    American side was made in to a State Park while Canada is more of a tourist destination. I enjoyed the Canada side because of all the shops.

    Clifton hill isn't it? Atleast that's what they used to call it. I never even heard of it before until me and my gf were invited to go for a friend's bday. We parked in some back road and walked down there and we walk around the last corner and I thought we were transported to Vegas or some shit. I was blown away because Ive never been to Vegas and I wasn't expecting anything like what this place in Canada was offering. I only live maybe an hour from the border and wondered why we didn't go more often. Then someone asked if I was driving next and havnt been back since. 🤣🤣🤣.

    The very Burger King pictured was a a scene of teenage drama for me.
    My fiend’s father owned a music teaching studio and they had a competition every year. He would hire us to work at it and pay us plus provide a hotel room for the weekend. For two 15 year old’s this was great! Well, one night after work, we had a few drinks and were in this Burger King. At a table across from us, there was another group of teenagers, slightly older. One of the girls were smiling, flirting with me, but I knew better than to flirt back as I can see her boyfriend was getting jealous. He started yelling at me at one point, and came over in front of me. His friends were telling me to ignore him, as he was on acid lol at any rate, we got out of there at the girl followed us out. She felt so bad that she came back to my hotel room and had sex with me lol.

    Dang US side, step up your game! The Canadians have us beat. XD
    Seriously though this is cool. It reminds me a little of Westminster, CA, just before you hit Knots. There is a lot of random tourist sites...most all kind of dead by now and not really functional. Though the history remains.

    • @weirdthingstoeat7198
      @weirdthingstoeat7198 8 місяців тому +1

      I went to a local mall close to Niagara Falls.. the U.S. side, and it was TOTALLY *DEAD* in there. They EVEN HAD an Avon shop in the mall, which I recall you can ONLY SELL by the book. I guess Avon made exceptions.
      If the mayor in Niagara Falls, N.Y. gets their act together, they can make it *BETTER* than the Canadian side, and *LESS* gaudy looking.
      All you need is a marketing team to back it up.

  • @kevintaylor791
    @kevintaylor791 Рік тому +5

    Was the QEW closed? Why would the bus take you though the middle of St Catharines to get to Niagara Falls? I cannot imagine a worse way to get to NF from TO than Welland avenue.
    Clifton Hill is gaudy, but it's pretty tame, and very safe. it is FAR from the 'Craziest" street in Canada. Not even in Ontario.
    You want crazy: East Hastings Street, Vancouver BC; the day after monthly welfare checks come out.

    • @DasNordlicht91
      @DasNordlicht91 Рік тому +1

      I’d say the gaudiness of Clifton Hill is part of its charm. It’s hard to imagine it without the Skywheel or the Frankenstein Burger King.

    • @kevintaylor791
      @kevintaylor791 Рік тому +1

      @@DasNordlicht91 No disagreement from me. All I meant was that it's got a lot going on, but is generally pretty safe and fun. I guess my view of a "crazy" street is a bit skewed having working on both Clifton Hill, and East Hastings. Clifton Hill pays less, but is 4/10 crazy. EHA pays more, but not nearly enough... on check day and full moon..... it's 12/10 crazy.

    • @SingleAndAlmostBrokeinSurrey
      @SingleAndAlmostBrokeinSurrey Рік тому +2

      ... because the USA side of Niagara Falls is a State Park. It's better that way to keep the natural state of the park.

    • @weirdthingstoeat7198

      @@Navy35 They (the *American* side) can make it into a beautiful and trendy tourist destination *without* the *gaudiness* of the Canadian side.
      For the American side, *eliminate* the wax museums, Ripley's 'Believe it or not', Haunted Houses, *SUPERSIZED* Frankenstein HEAD that are on the Canadian side, and *ELIMINATE* that *TOTALLY DEAD* mall on the American side, and put in glow in the dark bowling and mini golf, trendy *inexpensive* restaurants serving *ethnic* food (calling it Flavors of Niagara), seasonal ice cream shops like Baskin Robbins, in the winter months open a "free skate" near the Falls, ice sculptures throughout the State Park, and free sledding for the kids and families. And where the mall was, I'd open a year round waterslide.
      Myself, being in Advertising and Marketing, I would create something *AWESOME* on the American side. It has been *NEGLECTED* for *GENERATIONS* , and it *NEEDS* TLC to bring it back to life.
      It needs Planning AND Money to make this work. Also, *ADVERTISING AND MARKETING* once this is all put together.
