I have two of these and will buy some more however they have one big problem. The circuit board in inside the incubation chamber and is subjected to a high temperature, humid environment which kills the electronics after a while. I have taken to placing the circuit board outside the incubator and extending the leads and temp sensor to run inside the box.

Great Ideas mate. I rarely run any water in there now, I find and initial bit bit of moisture with some foam added to reduce the evaporation and then running dry from then on actually gives me great hatch results, just a matter of watching the air sack to make sure it is sitting at the right size by candling. My electrical skills are not the greatest and I am sure if I tried to move the controller I would break it.

@@DownunderFarmandForge before I moved here I had no problems with it and got a great hatch rate I haven't used it much since being here and we get big swings in temperature so I will see how this lot goes I am on day 13 I think... not my eggs though and alreafy had an egg explode for the first time every, one crack and another start ozing... not the incubator causing the problem I think the place I got the eggs was the problem 🤷‍♀️
I hope you have a good hatch 🙏

@@Janderra one day in and all looks good by torch light, I won’t open until day 9 unless there is a problem, that is the recommended start of candling day

Just got my second one of these... sold last one cause I thought I'd never do it again.. Yeah that didn't last long..haha..
I've done dry incubating once with quail... have u don't dry hatch with this with chickens? I'm on coast.. surprised in South Aus. that this time of year humidity outside is high... I'm wondering how no water in winter will be fine.. ah well can only try I guess.

lol always the way as soon as you get rid of something you need it. I have not gone down the Dry hatch path yet, without a roster at the moment I don't have the fertilized eggs to put in to run another batch.

@@DownunderFarmandForge ah well.. I guess I'll let you know how I go... I put them in this arvo. So if I find u again I'll let you know lol.
Look for a local fb group for livestock and more than likely you can find eggs.
I got this same incubator cause it did a good job.. my 1st ever hatch I got 100% just one pipped tho and didn't make it. I was quite stoked.

I’m hoping to move to the States next year so more chickens aren’t really on the cards for the moment, my 5 keep me more than covered for now. Love to hear how you go, hit the subscribe button and that way you will know where I’m at.

      @@DownunderFarmandForge sweet as. Will do.
Have friends over there.... things are really bad there... they've opened boarders and ppl are going crazy all over.. apperenlty many ppl in America are worried cause they are coming in by the thousands everyday and attacking ppl and they have bad food shortages and even ppl driving teslas are even in food drive lines as food and jobs are getting scarce. So be careful it's looking like all chaos will be happening there.
      Hitting sub 😊

Hey Greg, I got it from Poultry Australia, they were pretty helpful and also have links to fertile eggs

Sorry second reply was later, don't always get notified of replies, I was really happy with how it worked, Hatch was a fizzle but that was on the rooster shooting blanks, it kept get temperature and humidity but you can't get development in unfertilized eggs.
