Heck yeah. I wish it was still the 80s. Simple times and comfort too. Beautiful shave bud. Love the vintage theme. Love the lemon lime foam too. Stay blessed my bud
Hope you and the family are doing well! They're shutting lots of services down here on base, so I grabbed a few bottles of Glenfiddich just in case things go south and if you have a live show I'll be hanging out here at home in my man cave with a scotch as well!
I’m happy that you feel better during your videos because they really relax me too! Love your sense of humor and caring for your fellow man. Thanks very much!
I really like these “Theme” shaves. Even though it may typically be products we’ve seen you use before, the theme and thought you put into which products you choose make it fun. I don’t know why but it feels almost similar to the thrill of opening up “loot crates”... “what are we gonna get this opening 👀😃???” *POOF* “3-Decades shave”..... what are we gonna get next week?... *POOF* “Retired on the Beach - margaritas in arctic, Florida water, grandpa grungy”
I remember using Foamy Lemon/LIme. I was in high school and never seemed to get a decent shave from it, or any canned shave cream. I think the worst was Edge, although I liked their commercials. A guy would flick a credit card over the side of his face shaved with Edge and the other side shaved with some competitors brand. The side shaved Edge sounded smooth and quiet, indicating a smooth, close shave. The side shaved with the other brand sounded noisy and rough, indicating a not smooth, close shave. Would love to try the Yardley aftershave. Then have a martini and listen to "Fly Me to the Moon" to celebrate all things Frank.
Interesting video, that old blade seemed to do the trick! Nice to see you upbeat and happy considering everything, that really helps us avid viewers. Keep safe, all the best.
I haven't shaved for 5 days and was thinking of growing a quarantine beard. But after watching you I decided to finally shave, I'm not some savage, you know :-) Thanks for the video, keep 'em coming.
I can relate to your yard story. A few weeks ago it was snowing up here in the north. Then, suddenly, it warmed up and the skies cleared...it got to over 60 degrees which is the warmest of the year. I went out to get the mail and the birds were chirping, bees pollinating, sun was just a bit higher in the sky making the shadows shorter. Fresh air and sunshine is a little more appreciated right now.
Good shave, good man! Just got my first safety razor (Wilkinson) in the mail today and wish my whiskers would come back in to try it out! Lol. Glad you're hanging in there buddy!
You should review Gillette Barbershop Fresh Foam Mousse followed by Skin Bracer Aftershave. I think they’re the perfect combo for the summer months and I know you like canned foam so I want to hear how their performance and scent compare to your usual Barbasol and Osage Rub.
That's a neat idea doing a three decades shave! I would love to find an old 1970s can of Gillette Foamy! The new stuff in the red can is really good! It smells like Old Spice. I haven't had the guts to try my grandpa's bottle of Old Spice from the 70s but I may in the future. Excellent shave and have a great weekend!
Great video Sinatra I was a little worried about those old Gillette blue blades glad you didn't cut yourself up. I hope you and your family stay safe during this pandemic.
Good thing I'm not playing my usual SinatraLennon drinking game today... Every time Sinatra mentions the years of when his shaving items were made - take a drink!
Completely unrelated comment to the products you used today: I used basically what you do sometimes, for the longest time. DE saftely razor, Merkur 42c is my favorite because its lighter weight although i do have a 34c also, canned shaving cream, etc. I switched to Dollar Shave Club for a while. thinking, maybe this will be ok. But came back to my DE razor, but kept using DSC's Shave butter. I've tried looking for it, but not sure if you've ever done a video on it. Ever tried Shave butter with a DE razor? Van Der Hagan (spelling?) makes some shave butter too. Never tried it though.
Three decades shave, that's a pretty cool idea indeed. Guess the blades aren't sharp enough to shave a 3 days growth, huh? Nice video as always. Cheers
When I was a kid my dad used the Gillette blue blades--one blade per shave. Later he used Wilkinson or other Platinum + blades good for several shaves if memory serves me. Funny how that shaving cream lasted. Several years ago I bought a few cans of Edge gel on sale and the bladder ruptured after a year and the cans sprayed propellant. I stopped using the n-blade razors and gone old school double edge razors. I'm still on the fence with the shaving cream cans like Barbasol which you seem to use a lot or the old school brush and soaps.
Wow, I tried once these blue blades....unable to shave.... 2 passes. I tried some other vintage, newer blades (gray package) that everyone raves about....horrible, too. Now I only use new gillette or similar blades....
Thanks for the love and the madness. Right now we all need it! With your love for that era, you should look up Floris Spencer Hart, Palm Springs. Should tick all the boxes for your trip back to the Rat Pack era.
Hi, SinatraLennon. I want to try out shaving with a safety razor, but I have some questions I'd like to ask. Firstly, everyone I know who grew up during the era of safety razors has told me that the nicks and cuts you get from them are fairly painful, and that's why they started using cartridge and electric razors. What's your take on how painful/not painful it is to nick or cut yourself with a safety razor? Also, I know that safety razors are cheaper in the long run, but I don't want to spend a whole lot on my first one, in case I end up not liking the experience. Can I trust the ones they have in stores that are priced between $15-$40-ish? Thanks! P.S. I don't know if this matters much, but I have pretty sensitive skin.
Little nicks usually don’t feel like anything. A cut might, depending on its severity, but you usually won’t get cuts from safety razors. That’s why they’re called ‘safety’ razors! Cheaper razors won’t shave as well as the better ones, but it will give you a good idea of whether you like the experience or not. Good luck!
I would like to report that I am moving on from my van der hagen to the 34C. Just placed my order and I also ordered the Osage Rub. Thanks for your suggestions.
Starting tommrow at 5pm the whole state of NC is in lockdown cause of this virus. How is it in Texas? We have over 1000 cases and I'm tired of hearing about it too.
That it; if KenSurfs is the Mr Rogers of the shaving world, then in my eyes, you are the dad from Family Ties; wholesome, fun, stern at times...the stereotypical definition of a "great dad".
When I got my Gillette Slim Twist, I threw out the pack of blades it came with. I might have given them a try if they had been in a sealed plastic box, but not the way they came. It is getting a bit uncomfortable here since some people have progressed from fighting over TP in supermarkets to looting. The Hessian secretary of the treasury committed suicide, and if that wasn't enough, I learned today that William Shatner is about to release another album.
@@SinatraLennon You liked the album, and that's what counts. I only know The Transformed Man, and that's something I think should be stricken from mankind's history. But, as always, that's just my opinion. Shats, by the way, quarantined himself because he thinks he might have Covid-19. I doubt it. The only compulsive attention-seeker in this world who keeps complaining that people won't leave him alone.

Gillette lemon lime shaving foam still available today here in the UK, made in Germany.
Cheers🥃

Thanks for the fun shave, theme and dad advice. Seriously love the vintage gear.
Great shave. I love it when you pull out the vintage gear.
Great shave Bri....uh I mean Sinatra! I've been wanting to try out those vintage blue blades for awhile now

Good old Frank Sinatra , the Beatles, the Gillette brand and SL shaving his yard face haha. Well done buddy great shave 🪒. Thank you.

I really like those themed shaves you do. It's also pretty damn cool how many vintage products you own that are still usable.

johnshaves 101 you can still sit in your garden during quarantine
I second the recommendation for Gillette Foamy in the red can. It’s my go to if I’m using canned foam. Great scent

Probably CFCs in that aerosol can ~ lmao good video though!!
Yard! That's what we have man

I have never try this 🍋 lime shaving cream before.
Great shave SL. Kind of off topic, but if you were to shave every day for a week or so with grampa grungy what # would you set him at?
I always keep him at 7
@@SinatraLennon Wow, even shaving every 24 hours?
Nice shave, love your Friday night shaves. Speaking of Franks, ever listen to Zappa? I know you are a big music fan.
Thx dad!
Having been born in the 1970s, I miss TG&Y.
The K&B as well. I miss the 70s sometime.
I think your videos Are making me strong one question which deodorant do you use stay safe best greetings from me
Great shave SL and so refreshing to watch something other than the gloom & doom BS 💈
Do you remember a show in the 1970's on PBS called "Big Blue Marble"?
I think so, yes!
I can't believe you use those old creams.
No brush? What?!? Are you serious? LOL! Doesn't all these shaves and foams have expiry dates? Haha
Is the aftershave reproduction or is it original 1950's?
It's vintage
It’s vintage!
