@@baldermort To be honest , what if other gifts of Khorne don't effect those people in same way Butcher's Nails do ? Same agony when ever not in combat , maybe perhaps Khorne changes them , so they could practice their craft while not in combat , not need sleep , and most importantly don't drop dead from strain Nails and physical/mental state said nails put those people through , maybe after some time such rage is new normal for them .
Fun fact, most former imperial forces switch to Khorne, for the Imperium also enjoys and revels in destruction for the Emperor, which to some degree, feeds Khorne anyway...oh so close to the human heart...~
World Eaters being my primary army these days I can't wait for this one. I remember back in the day Khorne was the Blood God and skulls and yadda yadda, but he has a sense of honor about it. And Berserkers used to embody it; you had to fight someone who could not only fight back, but could kill you too. It was either in 2nd or 3rd edition there was a little blurb in the Chaos Marine codex about two rival World Eaters lords, one who offered up like a million skulls taken from a hospital world full of sick and injured, and the other offered up a single skull of a Space marine hero who killed his entire warband and only he survived. Guess which one was rewarded and which was was turned into a spawn?

One thing I love throughout the Horus Heresy books is how the disciplined shield-bearing Loyalists (such as the Ultramarines and Iron Hands) look down on and dismiss the XIIth Legion as tactless savages, only for the World Eaters to break through their formation and kill more of the Loyalists in 8 seconds than they killed Traitors in 8 minutes...
If anything that shows of there marital prowess in combat who needs tatics when you are where a freight train of armor and able to tear astartes in half
Remember when Khorne was the god of warriors, brass and honour, not just blood and mindless rage? I member. Remember when Nurgle was a god of enthropy and decay, not just disease and tentacles? I member. Remember when Tzeentch was about change, flame, betrayal and duplicity, not just bird people and glowy magic? I member. Remember when Slaanesh was about perfection, excess and lust, not just sex and rows upon rows of breasts? I memeber. GW had forgotten the nuance and depth in their own IP.

The insane warriors of the blood god, and individuals so in detach from the worries of life that there only fear they spill enough blood on the battlefield. The World Eaters are by the most brutal, vicious, and deranged champions of the Blood God, but the hunger of these berserker is legendary.
Just from Baldemort's voice alone I can imagine the Berserker's foaming at the mouth in pure rage and need. Their veins visibly pulsating on their heads and their eyes twitching in fury.

When it comes to Khrone Bezerkers I like the Black Legion themed ones I think they were called the hounds of Abbadon. But I like the Khrone Bezerker armour with the Black Legion colours and eye of Horus emblem

Like you said these guys and their kin are true Grim-dark as heck. I am an upbeat positive person in general but for some reason I love grim-dark and dystopian settings. Either books or video games it doesnt matter i just can get into them. Excellent as always.

Well. That was intensive. A great entry Baldermort! Brightened a poor day! Berzerkers are definately terrifying. Imagine a massive supersoldier charging your lines. Not only is it an over 9ft tall monstrosity of battle clad in more armour than a light tank running at you at 60kmh, wielding a chainsaw axe with unbreakable monomolecular teeth. It is that but bloodthirsty and immune to pain. And if you know of the mindset that got the monster to that point? Even a comissar might "declare a tactical withdrawal"

Khorne Brezerkers were my 2nd or 3rd 40k army. Boy were they fun to paint! I used a tooth brush to flick and spatter red ink, as tho it were cast off spray from all the chain weapons. Good stuff.
The nails don't just cause pain to the zerker, they also give them a rush for committing great acts violence and death. While causing pain/unease to anyone with the psychic gift.
The best "bezerker" around, in my opinion, is the Son of a Woodsman from a "The Doll" short story. Being a bloodcrazed slaughtermachine is awesome and all. But being able to free yourself from the grasp of Khorne you need to be a true badass :)

Like you said these guys and their kin are true Grim-dark as heck. I am an upbeat positive person in general but for some reason I love grim-dark and dystopian settings. Either books or video games it doesnt matter i just can get into them.

Berzerkers are definately terrifying. Imagine a massive supersoldier charging your lines. Not only is it an over 9ft tall monstrosity of battle clad in more armour than a light tank running at you at 60kmh, wielding a chainsaw axe with unbreakable monomolecular teeth. It is that but bloodthirsty and immune to pain. And if you know of the mindset that got the monster to that point? Even a comissar might "declare a tactical withdrawal"

Khorne Brezerkers were my 2nd or 3rd 40k army. Boy were they fun to paint! I used a tooth brush to flick and spatter red ink, as tho it were cast off spray from all the chain weapons. Good stuff.

The nails don't just cause pain to the zerker, they also give them a rush for committing great acts violence and death. While causing pain/unease to anyone with the psychic gift.

The best "bezerker" around, in my opinion, is the Son of a Woodsman from a "The Doll" short story. Being a bloodcrazed slaughtermachine is awesome and all. But being able to free yourself from the grasp of Khorne you need to be a true badass :)
