The non bald guitarist is Jim Root also from Slipknot. He was an OG from Stone Sour and followed Corey to Slipknot.

The Van Halen brown m&ms story was this. In the 80s they had a massive stage setup that required certain stage requirements for voltage and weight. But often venues didn't read the rider well and they had issues with both. So they added a requirement for their dressing room to have a bowl of M&Ms with the Brown ones removed. If the M&Ms weren't there or there were brown m&Ms they knew they needed an extensive check of all the systems.
It was really quite genius, because of the time it required, they figured they'd need a way to make sure it was done at a glance, because with the size and complexity of their set up, people could die.
This whole album is fire. Its a 2 cd album called House Of Gold And Bones. Its a concept album that follows a story from the 1st track on the first cd, to the last track on the 2nd. Theres a comic book that goes with it, that Corey was part of making.
Thanks for saying this. I’ve been a big fan of Corey/Slipknot and of Stone Sour radio songs but never dug into Stone albums. Now I want to.

Epic!!!!!! Gone Sovereign is a beast of a song.....then "Absolute Zero" hits!!!!!
So Stone Sour's first cd, which was self titled, was a bit heavier than they would later become. Some good ones from that album are Get Inside, Inhale, Orchids and of course Bother (which I think you guys already did). These 2 songs are from the concept albums they did for a comic book that Corey wrote call the House of Gold and Bones. Definitely should check out more Stone Sour, their catalog is phenomenal!
Orchids is one of my favorite songs. I've been obsessed with them since the first album. Audio Secrecy is the most melodic of all the albums but there's not a bad song on it. If you haven't already watched it, check out Corey Taylor Live in London. It's 2 hours of him doing an acoustic set of Slipknot and Stone Sour songs as well as cover tunes. It's phenomenal.

I love this combo of songs, Stone Sour has an amazing catalog. Check out Orchids, Get Inside, 30/30-150, Come Whatever May, Say You'll Haunt Me, Do Me A Favor, & Fabuless are some of their harder songs.

This is one (two) of Stone Sour's harder songs, and their best, IMO. You were spot on with the lyrics. He's not the devil, but he won't be your hero.

Josh Rand is the bald guitarist, Roy Mayorga is the drummer (and he's good right now he is playing with Ministry) the bass player is Johny Chow. Christan Martucci re placed Jim Root after he left the band. Cheak out Rose Red Violent Blue watch the video it shows a side of the guys you don't see every day.

The bald guitarist is Josh Rand at the time the the back up guitarist was Jim Root the Drummer is Roy Mayorga the bassist is Johnny Chow and of Corey Taylor. But Jim Root decided to quit stone sour to continue working with Slipknot.

So to the M&M thing. It was something they put in the contract for that specific tour to make sure venues read everything. If they went to the dressing room and brown M&M's were taken out they knew they read the contract. It was for safety because that tour they were using a newer rigging system that was super heavy and could damage things if not put together correctly, or something along those lines.

These two songs are presented back to back on the House of Gold and Bones, and with the outro of the 1st song blending to the intro of the next it's clear they were intended to be taken as a whole. There are songs through out musical history like this- Zeppelin's 'Heartbreaker/Livin Lovin Maid', Green Day's 'Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams' and Queen's 'We Will rock you/We Are the Champions' to name a few. I heard you mention radio friendly at the end too. This was on the radio, maybe even complete with his curse words. Even though we live in an easily offended society, I feel radio's become more lax with content, so long as it's limited in use, and makes sense within the context of the song. Psychostick's song 'NSFW' won't hit the radio obviously, but the occasional word within a song won't make a dent.

I agree with this....although the Sonosphere version where the girl gets swallowed up by the pit when it kicks in is pretty fantastic. Not because of that, but it's just a crazy added bonus to a great live version

Great you did this reaction. Great songs. There are a Stone Sour live recording where it's Curtain Fall and Corey Taylor shows up in women's underwear and sings Mission Statement from the Audio Secrecy album. Quite hilarious. Just search Stone Sour Curtain Fall Mission Statement
The reason bands do things like hide an M&M clause in the contract is to make sure the promoter reads it. If they have that weird clause and the band or managemnt walks in and notices the error it likely means the rider wasn't read thoroughly and there could be safety issues. Also, I heard they did this because they had previously been booked somewhere where they promoter of another band didn't pay attention to the tech specs of the venue which caused a lot of problems and damages resulting in the need to cancel their show at whatever venue it was. Essentially shit was too heavy and went through the floor of the venue and the venue couldn't be fixed before their show came to town
