Corey said he wrote the lyrics to the song on the dashboard of his car while driving from Denver to Iowa in 1996. He had moved to Denver to check out the music scene, but after determining that it wasn’t working in Colorado he decided to move home. He wrote this during the car ride.
if you like corey taylor's voice check out the "Super group" The Sound City Players song is "From Can to Can't" features corey on vocals, Dave Grohl on drums, and Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick on guitar!!!!!
Man, I wish I could go back to when this came out. Brings back so many chill memories with friends, I was 18 years old when this came out and everything seemed so alive then. I relate more to this song now then I did then, back then I was just a young kid, just finishing high school and thought I related to this song. Now I know what it's really like to relate to this song as I have gotten older.
Alright.....getting into some Stone Sour. I'm really excited. Corey Taylor is the man and so talented. He did write the lyrics to this song. Some songs to check out "Say You'll Haunt Me", they do an amazing cover of "Wicked Game" and "Song #3" which is the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding. 🤘❤
What I always get from this song is him talking about his depression and his self destructive habits that he battled for so long. It’s a song I really relate to
This song still makes me cry. I used to listen to this song when i was deeply depressed and felt so much sadness and emptiness. This song spoke to me so much. I felt every word. Hearing it now reminds me of when my life was so dark and tired and it makes me sad but also glad i survived it.
Nice choice for today's reaction guys! This one is a melodic touching song. It really gets you in the feels.😥 Through the glass is also a favorite of mine. And very much a feeling since 2020 began. The video def brought me back. I remember hearing it for the first time in Cleveland Ohio. Summer of 09' 😌 When the music hits the soul.🎶💯🔥🎶
*If you haven't, could you please react to Corey Taylor Snuff live?? Pick the one where he's wearing a white tshirt playing an acoustic guitar. You can feel the pain and rush of emotions coming from him*
I was actually listening to this song when it first came out. As I was listening to it I got a phone call that a friend of mine died. This song really hits me.
The Third Song, unrequited love and going the distance, even if the other person doesn't or won't. Corey wrote it, there is an accoustic version that will melt you.
Corey went to a slipknot show and knew he had to sing for this band because he loved what they stood for and style. It was over after that. Zzyx Road - Stone Sour Good song similar to this one emotion wise and is a masterpiece. He loves boths bands as outlets its just not every lyric he writes fits slipknot and vice versa. As he gets older i know he loves slipknot but he is having more trouble making it through a slipknot set. He does well dont get it twisted but he isnt a kid anymore lol
I’ve seen Stone Sour and Slipknot live, both amazing shows in different ways. Love to see more Stone Sour reactions . Would love to see more Falling in Reverse. Please react to The Drug in Me is You and Drug in Me is reimagined in one video so you can be blown away by the difference.
I know it probably doesn't relate but, I lost my wife last Wednesday to COVID and Stone Sour's "Imperfect" has really been talking to me. Aside from that, it's just a really good song from them. 💙🙏🏼💙
Great reaction! This song is so amazing... Corey Taylor has got to b one of the most talented musician in the game! He's just all over the place, his voice is incredible.. he can sing, he can rap, he's a screamo/metal .. I've only heard 2 Stone Sour songs 2, this one.. and -Through the Looking Glass-....both r great songs
there's a bbc documentary on slipknot with live sessions from 2019, you guys might enjoy it. it turns out Corey saw slipknot in the mid 90's playing and loved the music, attitude and energy so much, he just told himself "I'm going to sing for these guys" and made it happen. oh...there's some dope accoustic stone sour pieces that are amazing...Song #3, Mercy, Red Rose Violent Blue (this song is dumb), Cardiff, Wicked Game, Through the glass....and a bunch more i can't quite remember XD oh and a Rage Against The Machine cover of Bombtrack...Corey's rapping comes through on that one
Stone Sour Get Inside & Monolith & Inhale. The 1st album was a great one and amazing songs that you just cant stop listening to, im just gonna say listen to the whole album at this point.
Corey was actually front ant center at the first Slipknot concert and he said to himself that he is going to sing for this band and then they asked him while he was working in a pornshop! :D
Hey guys, you should check out Ice Nine Kills, they write most of their songs based on horror films or famous literature, I'd reccomend "Hell in the Hallways" about Carrie or "Your Numbers Up" about the scream movies, I think you'd love this metalcore band, cheers from Canada
As good as this one is, I would love to see you guys react to his live version of this from his London solo show. You get the full brunt of his emotions + the crowd joining in with him. Really elevates this song.
This song marks an extremely dark point in my life, don't worry it was 16/17 years ago and i'm way beyond it, now when i hear it the sad feelings are gone and i just feel a weird sense of nostalgia.
Great reaction guys. I like Slipknot, but I love Stone Your (and of cause Through the Glass😅). Just so you don't get the wrong impression.... Stone Sour wasn't only doing ballads! Get Inside or Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero are good examples for their heavier side. Apocalyptica feat Corey Taylor "I'm not Jesus" IS another great song to appreciate Corey's vocal abilities. Please check out Kid Bookie (a UK rapper) feat. Corey Taylor "Stuck in my ways". Subbed! Greetings from Germany!
Cory Taylor is one of the best, yet under rated talent in music right now. Between Cory & David Draiman, it's a tough choice of who is the top vocalist is metal at this time. And yes, Cory Taylor wrote the song. The Wiki article states he wrote the song after he had moved back to De Moines after trying to advance his singing career in Denver.
The live version from Corey's solo show in London - this performance is INCREDIBLE. The crowd participation will floor you.
That show is special next level stuff Cory Taylor is the best acoustic performer
And now you've given a massive Slipknot and Stone Sour fan something totally new to watch that I didn't know existed, thank you so much!
Yeah, but you have to hear the studio version to understand what's so special about that live performance.
Too true. I was at that show. We made his nipples hard 😂😂😂
Another great Stone Sour song is "ZZYX Road"
Absolutely beautiful song, one of favourite Stone Sour songs🤘🤘🤘
Love that song so much!
ZZYX Road? I thought that it was Zzyzx Road
@@matthewbartley1935 yeah you are right
Absolutely great song
This one punches you right in the feels. Looks like Smokey was about to have an out of body experience to this!
Right!! 🤜🤛😂
Just wanted to say thank you for not typing “outer body experience”... it drives me nuts when people say/ write that 😆😩
Corey Taylor is one in a million. He also writes books, and comics. He does everything.
So if someone asked Cory Taylor, "What do you do? He would say, "Yes!"
Corey said he wrote the lyrics to the song on the dashboard of his car while driving from Denver to Iowa in 1996. He had moved to Denver to check out the music scene, but after determining that it wasn’t working in Colorado he decided to move home. He wrote this during the car ride.
“Get inside” is definitely my favorite Stone Sour song. That whole first album is fire.
Yes, such a great album and Get Inside is a hell of a way to start it.
Great choice.
I rocked the shit out of that album in high school🤘😛🤘
if you like corey taylor's voice check out the "Super group" The Sound City Players song is "From Can to Can't" features corey on vocals, Dave Grohl on drums, and Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick on guitar!!!!!

Found myself back in class freshman year lol excellent song! Love the commentary!
Get Inside was their debut single and it is still their best song. And it's nothing like Bother or Through Glass 😉🤘🏻
Hell yes! Cover that one guys! Get inside!!!
Oh yeah. I forgot about that song.
@@_Slicedbread @metalguru85 that whole album is golden. Get inside specifically was like their answer to how to do NuRock/NuMetal right lol
I would argue that Tumult is even better.
Do the uncensored version tho

Wicked Game surprise the shit out of me my mom was a big Chris Isaak fan so when I saw that I had to listen to it and I was quite impressed
@@zachchristensen1104 it caught me by surprise when I first heard it. I love it. I remember the song being a huge hit in thr 90s.
Beautiful. All the best

Get inside is definitely a great song from stone sour 👍
That another classic
This is the song that introduced me to Stonesour.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Brings me back to high school memories.
Hellyeah Don't care anymore Great song yeah watch it It will give you goose pimples every time you watch it and listen to it
Just subbed! Great reaction, I'm love seeing people show the same appreciation and love for music as myself. I'm here for the ride now!

God damn guys!!!
Love the reactions
Best on UA-cam
I love the blues influence in this song. So smooth and very emotional.
Great reaction fellas, H6, Amazing and beautiful are the perfect words for this song.
This whole album is great. Songs like "Tumult" ,"Blue Study", "Get Inside" and the last track "Omega" is a cool spoken word/poem.
Nice choice for today's reaction guys! This one is a melodic touching song. It really gets you in the feels.😥 Through the glass is also a favorite of mine. Those lyrics are 100 Percent all Corey. Dude's a musical genius. Great Reaction! Try 30/30/150 for another side of Stone Sour. 🤘🔥🤘

Yes!!! Please!
Corey puts himself out there like no other artist period, and it's beautiful!
I was actually listening to this song when it first came out. As I was listening to it I got a phone call that a friend of mine died. This song really hits me.
Corey wrote this song over 25 years ago on the dashboard of his friends car while traveling from Denver back to Iowa.
The Third Song, unrequited love and going the distance, even if the other person doesn't or won't. Corey wrote it, there is an accoustic version that will melt you.
This song hurts and soothes my soul all at the same time. So much solace.
Great reaction guys I remember when this song came out 🔥🔥🔥
I love that smokey had his eyes closed and just felt it.
song #3, say you'll haunt me, 30/30-150, do me a favor, absolute zero, made of scars, tired, digital (did you tell), fabuless
Hell yeah is a mixture of Pantera damage plant and mud vein You are love the songs they play
Corey went to a slipknot show and knew he had to sing for this band because he loved what they stood for and style. It was over after that.
Zzyx Road - Stone Sour

Stone sours songs Gone sovereign/Absolute Zero would be a great peak into the heavier side of this band
*One of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONGS!! Thanks guys❤*
Thank god for this. I was getting sick of Baby metal and Tool. I mean RESPECT, but it's too much.
That shit has all the feels - you should check out the official video for it!
Speechless isn't always so bad🤜🤛❤️ CT totally put his entire heart in this song and album. My heart loves it all
He's an incredible human being. One of the best

Goosebumps on top of goosebumps 🤘
CMFT!!! Love Stone Sour!
SNUFF, should be next . Yes I binge listen to these songs
One song that I like by Stone Sour that gets overlooked and has a bit of Slipknot turn in his voice is "Inhale". Check it out!
I know it probably doesn't relate but, I lost my wife last Wednesday to COVID and Stone Sour's "Imperfect" has really been talking to me. Aside from that, it's just a really good song from them. 💙🙏🏼💙
One of their couple of masterpieces!!!!
Cory might tell you what Maynard said about TOOL vs Perfect Circle. TOOL is his masculine side and Perfect Circle his feminine side.
“Two sides of the same coin” is how Corey described it once in an interview 😊
St. Marie. A beautiful song that shows another layer of this amazing singer.
The vibrations people channel reproduce for others to hear is so unbelievable
Seeing them live at 16 was awesome 🩶
This song hits way harder when he sings it live. Favorite Stone Sour song
His acoustic stuff is spectacular🥰🥰. And we Iowans are pretty fond of Corey and Slipknot 😁
Iron Maiden - "Aces High"
H6 I'm loving that Pink Floyd shirt!
You guys should react to PF- Mother, Young lust, In the flesh and Sorrow.
Man, this one kicks me right in the feelers....
When I'm really depressed and missing my dad I listened to this all day and just sing
great reaction, you guys should check out more stonesour!

Also the acoustic version of Snuff

that little guitar riff sounds so much as a red hot chilli pepper song..
Everybody does those 2 songs. Try "30/30-150" it's a little heavier.
Mission Statement is another really good one too. AudioSecrecy is a little softer of an album but that track gives it a good start.
As good as this one is, I would love to see you guys react to his live version of this from his London solo show. You get the full brunt of his emotions + the crowd joining in with him. Really elevates this song.

Love this song.
The main way the two bands knew of each other was because they were all from the Des Moines, Iowa metro area originally.
goddamnit I'll keep doing this Faith No More's Rappers I started a joke"
You have to watch the music video. Will give you chills.
The lead guitarist for Stone Sour is in Slipknot too
You haven't lived until you've heard Corey Taylor perform SpongeBob SquarePants live in London .. it's actually my ringtone
If i'm not mistaken this was about his relationship with his old man
He didn’t meet his dad until he was in his mid-30s. He wrote the song well before that.
I remember buying the Spider-Man soundtrack as a kid, loved this song on it.
I once seen The Dave Brocky Experience open for GWAR. Same guy in both bands. That's one you should check out.
Amazing song!!
Guys, check out his cover of Wicked Game. Thank me later
I just found you guys today. Have y'all done any reactions to country/red dirt music?
Last interview I saw with Corey Taylor he said his favourite kind of music was Disco
Yes corey wrote this entire song. The last verse is even the reason why he chose a zombie mask in slipknot.
Stone Sour - Say You’ll Haunt Me, 30/30-150, Song #3, Fabuless, & Taciturn.
