it stays overcast and it starts to snow the thick heavy wet snow.
That last statement.. love it. Truly no better time when good buddies get banger days. It all aligns. Can’t wait for another fall, right around the corner.
where i shoot in new zealand geese are like royalty. once had a mob of about 20 come into our bay and we all thought they were landing and missed the shot call, they got spooked and we didnt fire a bullet still regret it to this day
Fellas, great video. The dog was awesome!! But as I have said before, the channel is called meateater. I am sure the extra time to shot cost time and money but I would love to see after each video a cooking portion just a regular dudes opinion. Love your your stuff and love the duck lore series.
Its like fishin. Most days of fishin are okay depending on if ya know what you’re doing. But every now and then you get that day where you land 20 coho salmon, or 25 15” crappie. Or a big limit on big chinook. Or catch that mess of smallmouth finishing on a 4/5 pounder. Or get into a big school of mahi or yellowfin. Its rare to draw blackjack, but if ya do the dance often enough you do
Amazing and another quality meat eater production. PLEASE WEAR HEARING PROTECTION, hunters new and old need to be shown that hearing protection is good and the big guys do it so It must be cool too.
I knew I recognized the way one of those calls sounded! That white call w/ black script looks like an Elite somethin! If you could post the bbq goose sando recipe somewhere, that would be great too!
What brand blind do you use? I'm still trying to decide if a panel blind or a full on box style blind is best for me. Any info/input is greatly appreciated.
How does one go about getting permission to hunt on private land? I grew up waterfowl hunting but we were always in a club. I really want to get back into it but don't want to join a club. I know of some public areas for ducks, but everything I've seen public for geese is an absolute joke.
Wonder if that rancher will let you back, dragging that Russian thistle all over their property. They’ll be getting rid of that for the next 3 years in their pasture
I know you say you eat them but I want to see how! I don’t like that most waterfowl hunters don’t care to eat what they kill! Proof is needed! Everyone I have talked to in my part of Idaho is wasteful and I don’t respect it!
Great hunt , but after duck hunting so long drake mallards do do much for me. Pins, teal, widgeon, woodies and all the divers cans, bluebills, redheads variety, could really care less about mallards anymore.
They killed all the birds in Wyoming, so please pick another place to hunt ducks and geese. I hear that Utah, Idaho, and Montana have better duck and goose hunting. ;)
In Wyoming we protect our wildlife as much as we maintain and care for the environmental quality (air, land, water). Hunting could be called sport, but this is not that. This is dinner through the winter months, or a special dish on Christmas. We respect the value of banded birds and what it provides for data collection and regulation on populations. Learning the distance that they travel from and the time of their banding is also really cool to hear about. It's the life story of some birds ready to be taken out of rotation. This helps for healthier and thriving populations. Bird and game hunters ARE NOT trophy hunters. While a nice set of antlers is always a bonus, no sane hunter would take a head mount over the extremely nutritious and healthy meat of an animal. Predator hunting lands under the umbrella of rodent control, prevention of predation of livestock, fur collection/trading, and trophies. These are all regulated based on season and land division in Wyoming and if you can even draw a tag on some animals to hunt. Wyoming does it right.
Dang, Rio is really good. That long haul he did on the far duck is impressive.

Can we just take a minute and appreciate Rios commitment to his craft...what a Dog!!!

That dog is living his best life man. Wish I lived on some land where I could do this and train a dog for it
I enjoyed watching the dogs as much as you guys, great job with him!
Absolutely in love with this series
Man this waterfowler might be the most humble guy out there
I grew up in that area and hardly ever hunted waterfowl, but have taken some giant whitetails on the river and creek bottoms. Great episode!
You guys are great! I could watch that dog all day!

Awesome Video!! 👍🏻👍🏻 That dog is so cool!!

Now thats a bird dog. You know he goes to sleep satisfied after every hunt
You think you had fun? That pup had more fun than your whole crew combined. Remarkable day. Thanks for sharing (and admitting you feel guilty).

True I wanted to see the goose sandwiches lol. Such a great trip though, I can understand dedicating the episode to the shooting.
Getting me HYPED for the '22-'23 season!!!

Man that was fun to watch! Calling, decoys, running the dog, shot calling, etc - there is a lot one can learn from watching this video!
Great hunt fellas. The days like that are why we keep going back.
Awesome video!
Love the Duck Lore vids, keep them comming
Can't wait til duck season starts here in Denmark...
Man just “one of those hunts” congrats boys!
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
That Rio is a good boy.
What an episode 👏 🙌 keep up the great work. Love it.
It’s the one hunt in fifty that turns out like this one that keeps you coming back. I would like to have seen the BBQ duck sandwiches though.
Another great episode of duck lore!! 👍
Keep ‘em coming! Love the series @meateater
hunting with Brad Marchand I see
Great show and really enjoyed the dog work.
That mallard hunt was legit 🤙🤙
Being the guy designated to make the call… it’s always a no win situation lol
One of the best meateater productions yet! Amazing work fellas! Lol I’ve never hunted ducks but by golly I’m going to!
How are a "couple hundred" decoys a small spread???🤣🤣🤣.
Man I love good dogs
Going hunting ducks for my first time this year. Can't wait
That's some sure nuff mallard footage there. Awesome.
Amazing and another quality meat eater production. PLEASE WEAR HEARING PROTECTION, hunters new and old need to be shown that hearing protection is good and the big guys do it so It must be cool too.
Impressive duck hunting, but Rio for me has really stolen the show. We all need a Rio in our lives.
Keep up the good work! Love this series
Ok?
I don't hunt waterfowl, but I love to watch a perfect dog work and have fun
Great Job Rio!!!!!
Awesome hunts...thanks for sharing
Love the content but wanna see some cooking of the birds.
I'm glad you are feeling better, sorry you got the Rona and missed out.
Good Hunting Today 🙌.
JO JO IN VT 😆💕
Wyoming is an awesome place!
Rio is really good but had he ever tried to fetch one of the decoys
Let's be honest we want more of rio
Thats my hometown!!!! I fished the lake shown (boysen) Sunday! So cool
Is that a phowler?
I think the dog should get more credit...
We used to use tumble weeds for blinds and it always worked out great!!! 👀🇺🇸💯💪
Can Josh Weaver provide Rio's breeder/kennel/line info?
Super excelentes cazerias amigos saludos
No such thing as too many decoys 😉
Rio is well trained
You think you guys had fun, Rio was in heaven.
Slaying them up
Fun👌😊
I knew I recognized the way one of those calls sounded! That white call w/ black script looks like an Elite somethin! If you could post the bbq goose sando recipe somewhere, that would be great too!
Getting excited in the uk our season starts 1st September, can not wait 😀
"dyed in the wool goose fanatics" mannnn well said.
Wow
Bring Steven out for a day
Hello what happened to Steve?
Wyoming my home state ain't nothing like it!!
what's the band and the name of the track on the closing credits?
What brand blind do you use? I'm still trying to decide if a panel blind or a full on box style blind is best for me. Any info/input is greatly appreciated.
Good show
Is there a daily duck limit there?
I know it’s 2 for pheasant
I believe it’s six there if I’m not mistaken
As a wyomimgite please stop telling everyone about our lovely state. We're trying to keep people out and the pandemic already brought in enough libs
Rio did all the hard work
Rio is the true star of the show
That bad call is equal to being on special teams during a punt and “downing” a football when it’s bouncing the direction you’d prefer….I’ve done that.
Thanks guys!
Goose season cannot come fast enough as a Colorado goose hunter November can't come soon enough.
Great video, I miss Steve.
Cool dog. Rio
Thanx

Cold fronts from a meteorologist standpoint are not "high pressure" weather events, but the opposite low pressure events.

Posting these too far away from duck season, now I really got the itch.
BBQ goose sandwiches?!

Awesome!

Glendo?
Check out Casey’s Adventures in Wyoming…..He has a great duck hunting business in Basin Wyoming…Please check it out..
They killed all the birds in Wyoming, so please pick another place to hunt ducks and geese. I hear that Utah, Idaho, and Montana have better duck and goose hunting. ;)
Stop. Naming. The. Places. You. Hunt.
Appears you are hunting in a closed area...
Read your map. You can't hunt on the reservation.
🇪🇨🇪🇨👍🤝

As a dude who hunts geese in Colorado, I am ithicy to get out and get after them starting in November.
All these hunting and no coocking? nah man.
Probably just isn’t apart of the series. I’m sure the meet doesn’t get wasted.
@@easttexasfishin2439 it doesn't.
