Well done. Jeff and Bob can wreak havoc now.
Hahahahaha! Indeed! :)
They are not boxes of shame, they are piles of possibilities! Hehe. Great work friend.
Thanks man! Also, I totally had missed to sub to your channel! Sorted now - sorry! :)
@@DevsDice no worries at all. It's never expected sir, but very much appreciated.
Of course man! Remember, I am a socialist Swede. I believe in a strong collective! ;)
Looking good! looks like your all prepared for those upcoming warhammer giant models to paint!
Haha! That's the plan... sort of! :)
THAT IS A VERY GOOD HAT
Hahaha! Thanks Chris! 👍😂😜
Some really nice work here. Inspired me to paint my own Ettin. I pretty much used the same techniques, except I airbrushed the skin tones. Possibly the nicest figure I've done so far. Thanks for all the helpful vids!
Thank you so much! Yeah honestly if I was a bit more confident with my airbrushing I would have used it for some blending on this one as well! No worries Jason! Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)
This is AWESOME! I painted my ettin around 2 weeks ago. Your paint skills are unbelieable
Haha! Thank you very much! Like all of us I am still in practice :) Important thing is to enjoy it! :)
You're really inspiring me to try new painting stuff. I've always been okay at best, mostly just slapping a wash over some decent paintwork, maybe a little highlighting. I assume I'm getting more discerning as models I painted years ago that I thought were good now seem very subpar.
I'm definitely going to be grabbing more Wizkids stuff. I think I burned out a while back because I kept trying to paint armies, and I'm not very good at that. I have High Elven, undead (in several flavours) dwarven, goblin, orc, space marine, and Roman. Not a single one is painted or completed to any decent degree. The larger Wizkids minis have really caught my eye though, and I enjoy painting them more. After watching your videos on the chromatic dragons I ordered several of them, and threw some metallic dragons in there too.
I will have ALL the minis!
Or a huge pile of shame. Either way I'm going to keep bingeing your videos, so keep up the good work!
First off: thank you so much Antonius for the nice comment! It makes me happy to hear that my work inspires in some way. It's like air for me! 🤣
Regarding piles of shame, yeah I think I went from pile to boxes to well, not it's almost a small storage room. But hey, we're supposed to do something when we retire right? 😉 I can agree that the larger Wizkids models generally is of good quality, I just wish that they could get the small ones better! :D
I hope that your painting goes well and remember that it is about having fun! 👍
I should do a Box of Shame series with all my Reaper minis.. Would have videoes for more weeks than I care to admit :D Great idea to glaze over the skin to bring back the red-ness from the first layer :D
Oh yes you should! It's a great way to get inspired to fight "the grey war" but also it can help and guide fellow painters out there. A win-win-situation! :) Thanks Nina, yeah I am somewhat happy with how the skin came out! Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
At 15:01 the middle image looks so cute in a way
Hahahahaha! Well they do make a cute couple! :D
Fantastic Ettin, have not painted a wizkids model before might have to pick Jeff and Bob up. Watched the whole thing and was entertained through it all you never seem to disappoint.
Thanks Nate! Yeah this one was actually quite nice! :D
Your painting is improving more and more with each video, keep it up 😄 As always a great video
ikr! I have also noticed the improvement to his painting, kinda wondering if this is indeed Leif we know! or an impostor!!!
Thank you so much! Yeah I am trying :)
@@NatesMiniatures Hahaha! Not you too! There is a whole joke at work about me being cloned and that number 4 is the best so far! 😂
Thanks though good people! Means a lot! ❤
Well done. I just bought this ettin this weekend, so it was helpful to watch what you chose to do. Thanks for posting.
Thank you very much for taking the time to tell me! :) I really liked this model and painting this one! Have fun! :)
Great video!
Thanks man! :)
Great job on this guy (or guys?)...love seeing how your detailing and highlighting is improving as I go through all these in chronological order - once I get caught up and my basement renos are done and my paint station is done, I'd love to do a challenge with you on the same model - I'm sure we have something duplicated LOL - I don't have the camera setup, but could be fun just having a submission to compare to down the road :-)
Thanks Kevin and that sounds like fun! 👍😊
Great video! Your painting has definitely leveled up. Ill be trying out this war paint theory the next time I’m challenged! Huzzaa! Keep painting them minis my good man!
Cheers Jamie! Yeah I love having inks in one's arsenal. So good for tinting or whenever you need a punch of color! Thanks man, right back at you! :D
PMSL "Jeff the ginger" lol
Haha! Yeah improvisation at it's best right? 😂
@@DevsDice Yep. Your awesome and love your Nordic proverbs lol
Haha! Thank you very much! That makes me very happy! :D
@@DevsDice Thanks for being so engaging with your fans too. Its refreshing to see. Im the guy that messaged about doing Father Dagon from Reaper Bones on your other video.
Well, of course man! :) It's my pleasure, and yeah I will do Father Dagon eventually! You mean the Reaper model right? :D
Nice work on the skin shades, have to try that method myself soon.
Thanks William! Yeah the only thing I have left that I want to try is to use some airbrushing to smooth out the transitions. We'll see when I have the guts to try! ;)
Great video Leif! Bob's weapon according to the stats is an axe. Though I always thought it was supposed to be a bone axe made from some big ass creature's thigh or hip bone despite that it still looks great as a scrap metal axe of some kind :3
Oh yeah that makes sense! :D I wish that that part would have had a bit more "bone-like" definition cause now when you say it - of course its a hip bone! Haha! Live and learn! :D
@@DevsDice Indeed. It still looks great regardless! It could be the scrap metal from a broken breastplate of a slain warrior too!
There we go! That's great! Keeping that as the official story! :D
@@DevsDice Glad I could help!
Great work. Thanks for the inspiration to give UA-cam a try myself :)
Seriously!? Wow! That's like amazing! :D
@@DevsDice thanks! Check out my latest episode from Saturday where I painted the balor. I'm going to have to try the pit devil like the one you did!

Great paint job. How tall is this figure?
Thank you James! The figure stands from base to top of the club to ca 9 cm (3,5 inches) and from the base to top of head about 7,2 cm (2,75 inches).
Something makes me want to lowball you on a copy of Radio Active Man #1... can't quite put my finger on it...
Not entirely sure I understand what you are saying :D
Can you do blights? You choose of course. Just a request
I will take it under consideration, I am fairly certain that I did see some in the "Boxes of Shame" :)
Update! I have found them! Officially putting them on the backlog! :)
Сјајно офарбана фигура. Сјајно
Hi! Sorry I don't read Serbian but with google translate I got this: "The shape of the figure is different. Really"
So..yeah! I agree :D
@@DevsDice
Hahaha,
I wrote :
Figure was painted marvelously, indeed!
Google Translate messed it up :)
I like your work, and I'm trying to learn something. Cheers!
When are you going to paint a wizkids dragon?!!
It will come, eventually! I have all of them. A bit scared of them to be honest :D But I will, I think that it will be a series essentially where I paint every dragon back to back :)
@@DevsDice scared, the mighty Fin,I don't believe it. You have the best twist on painting miniatures than anyone else on the internet. I think it will be exciting to see what you make of them!👍
Jesus, what have I done to deserve as supporting subs as you man. Thanks!
@@DevsDice you are a damn good painter, weather you think so or not. People enjoy your style i being one of them. Don't even stop 🤘
Thank you so much! I will try to remember that! :)
Great job! I would like to know if you print the wizkids miniatures? Regards! Thanks a lot!
Why thank you! If I print them? Like with a 3d printer? Nope. I don't have a 3d printer and even if I could I would find it unethical to do a recast/print. As long as I can I will try to support the various creators that make this hobby so wonderful! :)
@@DevsDice Sorry! I have made a mistake! I wanted to know if you prime the miniature before painting it!
Ah now I understand! Yes in this case I did a black primer first and then a so-called zenithal priming with white. This can also be called "dusting". This I do just to see the shapes more easily!
@@DevsDice Perfect! Thank you very much!
No problem! Happy to help! :)
Do anyone know about a discord or app where you can share your paintjobs
Not sure, I know there are facebook groups and such, might look into that?
Devs & Dice Cool do you know the name?
It looks like a bone weapon in his left hand.
True! Haha! Thanks for commenting! :)
WTF A HAT! You’re hiding your glorious hair under a HAT! Dislike.
Oh Dave :) Yeah even I can wear hats every once and a while ;)
