I’ve been saying this for a long time, I don’t feel like Gege is just gonna waste Megumi instead of using his grief to turn “evil”. Especially after foreshadowing Megumi to be some type of powerhouse.
Last week I read a comment by a fan that went "Megumi's potential was a way to foreshadow Sukuna taking over". By this, I think he meant that his potential was established for Sukuna to display it.
I agree but the thing is most of Megumis Shikigami are gone after the Gojo fight. The only ones he still has are Demon Dog, the Frogs, Rabbit escape, Max Elephant and that Bull which was shown against Yorozu.
It can be both. Megumi can cause this and have a return to his mindset, sacrificing himself to stop the merger he triggered after being out back in control. He doesn't wanna come back, and all the shit that's happened, it really does feel like it has to be him

@@zavyg9948 I'm not exactly sure what you mean so i'll just clarify. Todo doesn't have any known siblings and the guy who put Nobara into stasis is the younger brother of the woman who got stabbed in the ass by Haruta in Shibuya (the miracle curse user who uses a sword with a hand for a handle).
In the original scans for the chapter that Nitta was introduced there was a translation error that introduced Nitta as Todo's brother. It has been fixed and wasn't touched upon in the anime because they aren't related. This guy is covering manga and has been for a while, I assume he just misremembered.

Fuck a domain, those are boomer techniques. Imagine Megumi’s shadows are a whole ass pocket dimension like Kamui where all the rules of his domain apply. Even if he has to subjugate Mahoraga all over again, he could one shot him in his shadows.
Personal theory. Yuji has a domain, BENEVOLENT SHRINE. Makes sense to be the antithesis of sukunas. Since his soul is copying techniques and abilities. The shine actually allows the souls of his friends or fallen sorcerers to commune and fight in that space. Only their souls. This plays out a fan service to get gojo, nobura, hell basically everyone to fight back. This is how sukuna is taken out. Butttt. Then megumi does all the shit to do merger anyway due to the terrible things. Yuji does fight back and ends up being able to heal the soul with punches instead of damaging it. Helping to save megumi and bring him out of the dark. Yuji dies in the final moments With megumi as well. But is surrounded by all his friends souls and megumis soul. All smiling and heading north together
That way everyone dies but its still a good ending for Gege😅

If Megumi does end up being the final boss that would be a perfect setup. Six eyes with limitless is the strongest technique in jjk. Only thing that's on par is the 10 shadow according to what's been stated. If in the end we have a Megumi who has fully realized his technique and Yuji who defeats him then it would mean Yuji finally surpassed Gojo.
This would also not ruin Sekuna's rep as the strongest since he would of been killed by the gang of fights he had to go through

I was thinking black flash yuji goes nuts and is doing well neutering Sukuna but unfortunately Sukuna uses Miguel's capoiera to dodge Yujis attacks. He eventually powers up gets his arms back and starts hitting black flashes with the multiple arms. Sukuna hits full power but Megumis mind is healed and he decides to step in and save Yuji. Using max power sukuna and the info from Sukunas battle with Gojo plus infinite info he masters Chimera garden and uses it to fuse with all the shikigami. Megumi splits with Sukuna with Sukuna using the tengen embryo as a new body. We get DemonMegumi, Yuji(who I think is the triplet that Sukuna didn't devour) and Yuta with 6 eyes inherited because Gojo gives it to him after an airport run in.
But you might be right if we go dark...

I do think it is a possibility that three important sorcerers get turned into a cursed puppet like panda, which could be yuji after dying after the merger, megumi who is broken and nobara who is broken, and perhaps if he takes them into him as a puppet he can help heal their souls as they will be a part of him and he will have rct and can see the soul. Could be a different 3 sorcerers, but I think it could be very unique to have Yuji die for all of japan and choose to continue as a cursed puppet that hangs out with new buddha tengen gojo and heals his friends

we must not forget that at some point, Gege said in an interview that "either one person would die or everyone would - except for one" and we have already lost many so signs pointing to a not so happy ending.
That was regarding the main 4 characters iirc (Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, and Gojo). Currently Gojo is dead (barring any ridiculous revival twist), Nobara is either offscreen dead or in a coma or something, Megumi is possessed by Sukuna still, and Yuji is still fighting. With the factors we have in play, any combination of 3 characters living, or any solo character living are possible. Though I'd say Gojo surviving is the least likely thing, despite people insisting he'll have his 2nd revival like Buddha (personally I think him being unsealed represented the 2nd revival and he really is dead for good now)

When the worst case scenario takes place then time travel tends to popup as the solution. Time travel may already be taking place which is how they cheated with training. It would be wild to have timetravel, the gojo fight starts all over again and this time Yuji is helping gojo knowing whats coming.

There is one thing about the merger I think needs to be addressed. One of the motivations discussed earlier was that it could be used to make everyone a sorcerer. This is interesting because there tend to be two kinds of stories, in regards to universes like jjk. You have stories that end definitively by dissolving the systems that created the conflict, and you have stories that are open ended and allow for sequels by persisting those systems.
As such I think the question needs too be asked, will jjk end with the end of jujutsu or with the end of an Era and the beginning of a new wave of sorcery?

I think it’s more likely that sakuna activated the merger because it’s his main goal in life and i dont see megumi being able to fight supertengenyuji. that’s where sakuna’s gonna bring out his true ct and go all out i need to see this.
If Megumi turns evil then he was the weakest character in JJK, mind and body wise. Megumi isn't the only person that's been faced with countless tragedies since the beginning of the culling games or even the start of the series. Yuji and Maki are two of the characters that have faced as much or more than Megumi and they're still fighting, so if Megumi turns evil it will be just to extend the series and sell more copies. Also I will straight up drop this lol.

I think in case of Higuruma and Yuta, she just has to heal them to the point that their own RCT kicks in. Likely doesn't have to heal them all the way. Unlike in the case with Kusabake, Todo, Nobara etc.

I have a theory about Yuji's potential domain expansion I wanted to share :
Okay so this is what sparked this theory in my head :

I kept it spoiler free, you're good if you're up to date with the second season.
At 0:44 the camera goes into sukuna's mouth (on yuji's body) into what kinda looks like a domain expansion to me.
A giant space full of papers (or panels/pictures?) Forming the floor and walls and even hand signs, let's keep that there for a sec.
We know that Yuji is :
1- Someone who cares deeply about the people around him
2- Way stronger when he fights alongside one of his friends/senseis (jumping kaisen)
3- May or may not have the ability to create false memories (as seen with Todo and Choso), probably related to his soul ability
Now imagine that domain is yuji's domain, and those papers flying around are memories of him and his friends, in this domain he would pick up a random memory (not unlike a certain someone's domain), let's say megumi as an example, and either (in order of the most likely to least likely):
1- Invoke the megumi into the domain or a paper clone
2- apply one of megumi's cursed techniques to the opponent through the picture (slapping it on him or whatever)
3- Swallows the memory and be able to use megumi's cursed techniques
For this not to be overpowered there probably should be restrictions and prior requirements for a memory to show up.
The restrictions could be that the clone can only use a technique once and/or at random (same for 2), and for the 3 (swallowing the memory) only be able to use the techniques for a short amount of time or one technique only.
As for the prior requirements, I guess it could be something like having a genuine bond with the person and enough knowledge of their cursed techniques, having fought alongside them before or something similar.

There's a Dharma wheel, and an Adharma wheel also so I think a reverse mahoraga can technically exist. Sukuna, as a reverse Mahoraga Shikigami with the ability to weaken you instead of adapting would be not only crazy but a great foil to Yujis soul punches that also weaken you
I think the ability of merger was transferred to Megumi because its a part of the culling games and Sukuna isn't registered as a player but Megumi is why us why the only way of doing it was through Megumi.

I think Megumi after returning might have an unbound domain since he'll have domain knowledge from sukuna and his own domain never had a barrier to begin with. So we might see an open Chimera shadow Garden.

Yeh this has been my belief too. Megumi has the right personality and has gone through too much right before Sukuna pulled Grand Theft Me on him not to be potentially the real one Kenjaku was referring to when he said his Will shall pass on. Not only Kenjaku but in a way Geto. I think Megumi either will not have any of his Ten Shadows returned that were destroyed in the Gojo fight but thanks to Totality, and that Divine Dogs were suspiciously never put in during that fight, he'll have a Divine Dog that basically is rocking Mahoraga's whole thing, basically giving him a tamed Mahoraga since the dogs by default were always loyal and never needed to be tamed, and totality being his main partner in most fights anyway.
That or he somehow does just...get them all back but I think that's lame since it was still his body and CT even if Sukuna was the one in control. It'd be a surprisingly Un-Gege like asspull or status quo return. It's gonna be MahoDog, but with all the other powers too so it's stacked up and escalated beyond Sukuna using TS.
This would be such a clever subversion of expectations and a fitting way to end jjk imo. Also, the merger is definitely going to happen lol. So much battle animanga properties that have had extremely similar plot points (naruto, evangelion, Full Metal) basically end the same way just for it to be reversed somehow once it’s done. In truth it’s the most engaging way to story-write and reaches peak suspense for the reader.
I think what’s hard for people to conceptualise it happening is the how it would be resolved. Honestly, I feel like the merger, being transcended beyond any curse spirit or entity in the series, and probably possessing some degree of infinite intelligence hence the correlation between curse spirit intelligence and strength, would probably leave some type of grand resolution for the story and for the resolution of Megumi’s character arc in some way. It also would be easy for Gege to give a being like that some kind of fate warping curse technique as well to undo everything. This would almost perfectly mirror Evangelion. Just spitballing here

Maybe Megumi and Sukuna have an arrangement where Sukuna is in control. He even looks like himself but it's still Megumis body. Therefore, Kenjaku knew that he had to give Megumi the ability so Sukuna could use it, kind of how Sukuna got to use his Ten Shadows Technique. Kind of like Borushiki but he looks like Momoshiki in that form. Maybe I could have left out that last part lol.

I have a pretty crazy idea i just thought of. What if yuji somehow manages bring megumi back to the light, and we find out that the "missing finger" actually wasnt with gojo at all and yuta didn't eat it but got cleave from his blood or hand and when asking about it he wasnt taunting him but actually hinting something else. What if whenever sukuna swapped to megumi he himself actually left a finger behind in yuji as a last ditch effort and whenever megumi kicks sukuna out we start back at the first fight i the series: megumi vs 1 finger sukuna

There could probably be some sort of binding vow that will have some heavy cost but grant the ability to start the merger without needing *Every single one of the protagonists* dead. If Sukuna is on the verge of losing, that’s what I see happening next.
WE HAVE no clue what shoko curse technique is so for all we know it’s some over powered ability tied to RCT. RCT isn’t a curse technique it’s something any sorcerer has the potential of getting so her actual curse technique might be crazy lol
Shoko doesn’t necessarily need to heal them completely. she might just need to heal them to the point where there RCT can activate and they can heal themselves along with shoko healing.
i think with 120% of her potential she can also make up for the loss in effectiveness for trying to heal someone else. it’s her specialty

I’ve had this theory about kenjaku for a min but basically ken experiments with choso mom and with yuji parents ppl assume it was just normal man woman make baby but since sukuna never had any descendants but irl sukuna could’ve had a twin what if in jjk he also has a brother and Kenny did some reincarnation type thing with him mixed it with yuji parents and that’s why yuji looks like sukuna and is absurdly strong at base level also could explain him having intimate knowledge on the shape of his and sukunas soul since the first chapter being able to control sukuna and there’s literally a ton of brother foreshadowing throughout the series for yuji and sukuna down to how sukuna makes fun of yuji and when he said your from back then. Also it could be like sukuna hated his twin brother because when he looked at him with the same face he only saw a pale reflection of his strength maybe that’s why he has the mask to change his face as he viewed his little brother like a bitch and didn’t want to look like him also in terms of memes it’ll be another adversary stopped by being yuji’s brother and then megumi could be the villain now and kill both of yujis brothers maybe even todo because yuji not being executed led to his sisters death so he wants revenge and then the real final fight would begin ik it’s a long theory with minimal evidence but I like the narrative lmk any thoughts?

Yuuji and Megumi have been tied since rhe beginning wanting to save one or the other. Its a good point the focus has been shifted away from Megumi but it still stands Megumi has a role to yet play based on what Kenjaku left behind
I think the scariest part of this is what if Megumi can not only begin the merger, but what if he completes Chimera Shadow Garden? Merger Monster amplified by Megumi's DE would be wild
The final part of this is that its all a plot by “The Six Eyes” to fool Sukuna into thinking he’s slashing these people but really he’s slashing dreams. Or an alien will burst out of him and be the true final villain?
I can see Megumi coming back broken and seeing the merger as a way to bring back his sister.
If nothing else, Shoko might focus on healing Yuta first. Since aside from herself, Yuta is able to use rct to heal other people and might be able to help her.

I feel like JJK has always hinted that one of my main cast would turn evil eventually. For the longest time I thought Gojo would be the Final Big Bad of the series, especially after he got unsealed. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Megumi because at this point if he doesn’t comeback evil there’s no way he returns alive or reasonably okay

With proper context and translations of the original Japanese source material, there are so many answers to things that the non-Japanese fandom keep incorrectly interpreting and attempting to predict. It's always interesting to see weird, off base predictions completely out of line with things Gege has already explained or implied but got lost in translation.

Ok this was my theory in a comment months ago , I have another one , megumi will be the last bad guy and yuji will knock some sense into him, showing they can be unselfish and powerful and good, to then both sacrifice themselves dying together to remove curse energy from the world using the merging stuff
Here a fun idea, meg gets control of his body back, trapping sukuna. Afterwards all the survivors of the game come together to reassess. At which point meg in his guilt over his sister locates and consumes the final finger, allowing sukuna to take over and start the merger
