when i follow Eurovision, this is the type of art i want to see, UNCONVENTIONALITY, rather than mainstream music you could hear every day only by turning on the radio. GO FOR THE TROPHY CROATIA, the message and the way they transmit it is absolutely worthy enough. i'm touched.

@@margrg21 Well, in german we have the term "Bombenstimmung" (literally bomb mood) for when you're in a really great mood, so I can see how this works out.
I honestly don't know if there are similar terms for this in other languages (edit: I mean, I guess "the bomb" is used for sth positive in english as well, so that's probably similar, but not entirely the same as it's not entirely about mood which perfectly fits what Janne Rissanen was saying imho.)

What makes it even funnier is that this specific phrase means the same thing in Croatian, Ukrainian and russian. I REALLY like this kind of messaging, reminds me of Mel Brooks making fun of Hitler in the Producers or To Be or Not to Be, also Taika Waititi in Jojo Rabbit and Charlie Chaplin in the Great Dictator. Don't empower tyrants by showing them as scary. They WANT that. Show them as ridiculous and pathetic. Ridicule is the only thing they're worth.

i'll be honest, i saw them as a casual viewer for the first time in the finale and i actually hated it. I couldn't hear or understand anything, and the recording sounded very messy. Im glad that i took a moment to watch the music video, now that i can actually understand what's going on it's really great. Yeah, I thought it deserved to do better. 13th place isn't terrible, and if I'm honest the lead guy's vocals in the performance were a little weak so that might not help anything. But personally this song was in my top 5 this year. It's unique, catchy, the theatrics are silly but it makes a point at the same time. I think it's pretty great.
