Seriously. One of my biggest regrets is not seeing them while he was still with us. My best friend while I was in college got us tickets to the show where they recorded the LBC dvd and I ended up not being able to go because my dad had arranged for us to visit the schools I was supposed to transfer too. Had gotten plane tickets and hotel reservations in hawaii. So I couldnt go. Then the Rev passed away. Fuck. Regrets regrets regrets.
@@andrewvasquez7872 I was supposed to see them the October before he passed in Alabama (my uncle bought us tickets) and i ended up starting my first job and was unable to attend. I was upset and then DEVASTATED when he passed. I saw them in 2017 with Metallica and I BAWLED at the concert because I felt like something was missing.
My heart aches for anyone who missed out seeing Jimmy play live or meeting him. Unbelievable experience-it made going to shows in later years So hard. He was absolutely unreal live.
The drummers name was Rev and unfortunately he has long since passed. RIP to one of the best drummers of our time. But in my opinion he is always in my top three.
I love that years after his passing, a man who knows nothing about the band, and less about the genre can stop in his tracks and recognize the talent. Good ear my man, and Great reaction!
Avenged Sevenfold song are definitely a rollercoaster ride. My son introduced me to them in 2010...just after Jimmy died. Loved them ever since. I have the deathbat on my motorcycle!!!
Jimmy "the Rev" Sullivan was an INCREDIBLE drummer and the world lost a beautiful soul and extraordinary musician with him. I cried for DAYS. Rock on foREVer Sullivan. ❤❤❤

The Rev also wrote several of their songs before he passed, and sang backup vocals while he drummed. We miss you, Jimmy! You were the best of us. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
The amazing drummer on this recording is Jimmy the Rev Sullivan. rest in peace Jimmy we all miss you so much period no one will ever compare to the masterful drumming of that guy! Everybody has their gifts but Jimmy just had something otherworldly! He was the perfect madman for sure! We all miss him, it's really cool to know that you think so highly of his drumming coming from a different musical background!
His beauty was too much for this world. "They say all beauty must die, I say it just moves on." "A moment seen through those eyes, crystal blue disguise." Something from Nightmare, can't pull up the title right now. He's in every note of that album. It was so hard to listen to for the longest time.

Hey boss you gotta check out the "Live in the LBC" performance. It's very high quality and shows off all of their individual skills quite well RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan
that drumming is The Rev, he was amazing but sadly he is no longer with us... check out Beast And The Harlot and Scream for more killer drumming from him, or The Stage and Sunny Disposition for killer drumming from their new drummer Brooks Wackerman
Yes Brooks wackerman is amazing! And their album the stage is phenomenal with drums. But you know what? I believe sinister Gates helps write those drum parts :-)
@@TheBlindGuardian20 I'm sure Syn and even Matt help write some drum parts, but we wouldn't have The Stage if it weren't for Brooks' insane talent, no one else could do that better

Had me listening to Beast and the Harlot on loop til I got into “Bat Country”, “Save Me”, Not Ready to Die”, and “Buried Alive”.. been a fan since! Been to 3 Live shows and they killed it everytime!

I think "Beast and the Harlot" would be a good song to listen too for the drums as well. This drummer was "The Rev" he inspired me to start drumming myself. Also, I found you from MGK reactions, and MGK has the singer of Avenged Sevenfold on a feature of "Save Me" off Lace Up, btw.

It’s my favorite song too but I am a huge A7X fan. Godsmack is my fav band though 🙂

Best song ever. The rev was amazing.
The Rev was known as the “One Take Wonder.” I believe this recording is one of those one takes.
He recorded their entire first album, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, in a single take start to finish. Has to be my favourite drummer of all time.
