Teachers aren’t movie stars. They’re not billionaire oligarchs and certainly not zillionaire athletes. But the effect that just one can have on the future is more than all the others put together.

My highschool had the same policy. There were several instances of teachers giving their shoes to students so they'd be able to walk graduation

I had an ancient history professor in college who wrote the textbook used in one of the classes. He told us if we wanted to be a suck up to go ahead and buy it, but that he would tell us what we needed to know, so it wasn't necessary. He taught every class off the top of his head with no notes or references, and he always left us hanging with a minor "cliff hanger" so we would want to come back to class. First day of class he said the safest thing to call our instructors was professor because if we said "Mister/Miss" the Phds would be insulted and if we called them all "Doctor" the non-doctors would think we were a55 kissers. He added the ladies could call him Wade Baby, or Dr Hunk. He gave every class a Legion number in case he ever decided to take over the world he would call up his legions to fight. He was one of the most popular professors in the university. Never took himself too seriously like some did. I had a Statics professor in the Engineering department who didn't like students asking for help. It was 40 years ago and I still remember what he said. "I don't understand you kids. When I was in school I couldn't wait for the professor to shut up so I could go back to my dorm and work on the problems assigned." He flunked so many and told us the first day that if we dropped, or failed the class "do not sign up for my class again, take the class under another instructor." Then there was the math professor who smeared the penciled in grades with his finger and your final grade was based on his opinion of you and the work you did, not your scores.

And then my math teacher, when we got graduated and asked her "Will you miss us?" She answered "well, I mean, I got many students so..."
My students ask me that often. I teach seniors. I always tell them I’ll miss them, but I’m happy they are moving on to the next phase of their lives. They come to high school with the purpose of leaving, and I’m excited for them to move on. I’m sorry your teacher didn’t express very well the connection a teacher has with students
When I was being relentlessly bullied in elementary school to the point that I developed bipolar depression and still to this day have PTSD about it, not a whole lot of the other teachers really did anything. Except one. He was a no-nonsense teacher who I never got the honor of having a class with. All the kids were scared of him... except me, because he treated me like his own daughter. One time a kid was harassing me in the recess line and this amazing teacher literally yanked the kid out of line and started chewing him out, loudly, in front of the whole class, even though he wasn't even our teacher he just happened to walk by and see it and he intervened when no one else would. He was my hero, and I hope that wherever you are Mr. Petite, you're doing well and just know that Sam still admires you!
The one about the nb (non binary) student and the whole ya boi thing made me super happy because everyone deserves a teacher that actually asks and makes you feel welcome in a classroom space. Affirmation is incredibly important to well-being and to helping get work done, kids can’t work if they’re being invalidated, I know that from personal experience I had a teacher who did not treat me well because of who I am and so I ended up just skipping his class until he got out on leave when i and others spoke out.
Reminder that people don’t choose their gender it is something they were born as, our brain differs from our body, this is how trans works. We don’t wake up one day and choose our gender. If I was forced to be seen as my birth gender any more I would be dead :)

What I mean is that you cannot control that you feel most aligned with a specific gender, but whether or not you choose to go by that gender's pronouns is your choice. And besides, do you really think that everyone should just leap out of the womb as a boy or girl or intersex baby and just accept who they are? like no their birth gender is out of their control; they cannot choose it, hence every reason to question it. whether or not you align with that gender is not your choice. And transgenderism is mostly caused by biological structures present at birth, so do you really think you can control that? no you cant. As a masc non-binary who was assigned female at birth, just stfu okay 💀
@@Meerkat2112 not sure what exactly you are implying, but i'll still explain: gender is a social construct, you label yourself depending on what you feel. I do not have too much knowledge in that field. But although you cannot choose your gender, you CAN choose what you want to label yourself as (usually man, woman or non binary) and your pronouns of preference. Sorry if I'm mistaken about anything

3:50 An update: when this got on the news in Mexico and on the Spanish channels in the US, people raised money to help create a portable classroom in a small moving truck. She was so surprised when the people who made it happen dropped it at her house...which came with all the supplies she needed for her students and that the classroom can seat up to 4 students.
Where education is the key to the future, people will think WAY out of the box to make it happen.

Kinda long but hear me out.
There was this one time in college when I almost got expelled due to an offense. At the time even before the incident happenned, my mental health was at it’s worst. I’m suicidal, I had some quarrel with my friends, I can’t meet my requirements on time, my family can barely make ends meet and I was away from them,I was a whole mess. There’s this one professor who was always strict but very caring to her students and she always showed her trust in me. She always believed in my capabilities. Before the professors’ pass a final verdict on what punishment I will get for my offense, she called me to her room after she talked to some of my friends who also got involved in an incident.
After they went out, she closed the door and started crying and asked “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME THAT YOU’RE GOING THROUGH THIS?” YOU COULD’VE MESSAGED ME AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YOU.” I lost all my emotions prior to that meeting but I cried like hell after hearing that. I was afraid because I thought I disappointed her but she never showed that. Maybe she was just sad that I forgot that she was always an option to run towards when things got tough. Just to see and hear someone crying that much for you even though you’re not related, My parents didn’t even did that and my mom was actually mad at me for the offense but this professor showed me how much she cares. I will never forget that and she will forever be my most favorite mentor in life. She inspired me to always strive to be better as she said “When you reach rock bottom, there’s no way but up.” And man did that stick through me.

3:37 I can confirm this is true, when I was in kindergarten and it was graduation day I won a big pack of markers for being the most artistic person in the class and after that I always checked out the “how to draw” books in the school library, i spent my recess drawing when it rained and I watched how to get better at art youtube videos on my family computer everyday.
I don’t plan on getting an art related job but I’m glad she introduced me to a way to express myself, even if it has gotten me in trouble a few times.
I'm changing schools this month. I've studied here in my current school for the past 13 years. Every corner , every individual of this school is so dear to me. When my teachers heard about me leaving, they were really upset. Our principal came up to me yesterday and told me , " don't forget us " , I smiled and said " never " i didn't really have the ability to say more. Seeing this things make me realise how close I am to adulthood. In two years time I'll be leaving school forever and honestly, if you're a NEET aspirant in India you'd know that class 10 is pretty much the end of your school life. I dunno I'm just incredibly sad. I really don't want to grow up this fast , it's just too overwhelming at times. I wish I could re do the past 2 years , i wish I got to be in school instead of stupid online classes
I had a teacher who once got me Whataburger for lunch. She even got me one of those things where it's an animal or sum and you got to paint it :')

I love when teachers go above and beyond. I've had several that did that, but one that really stood up for me was when I wanted to go to a formal dance, but couldn't afford to buy a fancy dress. So she told me where I could get formal dress material cheaply, then helped me design and make the dress...All from scratch, and no pattern! Later, there was a semi formal dance, so she helped me cut it to tea length, and we changed the sleeves and neckline. She did all the designing and cutting, and I did the sewing. Knowing I was a bit shy, she invited me to model my dress in the school fashion show. I also had two little neighbor girls model the swimsuits I made for them.
Some of these teachers almost made me cry. I had some caring teachers in high school that treated us like their own family because they probably noticed that some students including me needed a safe place. I'm still in contact with some of them today and they're some of the most meaningful friendships I have. I've also been lucky to have some very caring professors in university who treated me like their kid when I was having a very hard time. I will forever hold my little academic family in my heart
Some of these were so wholesome I almost cried. These teachers are amazing. It's wonderful to see people like this positively impacting the lives of those around them. ❤️

I was 15 minutes late for geography because my boyfriend was having a big panic attack (we're in separate groups) so I calmed him down, made sure he's okay and walked him to his class. My teacher was real mad at first, but I explained everything to her during the break and said that it's okay :D

Most stories here are wholesome. But I’m sceptical about the ones about teachers who are teaching from their hospital bed. It’s probably not cause they want to. I’m assuming they’re from the U.S. and have to teach or they won’t get paid, let alone be able to pay for their hospital bills 😔

@@ElmKyh atleast your school allows you to bring stuff, in my school one of my friends bought cake on her birthday for the entire class and our teacher, she is now expelled for that. Like bro what??? for bringing cake, on YOUR BIRTHDAY, and on top of all of it SHE GOT EXPELLED ON HER BIRTHDAY. She didnt even know it wasnt allowed till after she got expelled and not even suspended.

And btw while my school does let us bring any kind of food, what I meant was food for special events IN the school, like our last school year days or christmas (we could bring cake for bdays too I think).

My upper-level economics professor used a class survey to illustrate a key concept for us- would you rather have coffee in three weeks or coffee and donuts last day of class. And behold, the mad lad actually brought us coffee and donuts on the last day of class.
I also emailed him one time asking if I could leave class five minutes early to get to an exam on the other side of campus, and his response was "Nah, just skip class so you can use the time to study. Good luck on your test!". And that same last day of class, he spontaneously asked me what my post-college plans were, and then invited me down to his office for about 30 minutes of private mentoring on how the machine learning code works when analyzing resumes, how to format the proper resume, which websites to sign up for to find jobs, etc. and gave me a link to a special website he uses that checks your resume for you to make sure it's done right. Even told me if I follow him on LinkedIn he could give me a bunch of contacts from data analysis companies (my dream job.)
This guy really knows how to teach properly.
I really love this stuff about teachers, I want to be a teacher myself and it makes me want to be as good and memorable as them 🤗
Covid closing school brought one good thing. Showed us true heros and who was the amazing teachers, who were willing to do anything to help student do great and showed what teachers dont care and just going though motions. My senoir year of high school i had few teachers that wouldnt even do zoom class and just gave us homework to do that was super easy not even test sometimes. Then had teachers who held zoom meeting everday and would hold extra zoom meeting after school for help and stayed on after class was over for any last questions.
4:40 Ok, but the male teachers who wore skirts to school after one of their students got expelled over it have gained my respect. The school was just, UGH I CAN'T DESCRIBE MY HATRED IN WORDS- but if I was the student who got expelled for something so stupid I'd be really proud of the teachers.
My favorite teacher will always remain my fifth grade teacher. She was great. While all the other teachers were telling their kids to be serious because we were going into middle school next year, our teacher did weekly story times where we sat on the carpet and she either talked with us or read a book of our choosing. She’s a huge bookworm, so I got her this book that I really liked and she liked it so much she introduced the book to the class and because she did that a lot of other kids got the book and started talking to me about it (I didn’t have a lot of friends back then). She always came to class with her hair dyed and a funky graphic shirt with some cute pun or a comic. When the colors in her hair faded, she’d ask us what color we wanted it and she’d get it. She also had this awesome bottle that read as “student’s tears”. I remember I liked her so much that I invited her to one of my plays and she actually showed up with a bouquet for me and her son who said he really enjoyed the show. She was also my first introduction to the LGBTQ community during one of our story times because she told us about her friend who was both a “Juan” and a “Maria”. Most of us were confused because none of us understood the concept of transgender, much less genderfluid. But she explained it to us and answered all our questions and encouraged us to learn more which prompted some kids to admit certain things they used to think were weird about them (boys liking skirts and makeup or kids crushing on the same gender) and now knew was perfectly normal. She also had this snack cabinet for recess for kids who didn’t bring snacks. It technically was against the rules as we weren’t supposed to have food in class, but she did it anyways because she kept seeing kids go to recess without snack and sometimes even lunch. She looked out for all of us like her own children and still keeps in contact with her students years after they graduated and will visit them for occasions. It’s awesome, she’s awesome, and it would take a miracle for any other teacher to top her.

I am straight and God fearing but if I had kids and one of them came out to me, I couldn't imagine cutting ties with my kids for any reason, especially for something that couldn't have been easy for them to tell me to begin with. Even though it might not be for me and I might not fully understand or completely agree with it, I can only imagine how hard it must be for someone to struggle with homosexuality or with telling their family. I couldn't imagine my kid finding the courage to tell me only to have me disown then and leave them alone, especially on the holidays. That is a crappy parent regardless of their religion imo. If you are a parent that has cut ties with your kids for this reason, smarten up. Get over yourself. It's not about you so stop acting like it is. Go pick up the phone and make it right whether you are okay with their choices or not. Life is short. You or your kid could be gone from this world tomorrow so stop wasting time. Have a relationship with them while you still can.
One of my professors maintained the tradition of addressing the student with the lowest current grade as "Dum Bass." He only suspended the tradition if everyone maintained a B or above.

Sounds like a pretty terrible professor to a) regularly insult a student and b) do it in a way that lets the rest of the class know who is doing the worst academically.

But seriously though, this has very bad effects;
1)Constantly insult the student
2)Without saying directly, reveal their academic score.
3) prone them to receive even more insults and get belittled by their peers.
4)Demotivate them and discourage them.
5)Be exceptionally toxic
6) Have an unhealthy relationship with their students.
Although for 1),2),5) and 6) I haven’t written the effects. This is because that will be too long.
Anyway, this was a great way of your teacher to belittle and discourage students.

A person I know went to a good college. There was a teacher who asked the class their preferred pronouns. When it was his turn, he said "your majesty". For the rest of the year, his professor Called him your majesty.
My old PE teacher in school was always lenient with my health problems, due to having a scar prohibiting any contact sports and weaker muscles. Every time there was a contact lesson, I would be taken in to the fitness suite to either use the treadmills or the exercise bike while the others were doing the main exercises.
His support helped me break out of my shell, and gave me the courage to try out new things which I wouldn't have done before then, even setting myself an exercise regime which I still follow about 6 years after leaving school. Even now that i've left education, he has still remained a confidant who I have been able to rely on due to how much I changed from his lessons
proper education is important for society to move forward, and many teachers are the unsung heroes.
My 9th grade class teacher and social studies teacher was really cool , we were the most troublesome class at that time and every 5-7 days we were present at the principal's office that even principal was sick of us but after 10th grade many students left school and some stayed , I'm one of them who stayed and now we are passing our 12 in few days so she texted in our 9th class group chat which some of us still had , that she loves us and she gonna miss us despite the troubles we made for her ,, she made us all cry that day with her, she is such a lovely teacher 🥺
As a rule, I hate Teachers, they made my life miserable and I can honestly say I only remember one Teachers name, the only good Teacher I had, but perhaps I was just unlucky. By the way, I went back to High School aged 26, I now have 2 graduate degrees, 2 Masters and a PhD.

I've had a mixed bag for teachers. I've had some really nice ones, like my 6th grade math and english teachers (those two were amazing, but one of them switched to a different school, while the other was fired, alongside my other favorite teacher)
for my worst teachers? lol, Second grade teacher basically taught us absolutely nothing and actually tried to scare the students several times. and fourth/fifth grade teacher? had that one for 2 years! She tried to force me to hold a pencil the way she thinks is "correct" just because I hold my pencils slightly differently (NOT EVEN NOTICABLE IF I DIDN'T MENTION IT), due to the fact that I have loose ligaments and am double jointed in my fingers, the way I hold pencils is the easiest way for me to hold them without killing the paper.

Maybe if more people spent time doing similar things like these teachers, instead of complaining that not everyone has the same opinion, this would be a happier nation.
I had a history teacher in freshmen year of high school who set up a really fun activity. We were learning about the Silk Road at the time, so our class got divided into groups and were setup at different ends of the classroom, forming a “trade route”. Then we were given different materials based on where we were on the route, and we had to trade with other groups to gain wealth, whilst not running out of food (she subtracted one food every 3-5ish minutes form each group). One of the most fun things I’ve done in school. That same teacher was also super nice and gave us monthly mental health checkers to see how we were and to help any students who needed it. I also had a math teacher in high school who taught us concepts through games. I was taking geometry, and when we were learning about transversals, she created a “dance dance transversal” game to get students engaged and help us memorize transversal information. Shoutout to all the creative teachers out there!!!

Just to give you an idea of what some of my teachers meant to me, I'm an aspiring author. My fictional world has two rival magic universities. Each University is named after two of my favorite teachers

I love that! I've based characters in my stories on my favourite teachers. My mentor at uni reminded me of a wise but slightly confused wizard and I'm definitely planning to put him in a fantasy story with a wise wizard guide.
4:07 my old French teacher had a couple of small whiteboards on the wall. Each one would have the classes name on it
And every time someone would either need to go to the Toilet or had forgoten there pen/book if they asked for a replacement for the day or asked to go to the toilet in French she’d put a tally mark on the whiteboard for that class
If the class ended up getting 100 by the end of the year she’d buy us cake.
It was fun to joke about with friends cause we say stuff like if we all purposely leave stuff behind for one day then we’d get at least 25 tally marks
We’d never actually do it but the teacher thought it was funny to see all her students joke about like that despite some of them not being close friends
My maths teacher know how uncomfortable I feel when surrounded by a lot of kids and prefer sitting on my own in class so whenever he has to change the seating plan he always either gives me my own desk(we have desks for 2 per table) or puts me on the end of a long desk(a couple of tables out together) I’m glad he does that
I'm ... high-key... considering to change my career path to becoming a teacher. We need more amazing and kind teachers in this hard world... and I want to be that for people... Moreso then I want to become a forensic pathologist.
I had a math teacher who never laughed. He only laughed 3 times the entire year. One time was over a grape, the other was over a pencil, and the third time he saw my face mind u I wasn’t making a weird face. This same teacher would throw pencils and other things at us. He was everybody’s favorite teacher and he never understood why because he hated us so much.
They're so sweet. Lucky students got such amazing teachers.

8:00 imagine having your door closed, but then someone knocks on the door, BUT THEN HE SAYS IT'S A DOG
I was in Standard 6 (Grade 8) at the school I was at and having trouble remembering stuff. Then I read something in a book and thought 'I'll try this!' So I did, on the next history test we had, and I got 19.5 out of twenty for a test. The teacher - a nun, Sister Joseph, called me out over it, insulted and belittled me over it and then made me leave the class and go abd report to the headmistress because I clearly had not been trying before. The headmistress humiliated and demeaned and belittled me in front of a visiting parent. You can guess how the rest of my school history marks went...
Last one really got me thinking, that actually works, roughly 7 hours of free time, 8 hours devoted to learning, and 9 hours of sleep in a day. Huh, probably seems simple but I never thought much about it I guess.
(Also have a wonderful day, night, and time in general!)

another thing happened last week, i had a very bad headache during english class, so my teacher told the class"With all the noise y'all make, her headache won't go away!" and when another student tried to say he had a headache, my teacher told him shut up and do his work, were as he told my to put my head on the desk😂😂😂 then he asked the boys to go bring his laptop bag, a packet of rascals(sweets similar to skittles, if you dont know)
to him from his class, the boys came back, and he started eating the rascals! Now i sit infront of him, so, when i look up, hiss face is the first thing i see. i told him he was very mean because he was eating everyones favourite sweet infront of them. he gave me the packet to take out some to eat. i'll never forget that day, because i was going through a tough time with my bestfriend, and i think he knew something was wrong.

When I think of future jobs, I try to think of multiple options, but I always come back to teacher. I wanna be like these awesome ones, a role model. And I love kids. A lot of people say that they hate kids and that teachers are underpaid, so I don't know if I should stop thinking about it.
Never. If you love kids and want to be a good role model, a teaching career is a good place to start. It's not the only way to achieve those goals, but it's most definitely a worthwhile one. Yes, teachers are underpaid and overworked, but the good ones retain their passion for *helping kids* through all the difficulties. Many of my family are teachers (some retired), and they all have stories about their experiences that show how fulfilling teaching can be.

Teachers : Un acknowledged HEROS. GOD bless them and all that they try to do. It’s a crime what we’ve put them through. And I’m talking about REAL teachers, not the indoctrinated fools who are grooming and doing whatever they can to AVOID teaching our children life skills
The title is “When students realize they have absolutely awesome teachers” but there are multiple ones about teachers still teaching during a fire alarm. I personally would hate that teacher, you’d think we’d get a break during a literal emergency. School sucks.
The rest of the teacher do actually seem pretty awesome though
When teachers skip teaching part of a lesson, you get less knowledge for the cost of your tuition. As someone who had to take out student loans to get through college, I really appreciate those teachers that make sure I get my money’s worth!!
@@Starstreaka Maybe for collage that’s fair because you choose what you want to learn and hang to pay for it. Although I’m in high school, and I have no choice in the classes I have to take and most of it is pointless. So I hate it when teachers are so obsessed with their stupid classes that they’d teach during a literal emergency. For example I am never going to need algebra, I want to be an author not a rocket scientist.
Fire alarms are quite frequent in some high schools so those students could lose a lot of class time. And there might be a statewide or province-wide final exam so they really can’t afford the lost education time

Can't believe they won't let that young man graduate just because he didn't have 'proper dress code shoes'!! That was insane!! It shows what the education system has became like. Money making, Egoistic, and just extremely energy consuming. If not for these kind of teachers, the students will definitely go insane completely!
