Something about these two robbers not saying a word while hes driving is actually really nice. Almost like they respect his rules and his services to drive and they wanted him to focus on just that- with no small talk or banter back and forth. Then they quietly disappear in the crowd. They might be crooks. But atleast they gave the driver the respect and focus he needed to do his job.

@gallicus What's not to like?! Besides, I LOVE it, not "like" it 🤣 Where to start? My 2 all time favourite actors in the same film for only the second time ever (with Robert De Niro being my number one) and the first time onscreen together, damn good director, brilliant acting, great story, amazing score, great cast, brilliant choreography in L.A., the sound, THAT shootout, the tension, the ending with Mobys God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters fading in... what's NOT to love?! It just blows me away every time I watch it.
It was a B&E but there was also shots fired too at the same location. They just didn't show that on this clip. That's how the robbers got into the place they were robbing.
I love comparing this movie and Baby Driver. The stark contrast in two very different wheelmen. There’s absolutely no connection between the movies but it’s so fun.
It is a modern Impala, while not the slowest car not that fast... that was the weirdest part of this scene. I owned one and it was like driving a boat. Not something I would pick for a getaway car BUT it is inconspicuous.
5:13 I wonder how many literally me Jacket he has? He dumped that one and later on in the movie, he's wearing an exact jacket. Or maybe he comes back later to retrieve it
0:35 Assuming he has his lights OFF, No way the cops would have known the type of car from that distance in the dark. If he was smart, he would have been stopped using his parking brake only, not the actual brake pedal, so the brake lights would not have been on.
4:20 He makes so many mistakes it's crazy. But police chopper never activates NIGHT SUN until they have patrol cars already following the subject. There's no point. It only tips them off that they're being followed. And this one patrol car would not chase until he had backup. So this is completely NOT REALISTIC. In 2011 when this movie came out, the Impala didn't even have a V8, the SS was discontinued in 2009, so his car would have to be 2 years old to still have the 5.3L V8 which still only made 303hp which is tiny compared to today's cars. The V6 in 2011 only produced 230hp. It would not make a muscle car noise like that from the exhaust and engine. That's APPALLING!!!!
1:50 I have NO IDEA why he drives with his lights on when he originally left the burglary Made no sense. That's why the cops could tell what car it was. STUPID!
Ah, memories. When I was younger police would be sniffing out my car even when I was just going about my business. They'd light me up and give me the old schtick about there being crime in the area and suspicious vehicles doing laps along the stretch of highway. This is on a random night after getting back from getting art supplies and going around the posted limit. Go above? Citation. Go under? Pulled over and it's a game of 20 Questions. The APB could be 'brown pickup truck with plate number XXX' but there they are getting my bright red Sunfire coupe. After enough of that I made cut-offs for all external lights and sprayed the car matte black. I hardly ever sped on purpose so they just had it out for me. As a result, I ran a few times and don't regret it. Looking back on it, I'm feeling like (UA-cam user) "Swoozy" who has a series called "driving while black" where he'd be pulled for trivial sh!t... only I'm white. >.> Hey, we can appreciate police for doing serious work but a whole lot of them are so freakin' bored they decide to get anyone they see.
If the guys are smart, they'll ditch the ski masks in the car and just walk out with the crowd. Take the bus home. Lay low for a year before making any big purchases.

The most unrealistic thing the LAPD delegating a multi-cruiser sweep and an air asset for a B&E
