I've been using medibang for a while
I like how satisfying the interface is, the colors, the rich dark blacks make focusing easier

I actually have the program running now,
It's kinda screwy how few programs there are for the development of artwork
      Like music production & this
We need more software development with artists to prepare the right tools
Like what's the deal with Photoshop tools not being available? You know, on anywhere but Photoshop
Where are the options to compare against our target?
How many brushes for our work? Both brush literally and as a metaphor for applications as a new type of brush
I'm learning coding so that might be fun . . . dun Dun Dun!

I really like Medibang's interface but Krita does have better performance if your trying to create a big high res project

9:04 you can switch to subwindow mode, Go to settings > configure Krita > general section > window tab and choose subwindow in the multiple document mode drop down to have windows undocked. You can even detach the tools and the canvas separately, there is a cockpit mode and dual screen editing mode in the workspace dropdown.

Thank you so much! We didn't know this

I guess it works only for one sub-window.
Tip: you can switch between windows/tabs by "Ctrl+Tab" there.

In the video the krita liquify was set to "Scale", I guess it work better in "move" mode

We tried all the modes, we just showed a part of how we used it.

Yeah, liquify tool is terrible, but there are brushes that do the same thing without the latency, it's just applied automatically while in liquify you can tweak a whole lot before applying it, but it never bothered me that much.

As a comic artist, i was in Krita but migrate to Medibang. The reason? Krita doesn't recreat the dinamic of a real brush traditional lines (especialy for hatching) on inking work over pencils. But both programs are awesome! Nice video!

From what I've learned you have to convert the colours in Medibang Paint from RGB into CMYK before you transfer it in PSD file format so you can know the true colours of what you're going to get😅 but with krita.....what pissed me off was how hollow my drawings or pictures got. Instead of just removing the background normally it removes the background behind the picture as well and when i check it in PNG the original colours look dim because of the hollow effect that they is nothing behind it but overall I like it

Challenge: Make realistic planet of Mars or Earth in Medibangpaint without using Sphere Effect, which is not existent in both.

I'm a former medibang user that just started using krita due to extreme pen lag after the last update. In krita the pen tends to lag a little bit as well, any advice on this pls?
    Also, great video guys!

    • @CyanOrangeStudio
      @CyanOrangeStudio  2 роки тому +5

Pen lag is usually linked to the performance of your PC. Usually a drawing app/software demands memory RAM and if you use liquify or something similar a decent graphic cards and a processor.

I hate brush-eraser change in Krita it’s horrible for shortcut and it messes up with beginner’s workflow they can’t get to another drawing software after Krita because of the different shortcuts and different tool UI it’s horrible for experienced users I hate it

For hotkey to resize brush on Medibang on Mac , hold on Atl/Option and Command and hold down your mouse button and drag the curser to get a different brush size.

As someone who has used both, Krita is superior by miles. Medibang is very lacking in features but in Krita you get almost everything. The Liquify does suck but it's better than nothing. Medibang is definitely better for beginners, though.
