I used to watch welcome back Carter because of Lawrence Hilton Jacobs. I hope that he didn’t have to perform any favors to get to where he is. So I personally know a child star and in California, if they are principal actors on a film set, their parents are required to open a blocked trust account for them. It is called Coogan's Law. It's blocked so their parents or guardians can not access it. The bank are the trustees. Granted it is only a small amount that must go into the account, but by the time Amanda turned 18, she would have had a lot of money in an account for her.

However, didn't Ashley/Amanda or whatever or name is today say that she was broke too? If she legally changed it, how would she get it if her checks are being made out to her government name? I need some of this to make sense to me.
A lot of these child stars are broke, I agree. However, the law that was enacted to prevent should have been enacted everywhere because filming doesn't just take place in California and the few other places where this is enforced.

My dad told me a crazy story about John Travolta. Dad was in the Navy in the early 80's and was aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He said one day it was a big deal when they heard John Travolta was about to helicopter onto the ship. When he got there, he picked up a seaman from the ship that was deemed a "family friend" or whatever. Whether relevant or not, the guy he picked up was said to be quiet and a little odd, possibly gay according to a few acquaintances. Not "out" I assume. They flew off for the day and he was brought back much later that evening. Dad said it was strange and the guy refused to discuss it. Probably just one of many scenarios now out of Travolta being gay. He told me this story a long time ago and it never really sounded too odd until all of this stuff started coming out. Travolta has been doing this for a long time apparently.
