@@pustak7202 I think it deserves better too! But to be fair, the odds don't mean that they'll finish in 33rd place. It just means that they're the 33rd most likely to get 1st place. Essentially, it only means they're unlikely to win, it doesn't mean that they'll do bad overall.

As an artist, I need to say that this is pure art and probably one of the best entries this year.

The problem isn't the song, it's very good song but the staging very similar to national final and that's not interesting.

Latvia is in my top 5, maybe top 3. This is the kind of music we listened to in the 90's - 2000's. Alternative indie music was big back then and this song is beautiful! I'm so sad it's in semi 1, it probably won't qualify. Not because it's a bad song (it's one of the best!). But because the hype for almost all the other songs in semi 1 might be too much to overcome. For me, this song perfectly encapsulates how the world is right now. We’re trying to find any type of comfort to save us from chaos. I’m rooting for Latvia from the U.S. and I really hope that this song qualifies to the finals. ❤️

Normal. We see this every year and with several songs. That's how Eurovision Freak Show is. And this year, without jury in the semifinals, it will be even worse.

not necessarily… with the international, Rest Of The World voting, we may see some acts get a few extra points, even if they are a bit niche, and that may make a crucial difference.
Though I will readily concede that because of linguistic and cultural blocs, Portugal (which, going by immigration alone, has a few million nationals outside of the EU), Ireland and Australia will be the greatest beneficiaries in the semifinals, and Spain, the UK and, to some extent, France and Italy will pick it up in the grand final as well (don’t forget some huge countries and sets of countries, like Brazil and the rest of Latin America, the US - where a lot of people like to identify as “Something-American” according to their heritage -, Canada…).
This is a masterpiece. It is creative (it combines rock and ballad, we dont have anything like that this year), unique, good vocals, lyrics meaning is so deep and perfect, melody is catchy and great. Its so underrated, I hope it makes to final. We need it.

This song is far above the level of the Eurovision. Having it on repeat on my Spotify, like this is what I casually listen to and I didn't expect to hear anything like this on ESC

When I first heard this song, I was surprised by the usage of 5/4, as it is quite rare and hard to incorporate in a well sounding way, but this song is so unique and the melodies and lyrics flow so well, it really just adds onto the song! Brave of Latvia to bring us a certified Indie/Post-Rock banger set to a quirky choreography in a liminal space.
This kind of act and song doesn’t indeed “belong” in the Eurovision, but in a good way, and if I had my way, this kind of stuff should either be the norm, or at least be much more common at the ESC (at home, in our own national selection, the FdC, we had, say, You Can’t Win Charlie Brown, SAL or Esse Povo, which could very well play in the same summer festival as these guys, but went for the safer - if also insanely good and dignified - choice instead, so there’s that).
I hope that even if it’s a NQ (undeservedly, if I may add), at least they get proper exposure and a career boost. Congrats and good luck from Portugal!
