All reviews are just subjective preferences determined by internal and external variables, that don't appeal to logic, rather post hoc rationalization. They are non-cognitive, non-real, non-descriptive. It's odd as you're just comparing 2 intuitions against each other, with "favourite" vs. "better". There is no such thing as an objective better/ best film. A subject, can subjectively have any preference, either determined by prior internal/ external cause or random due quantum indeterminacy. It wouldn't even be objective if every single subject agreed that 'x' was the best, it still would not be. It could only mean at best, that we have some 'objective' biological constraint to have a subjective preference to 'x'. Even if a god/s themselves came to earth and declared it objective aesthetics, it still wouldn't be, because a) god is a subject b) there's no stance independent aesthetics c) there's no objective, non-circular reason why you ought to care what a god/s thinks about aesthetics. For example, you could say 'x' has objectively the highest quality camera, therefore footage. But why is higher quality objectively better to a subject? Why "ought" a subject have preference 'x', they may have preference for potato quality film. As for me, I have enjoyed; 300, Watchmen, Mos, BvS, JL. Do I like all his films? How much time till snyder crybabies began chanting "we want the snydercut", "it's the studio fault", "you are all dumb and star wars that copied his ideas". The himbo madman strikes again.
At this point, a warning to all movie studios when hiring Zack Snyder, you are likely going to be blamed for the terrible film from him. WB learned from this and Netflix is going to pay the price.
Its funny that people like you are meming snydercut, when that's exactly what is planned. When they were negotiating with Netflix he wanted to do the two movies as R rated. But Netflix wanted PG13 so kids could watch it. And Netflix proposed for two version to be made and that's what happened. R rated versions with gore and sex for both 1 and 2 are set to release after a while.
@@-BlazeK-does that mean that the entire story is hidden behind sex, cursing, and gore? Somehow I don’t think that will make this better. Look, Snyder's had plenty of chances for years. Someone needs to stop giving him movies to direct. Seems he always says he's going to do a new cut or add footage to an old film of his. Just *STOP* it already. There's folks out there with talent and not given an opportunity because of films being directed like this.

It’s baffling he went up to eleven on every point of critisism on his work. The weirdest thing to me is how bad the action was. He made action look like paintings, even if you hate BVS you can’t deny how awesome the Batman warehouse action was. But besides those last 3 movies having the worst plots, dialogue and characters, he even seems to not understand when to go to bullet time and when to zoom in and out of the action… I genuinely was looking forward to Rebel Moon, hoping for redemption after the disaster of a zombie heist movie. Nope. It was just as bad if not worse.

He's copying Tolkein. Each of the Lord of the Rings is split into parts 1 and 2. By the end of Return of the King, Frodo and Sam are at Mount Doom in Part 6 of his trilogy. I'm not justifying ZS or saying his story deserves that treatment. It absolutely does not, but a six part trilogy is technically a thing that has existed in the past.
The WORST part is that Netflix is increasing subscription prices to pay for this shit. We (as Netflix subscribers) actually bought this whether we wanted it or not. FUCK
when this was announced,, the BROS who cry about Disney making Star Wars WOKE, wanted this to be their new STAR WARS, oh and this turns out to be WORSE than what Disney has created.
Me and my wife love Star Wars, and label us as bros if you will, but the latest movies sucked. That doesn't somehow translate into Rebel Moon because being made. On the flip side there are excellent SciFi movies and shows of late, from Dune to last month's 3 Body Problem, which featured a diverse cast plus a female lead. We love the series not because of their diversity inclusions, we love them because they focus on telling a good story. It saddens me that people think somehow liking and hating a show is somehow politically driven. It's always been the other way around. People made politically driven shows when viewers just want a good story that doesn't have agendas attached.
Disney and other big corporations/their art suck not because they’re “woke”, but because they’re soulless focus group creativity-starved capitalist pieces of garbage. Indie filmmakers from studios without shareholders to give more and more money to, like A24, are still killing it.
I've never seen soooooooo many slowmotions in one movie... every single thing that happened had to have a stupid slow-mo part.. In my country it's illegal to take the drugs Snyder was taking to make this movie..

Angry Joe: Snyder is currently writing the third film Alex: Let's hope he runs out of crayons! That was a far better one liner than any from this trash movie
When my kids and I watched this film, we so wanted to like this film, but the shear stupidity of virtually every scene made that impossible. Problem is, nothing about the story made any sense. We knew it was doomed when they spent 15 minutes telling each "hero's' back story. Why Snyder felt that that was necessary is anyone's guess. Utterly pointless, and boring. A futuristic society that harvests grain by hand cutting it with scythes, but don't even bother to use their draft animals. Yet they are advanced enough to have hover craft to move the cut grain?!?!?!? Worse, one of the main characters somehow managed to needlepoint 5 separate hero banners in less than the 5 emergency get ready for battle days. Really? That was her priority when everyone else in this tiny little town is cutting grain and digging elaborate hideaway ditches? Then the bad guys have this massive dread-naught hovering over the town with the intent of wiping out the rebels. A futuristic dread-naught that needs to use a periscope to target the townsfolk from the sky? HUH, who thought that that was a good idea? The locals get their asses handed to them on the ground, and yet somehow they have more people survive than were in the film at the beginning? But all the battle hardened, heavily armed and armored soldiers lose and get killed? What insanity is that? It was downright laughable when Kora is on board the ship and about to blow up the engine room where the audience is treated to see that the ship is coal powered? How dumb was that? And exactly how in the universe did the folks on the dread naught not see the third drop ship get blown up on the ground, only to have a third drop ship land on board ship with no required clearance, and then they Kora to the med bay for treatment? Nothing about the story made any sense. The rebels have a highly advanced battle droid, who is more preoccupied with contemplating its own existence then help the civilian towns folk. He then waits until more than half the town has been killed before he decides to put in his own defense. Nice. Talk about a useless character there. And when the dread naught has finally and miraculously been destroyed, the cavalry arrives to save the day by destroying the remaining scraps of enemy forces. Who called on the cavalry (the mercenary smugglers left behind from the first film) to arrive just when they did? And exactly how did they know where to go and when to arrive? It was like the entire story line was written by a 5 year old.
I share Joe's sentiment. I was lmao'ing most of the way through the movie - even my better half managed to giggle at the ridiculousness of it all, and she's normally very grumpy when movies are stupid. Though we did fast-forward a lot. I think we watched the entire movie in around one hour.
