I thank You God for Tim Mackie! I couldn't have asked for a more perfectly imperfect human being to explain God's Word to me! He speaks the language of my generation. I needed this so much, it brings tears to my eyes. I listen to these sermons everywhere. I can't seem to get enough because at last it is making sense. Thank You, my God! All glory and praise to my Savior, Jesus Christ!

Tim, this is the most insightful lesson on this I have ever heard. Thankful to the Father for the gift He has given us through you and the Incarnate Love of Yeshua.

      HALLELUYAH!!!

Shalom All! Would be wonderful to have you consider what some Biblical scholars and historians have done in collaboration with Michael Rood and some of his colleagues at A Rood Awakening -- there have been some pivotal discoveries related to Biblical history in the last few years. aroodawakening.tv/

"You said it," also establishes a seed that has root of truth set in Pilates heart. So fascinating to meditate on these.

Being silent puts all the responsibility on Pilate for the decision. He is alone in his commitment for what to do.

A theory my Grandfather recently proposed for a reason that Judas sold Jesus for the silver, was that he was trying to force His hand against the Romans...because most Jews believe the Messiah would be a great military leader. Judas' returning of the silver could be that, once he saw Jesus condemned and that his own actions didn't spur some physical battle against the empire, he realized that he caused innocent blood to be shed and it tortured his soul.

Didn't he commit suicide afterwards? Your grandfather's theory makes sense to me

I have heard that hypothesis before -- and that it would cause Jesus's crowds of followers to rise up against the Romans too -- and it makes sense.

I thought that because Judas was the treasurer
,the Levitical priests bought a blemish free lamb for Passover, and they didn’t even realize it. Every year they had to pick out and purchase a lamb. That’s what made me really think about what Judas did

Oh my goodness. What an extraordinary sermon. As I listen to this during lent 2022 we are confronted with a war in the Ukraine. But America is not innocent. It too has bullied weaker nations with its overwhelming military. I am glad he brought up the issue of jeans and slavery. Tim is a gentle man. But much more damning is America's use of drugs and the massacres that occur in Mexico as a result. I would be very surprised if there were no women in the congregation that did not have an abortion. Or men that have had illicit sex resulting in an unwanted child. All guilty. I live in Australia and am confronted by the reality that my boys may have to go to war because of the actions of America and my government in conducting unjust wars. And yet we have so many large churches that teach the very prosperity that results in these issues. Is there no end to this greed. Israel was sent to exile because they forsook God's covenant living a form of religion. Yet the false prophets spoke of peace and prosperity. What to do. Tim has said it earlier in the series. Love God. Love your neighbour. Jesus knows all this. He is the only one who is innocent. By the way my Bible rarely uses the word Messiah. The evidence is overwhelming that the Holy Spirit has given us the word Christ. I know they mean the same thing but I believe the Holy Spirit knew what he was doing. Jesus is the Christ. Paul referred to Jesus as Christ I am sure. I suspect He wanted to make a clear distinction between the old and new Covenants. Just as Jesus gave new meaning to the Passover meal.

Great message Tim. Thank you! I also want to know more about the field of blood purchased and the old testament reference (at 30:40). That's a big cliffhanger!
