I really want to know how this Church responded to this teaching. Which I suspect is actually what Jesus has been telling us for 2000 years and somehow we get distracted on other issues. Can someone please tell me how this has impacted their Church? I love the way Tim challenges his listeners to respond to the message each time.
So when you ask to pray for someone who's sick that's gossip? I find that hard to believe because it would mean we would never be able to ask to pray for a shared loved one or even for other people in the world who are facing hard times. As with almost every pastor/preacher, explaining Scripture is just Tim's personal view on things.
It is gossip if the person who is sick or facing hard times hasn’t asked for you to share it with others. If you yourself know they are sick or are facing hard times, then YOU pray; if you’d like to pray with others, simply ask the person who is sick (or their family) for permission first. Praying for others doesn’t give us license to talk about people behind their backs.
