I want to thank everyone for watching my newest video! This took a ton of time, research, editing, etc. to get done. UA-cam analytics updates much faster, at the time of typing, it’s well over 5.7k views. Welcome to any new subscribers, it means a lot. I appreciate the constructive feedback, it’s always important to hear back from people for corrections and things over looked. You learn something new every day. The one I had the most feedback was Chun Li’s sprite in CVS 1 wasn’t from Third Strike, but from Alpha. If I remember correctly, I went to the street fighter wiki to look up her sprites. If you highlight over them, it shows what games they’re included in. It was very helpful, however, her alpha sprite didn’t have CVS1 on it. Her CVS2 sprite was included. So I think at that time I assumed, since ryu, ken, and M bison had updated sprites, perhaps chun li did as well. This will definitely help in the future to double check these details. Especially with a future ‘Faces of’ video, he’s from a series with quite the confusing story lol. I am going to play around with my microphone for the next few projects of mine before investing in a new one. One of my friends showed me how I can improve that in Audacity. The next video will be the Frogger show from Saturday Supercade. But first, I’ll actually be guest starring on another channel. I offered to edit my section, so look forward to that when it’s out. It’s a basic response, but you have no idea how exciting it was to see the view count rise, watch time, responses, and subscribers I’ve received. Thank you 🙏 Stuart
There's actually a reason Ryu reverts to his MSHvsSF self in MvC2. In MvC1, Ryu has the "Complete Change" mechanic, which in exchange for a bar of super meter, allows him to use the movesets of Ken and Akuma. In MvC2, Ken and Akuma made a proper return, making Complete Change Ryu redundant.
7:10 It’s pretty well documented that Jin’s move set and general design in MvC is actually inspired by Kakugo, the main character from Apocalypse Zero, down to the white uniform, billowing scarf, and even his move set. Although Kakugo himself did seem to be influenced by Kamen Rider.
Namco x Capcom and the project x zone games are truly so amazing. Yeah it can get repetitive in parts but it’s was such a good sight to see all those characters interact. Some I didn’t know and got to learn and wish they would’ve ported it to switch
Red Arremer and Firebrand are two different characters. Firebrand is the protagonist of the Gargoyle's Quest series, which is an offshoot of the Ghosts'n Goblins series. Red Arremer is a generic enemy species that constantly harasses Arthur during his adventures whenever he meets one of them. In some stages, he can encounter several of them at once. This is also why Red Arremer and Firebrand have vastly different movesets. (Firebrand is an actual fighting game character while Red Arremer is a glorified Ghosts'n Goblins enemy, as he can't even crouch.) Just clarifying things there.
I appreciate the feedback. It did confuse me growing up, like I thought maybe that’s was it’s name in a different region and might have been a translation error. But I guess you can compare Fire brand and Red Arremer to stuff like Waddle Dee and Bandana Waddle dee? This will definitely help me in the future because I would like to return to these two and go over their appearances in games.
@@Hey.This.Is.Stuart I believe the Waddle Dee comparison is apt. Though if you wanna be more pedantic, you can compare Waddle Dee, the species, to Waddle Dee, the NPC that assists Kirby in Kirby 64, although that's neither here nor there. Great video, I must admit. So good that others have chimed in with their corrections. It's a testament to how interesting the topic is and how well structured your video is made. I'm subscribing for sure.
Nice project! The mishmash of sprites and graphic styles here has always fascinated me -- especially when they started cutting into the animations to fit in more characters.
Amazingly informative video. Thank you. I'm making my own fighting game sprites, so I'm researching a lot. Your video hit the spot! Just what i needed.
I have some smaller projects in the works before tackling the next Faces video. The response I’ve received from this video does encourage me to continue!
@@Hey.This.Is.Stuart can you do the many faces of sega crossovers talking about sega characters in others games, like sonic and bayonetta on smt dx liberation.
I can put that on the list of ideas. At least the next few are gonna be on singular characters like the Jack Frost video I did. But that’s actually really interesting, I can definitely look into that.
Really solid video man you earned a new sub! However just like some of the other comments there's only 2 errors I noticed 1. 31:38 I see what you were saying but I think you got the lore a bit mixed up, Jedah never fused with Morrigan/her soul, Morrigan's father Belial Aensland was worried Morrigan would be too powerful to control her S class power thus he split her soul into thirds, keeping one and the other into a sealed space, after he died I think Morrigan claimed his power? (i'm not entirely sure) but Lilith took the mind of her own and upon discovering Jedah's plan, he made Lilith lore Morrigan and the other Darkstalkers toward him (although I thought Jedah himself and his realm The Majigan + The Fetus collecting souls automatically attracted DS and bountry hunters like B.B hood so idk if the comics are cannon) long story short Lilith isn't a fusion but a 1/3 of her power that became her own with some interaction with Jedah (i think he made her?) 2. 35:53 uhhhh I think you got the wrong robot, astrobot is the ps5 alien game, that's astro BOY which is what inspired MegaMan, seemed like a minor spelling mistake. Aside from that really solid video and hope you discuss other FGC stuff and backgrounds, your editing of spongebob clips and "THEY ADDED ROCKET RACOON" had me chuckling with laughter, keep up the good work.
Oh snap did I say Astro Bot??? lol I didn’t notice it! Thank you for your feedback. I am certain I did get it mixed up with the Darkstakers lore. So thank you for this 😀
Awesome video~ I can safely say we all pounded quarters at the arcades, the laundromats and wherever we can play these Capcom vs titles during its initial inception. Such a fund experience. Favorite part of this video - seeing good ole Max Dood reacting to the release of Collection package. Heehee! Keep up the good work. My favorite is Capcom vs SNK 2. Brother and I had fun dissing each other at home playing this for PS console.
I honestly expected a video done just straight up on the megaman series & the different characters across the franchise (the blue and fist emoji as well as the picture of hyper realistic mega man leading up to this also led me to believe that) so this was a surprise but a pleasant one, either way great video

Elena being released in SFxTK is one of the reasons people hated her, she was ported from another game with very few modifications or toning down, nevermind the Healing mechanic which has no grounds on being on a classic Street Fighter game
awesome video. i listened/watched from my second screen and loved the content. one smaaaalll really minor thing is the pacing of your sentences? You could tell sometimes it was like..different voice clips put together but from a mere listening standpoint there wasnt enough pause to understand you were going to a new thought sometimes. call me picky.
You’re totally right, there were a few of them. I know I added Akuma and Evil Ryu being added to CVS1. I know there were two sentences spliced together, but I don’t remember where exactly. I can definitely try to add a bit more of a pause when moving on.
I don't think Cammy's sprite was made for X-men vs Street Fighter, as she is in Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold but I'm not 100% sure about that. Also, Dante's clothes & move-set is from DMC3 but his age, judging by his hair & him knowing Trish, is from either DMC1 or 4. And Gloria is from DMC4, not 2.
Damn. You didn't mention Street Fighter Online. The game thats not named but is just a crossover with the Louis Cha Novels, Cyborg 009, Rival Schools, Space Sheriff Gavan, Detroit Metal City, and *flips notes* BARACK OBAMA??? Also fun fact: All the MvC games except 2 & 3 have an uneven roster in company reps not just in Infinite. XvSF has more Street Fighters cause of Akuma, MSH vs SF also has more Street Fighters, & MvC has more Capcom characters.
28:38 It's a thing on the Dreamcast, except everything is free. Sonic Adventure 2 is known for its on-disc DLC, like the character-based menu themes. Too bad barely any Dreamcast games implemented DLC. DLC would replace unlockables since the PS4 era onwards, which I dislike.
@ Well, Chun-Li has the Tenshokyaku, Senretsukyaku and Hazan Tenshokyaku, which are moves that didn't return to CVS2. So it's safe to assume Chun-Li got a makeover in CVS2 while keeping her Alpha-series sprites and moves the game before.
1. CVS1 Chun Li still uses the Alpha sprite, not until CVS2 does they made a brand new one based off 3S 2.the "two artsyle" of CVS had been like that since CVS1, not CVS2 3.the reason why Rad Spencer is in MVCI despite being a rather unpopular character is because he is Peter Rosas's favorite character, i mean "function", he is a former pro player turned Capcom dev who produced MVCI, who then left Capcom to work for Marvel after MVCI tanked for reference, you can search " MVC3 Bionic Arm", to see said Capcom Producer in his most memorable moment when he was still active

Appreciate the feedback. There isn’t a fan in the background. I definitely beed to get a better microphone. Some of my voice over has me pitching up the audio. So that may be what causes the fan like noise.
Cvs1 and cvs2 are great games but the capcom side of the roster fucking sucks. Yes i know the justification is "cvs was focused on fighting games" but it only had Morrigan from darkstalkers, no red earth, cyberbots, star gladiator/plasma sword, power stone. It was 95% Street fighter which is lame. If it was called street fighter X kof it would be fine to be like that but come on! Also I put emphasis on Darkstalkers n red earth chars and hayato from plasma sword and jin from cyberbots as they all had sprites already and wouldn't need new ones as I am aware that they were limited in sprite making but could have done a much better job on the roster. Also all the capcom grooves being only street fighter-based was fucking lame. No darkstalkers groove? Not even rival schools groove? Also how the fuck you have samurai showdown chars in the snk side but not have bishamon????? Street fighter favoritism made them braindead
