I just had a childhood memory here. I know I watched this after waking up on a Saturday morning almost 20 years ago. All these years later not only did I do the same.... I just ordered a new tool from Eastwood haha
This reminds me of a story I heard many years ago. An acquaintance of the family back in the 80's had recently bought a new Chevy pickup with the new at that time 4 speed automatic. While on a trip spots an old Dodge truck by a barn out in the middle of nowhere. On his way home stopped and talked the owners out of that old Dodge. When he went to get the truck, on the way home with it blew the trans in the new Chevy. Made it to a little podunk town where it would take sometime to get the Chevy fixed. Turned out the local NAPA store had everything to fix that old Dodge! So a couple days work and the help of a local garage gets this old Dodge together enough to get the Chevy home. As I understand it he made a point of dragging the new Chevy back to the dealer with the Dodge, causing quite a stir!
All great but with missing sheet metal at a 3/4" depth, I suspect original was wood plank? Make the replacement with a table saw and band saw, encapsulate in epoxy and it will last longer than the sheet metal. This job is 10X time needed. It's good you have a customer ready to pay.
well Trucks! debut back in 1999 on Powerblock. Powerblock was four 30 min automotive shows that aired on the Nashville Network or TNN for short. The other shows on the Powerblock were Hod Rod/Horsepower TV, Muscle Car and Xtreme 4x4. Today powerblock is now known as the Power Nation and its no longer on the TNN since over the years the cable tv network has changed names and the old TNN cable channel is now known as The Paramount Network. Powernation is now on the NBC Sports Network and CBS Sports Network
Would absolutely LOVE to have one of those old WWII rigs but not enough years left to enjoy one.....so I dream. Would love to see this old workhorse restored to it's former glory, including the original seats but it looks like it's going to get destroyed if those tires are any indication of it's sad fate. And once again a piece of history dies because it isn't appreciated. Yes, I am old school. As intact as that truck is it should not be destroyed but restored. There are plenty of Toyotas and other modern garbage that would be better suited for that fate.
Sgt Rock has been built for a few years. Check the local show circuits. I'm thinking, they're just releasing the old vids to UA-cam. The end result of this build is different, and in my opinion quite nice, albiet vastly different from it's original form. However, iffin you get the chance to see the tailgate, it might sway your opinion. I also believe a Toyota, doesn't have the lineage to be considered for this build.
Shame on you Stacy, welding near a Battery! Big No No. One rogue spark in the right place and you battery turns in a huge grenade. Learned from experience. I at 16 Restored a 1938 Chevy tuck and had the same issue with the floorboard, but I used a piece of marine plywood that fit perfect and was also a sound barrier . I didn't have any access to the nice equipment you use today.
@@nyccollin Battery insulation has nothing to do with it. All Batteries (EVEN AGM) give off Hydrogen gas if it was recently charged or on a charger . Hydrogen is very explosive. Being a Certified Mechanic, I Kind of know about that and the safety reasons for "NOT" welding near any Automotive Battery. I have seen a Battery explode by someone hooking the cables wrong and creating a single spark. Oh and I love your now deleted post calling me a baby. Well my friend, maybe you should research a little more on subjects before you lash out and show the world your ignorance and possible lack of intelligence.
@@johnderekmitchell1510, in season 1 of Trucks, they took a "brand new" S-10 Cyclone and swapped in a V8. Apparently there was something either with the VIN or the truck itself from Chevy that required the show to crush the truck once it was done. From what I've heard and read elsewhere, Stacey decided at that point that any truck that he would personally own (and therefore able to resell) any truck built by him.
@@prestonlane6253 huh. I did miss that one. There are a lot that I didn't get to see due to my job but I have been watching since it was just Joe and Chuck. That was pre-PowerBlock. I even remember when Danica was the "Host". One of the first Trucks episodes I can remember was the Willys Wagon Stacy built. For some reason I want to say his Dad ended up with it but I could be wrong. That was a BUNCH of years ago. Thanks for the info.
Man Stacey David was and still is my biggest idol, he's such a genuine awesome guy!

10 yr project, two different TV shows...one incredible beast
I saw this (and many of the other episodes) when it originally aired. Absolutely re-watching them!
Stacey David made some of the best trucks episodes ever.......
Please believe me, Sgt. Rock is no piece of junk. I would definitely love to own such a piece of history. Beautiful body style!!
You and me both, growing up we had family friends that had them and those things were beasts.
@@coltsfan79 our fire department used to do truck pulls and there was an old power wagon that would compete and it was a beautiful old truck
Very nicely done, Stacey. It's nice to have all the toys and tools you used. I'm working on getting them.
I miss this show 😢😢
This was back when Stacey actually did some work and didn't act quite as silly. He's still good but sometimes annoying. Thanks for the flashbacks.
Could not agree with you more.
Back in the day, I was watching tv my wife said “you watching that guy that is always laughing 😂
never noticed until now.
Stacy having a fun time getting rid of the shit ridden seat out of that truck.
This has been an excellent teaching video for me. It has taught me a lot, in the short time. Thank you.
I hope you’ll put the Crazy Horse and Copper Head projects up .
Copperhead is up.
Just saw it
The Wicked Willis is another one I'd like to see.
Shame he sold Copperhead. But he recently bought it back.
The original floor was 3/4” plywood. With a steel cover for 6volt battery box under drivers feet
Love your work. Thanks
Very impressive craftsmanship. I love this 1941 Dodge Army, since I’m a Army Veteran.

Of course it looks easy when you have all of those tools. How many do-it-yourself guys in their own garages have all of the tools he used?
Stacey, Thanks for all your teaching knowledge!!! appreciate it the info
If Stacey was building this today, you know it would have a warmed over, 1000+ HP Hellcat motor in it.
Hoping they will upload more of these.
You got skills BRO,awesome job brother
The old seat is like if you did a really bad thing and you suddenly have a body to get rid of
Nice work
Boy that was an oldie, I haven't seen that one in quite a while!
I would have just thrown a sheet of diamond plate on that floor and called it a day
Yep. Tar around the edges.
This show was great, so was the other show he did. I think it was called Gearz with Stacy David.
Dan Bogardo He still does Gearz
Wow that whole thing was to just sell you around $100k in tools
Nice
Hmmm. Starting to question his work ethic. 4 breaks in 19 minutes? 😄😄😄
Probably UAW union trained, huh?
@Bill P good job,mongoloid 👍
It's beautiful
What was the green Willys project he did way back when. It's in the intro. Like 0:02
I believe it's wicked willys
How old is the Show.... and is These a tv series...??? Sorry i'm from Germany and i never See something like this in our tv Programms....

Going to fuck it up
Rare truck

The chances are nobody can afford those tools unless you own a shop
Whatever you do please keep the good old Dodge Flathead 6 in there!
this show is over 15 years old. it has an 800hp 440 in it since like 2012.

just plug it like stacys hair do
