Jas S thats what got me man. Since I first saw it when I was 7. Hit me like a truck. Still on that path today. Aviation turned into a passion of mine because of that 😂
Vincent Loosa lmfao same now I’m in flight school for my ppl and attending college so I can fly jets for either the navy or Air Force! I love the hell out of aviation
Borpheus Maximus -- all right take the amount of women that you hook up with in your whole life bro, now multiply that by 200, that's probably how many chicks these metro guys bone in a couple of years
Although I never got a ride in one, but we had an incentive program for airman to get a ride in when I was in the Air Force. Not sure if all squadrons had these incentives though.
I've flown in an F-16, up to Mach 1.8. The speed feels like nothing, but whatever it is you expect for the maneuvering...it's a LOT more than that, and I didn't even get up to 9G, so props to this guy. You CAN get used to it when you know what to expect, but the first time...HOLY SHIT!
The only serious question the interviewer asked the pilot was political. "Do you ever worry, when you talk to kids, that they get the wrong idea about what the job is?" Suggesting that it's military indoctrination for the pilot to talk to kids about how awesome it is to be a pilot.
The thing that gets me with fighter pilots is the face that even a tiny hit from something can cause u to crash. I cant even imagine the ones during WW2, those fights must've been nuts.
After serving in the Air Force, of course I am partial to the Thunderbirds. But I will tip my hat to the Blue Angles, for performing their maneuvers without a G Suit. Seems the movement of the bladders interferes with the yoke. Them boys gots balls.
Aye I’m currently in tech school for the air force my AFSC is 1P031 which is Aircrew Flight Equipment. I’ll be doing what those guys were doing when sizing him for the helmet and mask. It’s crazy seeing something I’m learning at school being in a video I was interested in watching!
Jesus ive idolized these guys since I was in the womb.. Seen them at more airshows than I can count. Even done actual research on them. This guy gets a job at vice and a ride with them...
The worst is barfing and still being sick and knowing that the rolls are not over and you are stuck for x more minutes when you just want to lie on a floor in the fetal position. Hats off to the pilots and the experts who train them.
I met the pilots at the 'Andrews Air Force Base' air show 2017, and got all thier autographs. They're nice people and answered some questions for fans.
Went to see the USAF Thunderbirds preform at the Dayton Air Show a few years back, a relative of mine a the time was was flying Slot #4, and got us tickets. Honestly, as a person who has never had any major fondness for planes, nor ever flown in one, I can tell you it was easily the best damn thing I have ever seen.
Loved the video, the pilot was super cool! Its unbelievable and I would give anything to have an experience like this. Especially with pilots like him, not any pilot whos doing it to earn money.
"Contemplating why I agreed to do this" are you serious, you're given an opportunity that 99.9% of people will never have the chance to do. I'm not saying you shouldn't have a little fear, but be a man and swallow it. Be grateful for the opportunity you were just given. Especially being able to fly with the best men our country has to offer.
Awesome stuff Vice. Most of us wanted to be fighter pilots after watching Top Gun. Also, nice to incorporate the pilot's journey and then the pilot dropping some truth bombs at 5:10 mark!
I went on vacation to Mackinac island, Michigan; and on our way back home we stopped to eat food in Traverse City. We were walking to a food truck when we heard an EXTREMELY loud Jet plane. We all shit our pants and went to go see what it was, and there were 5-8 USAF Thunderbirds flying over the bay. We went to the beach area to check them out. We found out that they were practicing for an airshow. They were absolutely incredible.
The breathing trick works well. WE pulled 2 Gs in a 172. the first time, it was uncomfortable but still really fun but the second, I used the breathing trick for a bit and it was a lot of fun.
kiDkiDkiD12 I don’t see what negates their statement. This is a very rare opportunity that most likely costed a pretty penny and some good connections, this isn’t like getting into some guy’s personal jet and flying around the neighborhood. There’s a comment around here that’s along the lines of “does he know how many people would give their left nut to do something like this” it really rings true. It’s one thing to complain about the feeling of the G-force as it happens and after the show is over, it’s another to complain about going on the once in a lifetime trip that you set up *BEFORE* the main event even starts...
The pilot even had some good words of philosophy at the end.
Lindsay Kay it’s always wise to put your gear down 👍
@@songbird6248 HAHAHA u sir deserve a cookie

We all did. The difference is he went out and did it.
You know the guy is metro as hell when he calls a jumpsuit a freakin onesie lol
Or when a random guy calls a flight suit a jump suit.
SavageInstitute ha! I was wondering if someone would bring that up
Hahahaha.
AF pilots and Navy pilots call their flight suits pajamas or onesies for fun
Borpheus Maximus -- all right take the amount of women that you hook up with in your whole life bro, now multiply that by 200, that's probably how many chicks these metro guys bone in a couple of years
Flying in one of those jets looks fucking incredible.
Matt kid it is.
How is the pilot able to talk normally during the 9G turn?
I would assume it's probably cause he's well trained and has done it many time
Easy, they are badasses.
G tolerance
They can't. 9 g's is a lot that pushes even seasoned pilots.
Jammy Sizlo You're right. Had they pulled 9 G's that chubble little fellow would have been out cold.
I've been critical of Vice but one thing is certain; no matter the story, their reporters always show cojones.
That is for sure lol. i find it amazing the level of access that they have talking to isis like its nothing lol
Wouldnt be surprised if they have an interviw with kim jong un while they go hot tubbing or something
What's crazy he can get a ride but I spent 20 years in the Air Force, and retired.
I worked on F-16's for 4 years. Never got a ride either
richie rich its advertisement for the army, that's why he gets a ride
Although I never got a ride in one, but we had an incentive program for airman to get a ride in when I was in the Air Force. Not sure if all squadrons had these incentives though.
Yup I got put in for an incentive flight while I was 'deployed' to Japan. Got sent back stateside before I could take it. Boo
Yeah, the folks who should never do. When I was in the AF it was always admin people getting the rides. Not us flight line workers.

Damn I am so jealous
The Thunderbirds are awesome!
You bet the pilots have some hidden bets on "How many times you can make the media person throw up" bonus cash if you can make em pass out.
Nice video. No political bias and the reporter wasn't a hipster dufus williamsburg transplant.
monkeyflipper "onsie"
I love how the pilot is just relaxed and talking and over the mic you just hear heavy breathing
Do more shit like this
MikhailZavarov They should, this was an awesome segment

Navy dive bomber pilots took 9 gs during climbing after dropping their bomb
No they took 11 Gs bruh
These pilots are so incredibly talented and dedicated!
Gary Hudoff III the fact that they can handle such speed and force is incredible
The maximum the plane can handle.
The plane: it’s really not
Phenomenal. I would love to try this.
The coooolest part in this video is when the pilot says lets do the sightseeing. AWESOME!!

That is freaking awesome!! You are one lucky dude to get to experience that and you did awesome. I would have thrown up way more than that.
Haha. Glad you got the opportunity. Looks super fun. I’ve never been anywhere near 9 g’s myself. Reminded me of pilot training though. Happy flying!
Why is it that fighter pilots are the most chill people on Earth
Top gun DEFINETLEY sparked my love for this stuff, and I can say the same for lots of ppl too

New found respect for Fighter pilots. Awesome.
i actually liked the background music thats being played.
