Actually, many of these frames were likely made in the same frame factory in China. The frames sold to Pinarello in Italy have the serial numbers on them. Even though it says “Made in Italy,” it really means the rest of the bike was simply assembled in Italy. The Pinarello frames were not made in Italy. The other frames made in the factory can be made with whatever bottom bracket you want. They were selling that frame naked, but it was still a real Pinarello frame. At the time, you could get one for around $500 US. Installing your own groupset and other higher end components would actually make for a very nice bike. The imposter you have does have quality control issues and I think the plastic guide covers for the internal cables are missing, which covers the defects you have shown, but there are some that are perfect and without any of the issues. The other thing about the fork tube clearance, each bike had a matched fork tube. If you replaced the one, it was not then still matched to the frame. Like you said, there is a serial number on the fork tube.
I would honestly worry less about which one is fake or real and try to get the right size frame for the rider. Who rides a bike with 5cm of spacers under the steerer and stem with a positive rise, both bikes. Get a less expensive bike that fits, real or not. Is this a bike shop? Ever heard of bike fitting? Not trying to be mean, just a thought.
@@RuanvanderLinde Hi Ruan, no I don’t work for a bike-shop, but I’ve been building bikes for myself and friends for many years, helping to fit them etc. I can understand if people get the bike size wrong when they are new to the sport and doing it by them selfs for the first time, not having a frame of reference etc, but when a bike shop gets it wrong for them, it makes me a bit angry, and it does happen more often than one would think. Hope you are doing well.
pinarello price is sky rocket, pinarello get huge margin compare to their cost production. now image how much the fake pinarello give profits for its producer 🤔
i have a fake one from leighs cycle centre , we payed 10 grand for it because it was caught in a sceme or something , i mean , i bought it , dura ace all the components of a real pinarello but a fake frame. so for me it was a good deal
Great deal. Ive had clients riding the fake frames with no issues. Amd really enjoying them. But Ive had friends and clients that had the worst of luck with these frames
3 minutes in, The white/black bike on the lefts downtube cable routing look horizontal where in the quick glimpse at the two together the white/red frame on the right’s routing looked to be diagonal. So, Having had a Pinarello purchased from a Pinarello AD, I’m going to say the white/black on the left is the true Pinarello & the red/white on the right is the impostor. Okay, now to hit play again to see how wrong I was 😂👍
You can do that, if that is your hearts desire just to trick people in thinking you have the real deal. The video was all about showing how good the fake bikes look. And that the real deal bikes also have flaws.
It should be auper obvious when buying a bike. Maybe when your ready. Reach out. Im sure the whole cycling community will stand and help out in a blink

Probably the only difference is that one bike frame comes out the front door and the other one comes out the back when it has questionable QC.
The real answer is in the bottom bracket thread. Real Pinarello’s have Italian threading, fake ones English...
You are correct. We can install a campagnolo super record 11 crankset for the fake.
Love the accent. Cheers to my brus in South Africa!
Hehe. We have to try hey.
Very good :)
the super cheap saddle and the fork gap gave it away for me from the start
Super Good!
Where can I get one of the fake ones ?
Hey man. I have no idea. Have never ordered one.
The sloppy cable holes gave it away for me..
what for side is a pinarelllo FP TEAM 49? it is like 52-53
Hi. Are you talking about the size of the frame ?
@@RuanvanderLinde yes ,,,,49 pinarello side is like 52/53 in a normal bike side,,,,
Yes. Should be more or less. I usually ride a 56. But I fit good on the "54" size in pinarello.
Best would be to measure your inseam. And then use the sizing chart from pinarello
Seat post clamp, is not from China, the internal cable holes need to be perfect or they ditch the frame.
But ty, ty for this video
The question should be whats the difference?
Carbon that is being used is a big difference, weight , paint quality
Serial number 😉
Just buy the cheapest.. anywhere most people cannot tell the difference...
Haha. That is so true
Yeah but it's important what you think not other people and when you know that you ride the real Pinarello is other thing 😉

Yes. This is a bike shop. And the client did buy new bikes. Thanks for your insights. Do you work at a bike shop or own one ?

Great. Nice to see same knowledge being used to help friends. Stay safe out there. Jip. Wrong bike sizes being sold so much more than people know
Did the real one say made in Italy too or just the fake? Aloha 🤙
Wow. Did the video a while ago. I really cant remember. If I spot the bike again Ill be sure to check
But why would they go so far to fake it?
Thats just what they do. Ive also been thinking what the big reason was behind it all...

You know your bike🤙🤙
Where are these fake frames manufactured and are coming from never knew fake bikes existed before seeing this Video
It's coming from China and they do a remarkable job, a lot of these Pinarello you are seeing dudes riding are fake.
100% Im not saying its a bad thing. Great frames coming from china. All I am saying. Make it your own then.
Seatpost bolt on fake bike looks like it came from a hardware store. Junk.
Made in Italy.. Make its fake 😂
The red or the black one ? The red is the fake one. Black one is the real deal
Not a very helpful video. Who says you can't put a serial number on the fake bike from an authentic bike that was totaled ?
You can do that, if that is your hearts desire just to trick people in thinking you have the real deal. The video was all about showing how good the fake bikes look. And that the real deal bikes also have flaws.
