Can i ask a question? I have a problem where the clutch wont disengage on my 2004 vtx 1300s...i have adjusted the cable in and out and still wont go into gear without jumping...replaced the clutch cable with a new one and still the same...do you think it would be the Fibre friction plates...dont think it has been relplaced...bike has only 50,000kms on it...cheers
@@hoopin4you I was thinking Bout that when I was typing....wondered if it was to do with oil.....was last done 4 years ago....but haven't ridden it much only 4,000 km
@@Darrylmc63 Yes, it is a wet clutch. I would drain and fill with a good quality, non-energy conserving oil (I use Amsoil synthetic) and see how it works afterward. That's not a lot of km but it is a long time between changes.
@@hoopin4you Hey hoopin4you...we had no luck with the oil change, clutch still wont disengage. I ordered some new friction plates as well, when we were taking the friction plates out they were almost all stuck to the steel plates. Would that be why the clutch is not disenaging?

Sounds like a possibility. Also, when was the last time you did an oil change, and did you use oil that is non-energy conserving?

was chain supposed to b that loose mine is as well
I installed the new chain, and it had the same amount of slack. Rides fine before and after, so I didn't worry about it.
thanks got the job done and loving the new barnett clutches lol
Yup...no more slipping for me.
Well that was about as informative as a fart in the wind.
Have you ever seen a chain that loose before on a VTX?
