Hey Migamations, I just not too long ago discovered your video and watched it all. But I would like to thank you for shedding some light and attention to the original lore from the first two game, especially the first game. If you didn't know, I have been so fascinated with the lore of Crackdown and Crackdown 2. I'm still to this day investigating and delving into more hidden lore of the first game, and I would like to personally thank you for mentioning my contributions to the franchise and the community when it comes to knowledge of the series. Crackdown could’ve and should’ve become Xbox's answer too infamous. The same way Alan Wake could’ve become Xbox's answer to Uncharted.?But Sony doesn’t even care about Infamous and the majority of PlayStation IPs. Even Xbox barely cares about Halo and Gears of War anymore.
I agree about it being an answer to Infamous. Then there was also Sunset Overdrive. Microsoft dropped the ball with Alan Wake. They wouldn't greenlight a sequel so Remedy took the publishing rights, and went to Epic. I get the comparison, but AW & Uncharted weren't similar enough for that. Plus, Microsoft had pulled that timed-exclusive crap with Rise of the Tomb Raider because Phil Spencer is a big Uncharted fan, and wanted a game like that for them.
God I hate the trope of the magic mineral/goo/whatever that's simultaneously a miracle cure, power source and superweapon depending _entirely_ what the writers need it to do any given minute.
Fun fact according to gameinformer originally crackdown 2s story was going to be a bit different. The protagonist was initally named Peter and they were the reason the plague exists through some accident

I always thought this game’s connection to Saints Row was interesting. Crackdown’s premise of taking down multiple gangs was highly reminiscent of Saints Row but with superpowers then Saints row completely ripped of Crackdown’s gameplay in Saints Row 4.
When I first played Crackdown, I tried take on Shai-Gen first, but didn't stand a chance since I didn't know about the difficulty difference with each gang. So then I killed two Los Muertos generals then took out The Volk gang, went back and killed the rest of the Los Muertos with ease then the Shai-Gen. You're not alone, Crackdown 2's my favorite of the trilogy as well. I wish Crackdown 3 would've continued in that direction, and improved on it.
Dope video. Love how you agree that crackdown 2 was hands down the most fun to play in the franchise. Besides the repetitive objectives, gameplay and pretty much everything else improved imo. Also loved how you shouted out the crackdown 1 menu music. It just captures the vibe perfectly and I felt like I was the only one who felt that way. Keep it up dude Excited to see what’s next !
First Crackdown I played was 2 and it was a really good time, watching how Crackdown 3 turned out is like "maybe we didn't need a trilogy" there were so many ideas as you said but lack of polish even the Agency car is a clunky Arkham Batmobile, I also don't get the point of retconning Goodwins character at all if you have one corporate overlord just say "screw it I'd have two of them"
I feel like direction and story of 3 just ruins any fun a returning player will ever have. A series that fades into obscurity only to be remembered in silly little youtube videos

Man I wish these games would've had a PC port. Even if you'd have to patch out games for windows live it still would be really cool to get this without needing to go buy an Xbox again
I have such good memories of both Crackdown 1 and 2, the first game for just the first feeling of 'next gen' back at the age of 8 (that and viva pinata) and 2nd for just having a blast in coop with my friends back then, ah good times, they weren't perfect but they were just so fun!
i keep wondering who was Crackdown 3 was made for. You haven't been able to sell games off gimmicks since the 2000s and if you're ignoring the source material as well, you're losing the fans of the name brand too.
@@Migamations it's definitely one of those types of people who just see the IP as a cash grab and not trying to evolve it into something better or more, That's why I'm hoping if they ever do decide to make another one. They'll continue with the narrative of the agency being a power hungry Shadow organization at that point
Great video! For me the first Crackdown is my favourite because I just have fond memories of playing it for the first time and killing one of the bosses by throwing a truck at them. Crackdown 2 I was always sort of middle of the road on. I enjoyed the gameplay but I always felt like it didn't quite properly fit as a sequel mainly because most of the backstory of the freaks and stuff, is in audio logs which lost people won't go out of their way to find and also because of them removing certain things like evolving cars and us only having 4 faces to choose from. Crackdown 3 is a strange case. On the one hand it is a good game and a fun time with a pretty acceptable story but it isn't a true sequel. To me it feels like they started to do a sequel/reboot with the original writer and then once he left they tried to continue doing a reboot without using any of the old gangs (the names of which probably belong to the old writer/developer). I hope we get another crackdown game because they are stupidly fun timewastes. I don't care if it doesn't make sense, just let me jump stupidly high, throw cars at people and blow up buildings. Job done
Personally I love deep diving into lore and story. The new powers of CD2 gave more option to mess around in the sandbox. Also just love post-apocalyptic settings so the game hits a lot of checkboxes for me, but definitely well said on your part. Couldn't agree more
@Migamations I'm replaying CD2 right now because your video made me want to. Honestly the only thing missing from it is more customisation of the cars like you could in the first game. Also the thrusters? AMAZING

Looks like this Crackdown 3 might have taken what might have been the story of 3 that could have continued from the second game. At least the basic idea anyway. Before I got to the part of the video where you talked about 3, I was thinking that you played the clone of Agent 8 to help take down Agency, the public good guy with the help of the public bad guy who is actually the good guy, Cell. Not gonna lie, I was bummed that 3 didn't continue from 1and 2. Though I never played any of the games.
I got Crackdown super late. When Gamepass or watevr first started on the 360. I saw it on G4 and it looked auper cool but didn't really do for me what i hoped it would.
I honestly feel like New Providence as a city is fine, my biggest issues with Crackdown 3 are a) the tone of the game. There was always a silly side to the games but it's weird that they made it a central focus for Three. b) Why can't we make our own agents? I like that this is the first entry that I as a woman can play as a woman but my god let me just make a character. also it's weird to me that all the agents have their last names on their chest??? i think that's a bit unsafe??? c) i very much prefer the agency vehicles of 1 and 2. I just don't feel that the transformation is really worth it but I also miss the truck of 1. d) why boss fights though? like the combat in this game is kind of fun, but I dislike how every boss is very linear to deal with. The best part of 1 is the freedom that you have to deal with them. and their bases. Literally all they have to do to make a Good crackdown game is to basically do 1 in a new city and expand on it a little. I liked the abilities that 2 and 3 added so keeping those could be cool (i like the dashing and jump jets of 3 and the gliding of 2) I think 3 could have been a good game, and it was completely ruined by the fact that the people who made it didn't understand what people liked about the original.
Never played the series, never watched anything on the series and yet I was just thinking about it. Then this pops up in my feed. The Orange Oracle has led me here.
The fact "Crackdown 2" is your favorite already discredits this entire video... that and the casual racism towards any nationality that is not your own. :I
I'm pretty sure he said in the video he's Mexican as well, and no one other than Mexicans can even come up with those jokes. I'm tired of people trying to white knight for us, we aren't defenseless bruh, and we poke fun at our own people constantly. I doubt you even believe that I'm Mexican too cause my name profile name isn't Senor Miguel Rodriguez, typing in English and not Spanish, and I don't have a Mexican flag in my profile picture, get bent
I'll be honest, I've only played Crackdown 3, played it on Gamepass, really enjoyed driving around the physics defying car to drive up walls and jumping around collecting the orbs, I seem to be the only one who thoroughly enjoyed it as this game to just pick up and play and then finish and forget about 😂
1:44:01 the camera angle and graphics literally have nothing to do with the engine, and you thinking that only further proves regular people know nothing about game development.

I think 3 could have been a good game, and it was completely ruined by the fact that the people who made it didn't understand what people liked about the original.
Never played the series, never watched anything on the series and yet I was just thinking about it. Then this pops up in my feed. The Orange Oracle has led me here.

The fact "Crackdown 2" is your favorite already discredits this entire video... that and the casual racism towards any nationality that is not your own. :I
you shouldnt try to shut down Mexican voices just because you disagree with us. You Racist
@@Doodoo-s7u doodoo you didn't have to shit all over him like that
All the Crackdown games look cartoonish

I'll be honest, I've only played Crackdown 3, played it on Gamepass, really enjoyed driving around the physics defying car to drive up walls and jumping around collecting the orbs, I seem to be the only one who thoroughly enjoyed it as this game to just pick up and play and then finish and forget about 😂
It is kind of a good game to turn your brain off and listen to a podcast or something, which is fine.
1:44:01 the camera angle and graphics literally have nothing to do with the engine, and you thinking that only further proves regular people know nothing about game development.
Lighting and shaders mate, learn about it
