Michael Jai White is criminally underrated.
I agree with you 200%
Indeed . He could've been a great Equalizer better than Latifah.
@@wandaj3124 mjn.n.mkmmmmhk.nm hmm ok no uukkk I'm mnj
I'm
He's also really chilled and funny in the podcasts I've seen of him.
@@ATAHUALPA867 wait, you mean Denzel Washington? He's the one who played Equalizer
I'm still baffled how Michael Jai White didn't become a bigger action star. He was physically perfect, and his acting was no worse than Arnold's or JCVD or Stallone
he's not white.
@@u235u235u235 possibly, but we accepted Jackie Chan really quick. And Wesley Snipes made it as an action star. So it can't all be racism.
@@mr.mediocregamer9653 pre-woke Hollywood there was only room for a few token black actors in each category. For example, Queen Latifah was the funny black woman and got all those roles.
Before streaming lots of black communities wouldn't go to the movies regularly due to price, they would buy cheap pirated VHS tapes on the street for five dollars. There used to be a huge street business selling VHS tapes of recent movies -- that pirate industry has disappeared mostly with streaming. Today, there are way more black people paying for streaming services than they ever did going to the movies, so there's more products made for paying black customers.
Jackie Chan filled a token role imo. However, he's also a producer/filmmaker so he could make his own path without having to rely on others picking him among a field of actors. But you're right he's a rarity.
@@u235u235u235 Oh sure, that's why Wesley Snipes, Will Smith or Denzel Washington became huge stars during the same time.
@@mr.mediocregamer9653 MJW refused to put on a dress
Jax vs Johnny Cage
More like Frank Dux vs Spawn
Johnny Cage wins... Brutality
No that’s definitely Geras vs. Johnny Cage rewatch!
@@Walash007 yes exactly, memories 😢💯
Jax vs guile lol
These two put on a freaking martial arts mastery show. Good stuff.
If avenger was done in the 90's. Michael Jai White would be black panther 😊✌
No.
I think he would've been The Perfect Killmonger to Wesley Snipes' Black Panther
@@MrLobo1024 Yes.
THATS TRUE BUT MICHAEL JAI WHITE IS THE REAL LIFE BLACK PANTHER HE HAS THE MARTIAL ARTS BACKGROUND AND HES A REAL LIFE KING IN GHANA ZING RHANES WOULD BEEN A KILLIMOGER TO MICHAEL JAI WHITE'S BLACK PANTHER 😊
He was Spawn
02:37 that kick is just a thing of beauty ❤🔥🔥
My favourite kick😊
That’s Michael Jai White’s signature move,
it’s called the “Psycho Kick”.
You read my mind
Fun fact- Michael Jai White actually messed up the kick and corrected it in mid-air. I think he said that in a interview somewhere or behind the scene footage
@@EmaSkyeLover42false. He literally made this his staple kick loooong before this movie movie was even a thought
Michael Jai White would've been a badass Tombstone for a Spider-Man film.
Dude I was just about to say that, I accidentally scrolled up and saw this comment, his look here and tone of his voice, he would of been a good tombstone.
@Nick Yes, he would've been perfect Tombstone for the Tobey Maguire Spidey version.
@@MrLobo1024 such a missed opportunity.
Nah he should have been bushmaster in the mcu
@@ShayClark-yu5pl Bushmaster from Luke Cage? No. The guy who played was really good.
Seth is the second Black villain to get frozen in an action film. First one was Simon Phoenix in Demolition Man.
@snowwhitever2 John Spartan: "Heads up"
@snowwhitever2 Yep and Stallone wanted Jackie Chan as Simon Phoenix.
Here's another one: Subzero rips Jax arms off as he freezes them.
@@puppylove3781 Michael would play a GREAT Jax role.
@@CarlosXPhone He already did
Michael Jai White An Actual living legend and an underrated actor definitely deserves the top spot☝🏼🔥

Ofcourse
@@cptpepper7731 tak wszystkim piszesz?? zjebem jesteś podstawiam
Nothing underrated about him as an actor. More overrated still.
He's not underrated, he just can't act LOL
Good old 90's style fight choreography, where getting hit hard enough to send you flying 20 feet across the room straight through glass over and over again for 5 minutes straight doesn't leave so much as a single bruise, scratch, or ruffled hair on your head.
Clothes only burning up or tearing only if you have to show off your physique
universal soldier has regeneration ability, did you actually watch and read the context?i guess so😂
Siempre superior al cgi horrible de estos tiempos
@@KEEPMYiNYUSWTCHUT Luc is human in this particular movie. So he is not healing anything... How did the regeneration affect the finely combed air?
They're supposed to be like Super soldiers like a Captain America, so, that's why they don't bruise up or scratch easily.😆 A punch or kick from them is supposed to send you flying 20 feet!😆 As for Van Damme finely combed hair throughout the fight, his Super stylist was always right there beside him, you just couldn't see them because they were invisble. Jai White's hair doesn't move because of the obvious, Super Fro.😆
The moral of this fight scene is 'lets see who can kick who through the glass more efficiently' 😂
Jean Claude Van Damme vs Michael Jai White fight scene is so cool and amazing. I love the fight scene between the hero and the villain.
The first movie I saw with Michael Jai White, then I became a huge fan.
In my humble opinion he is one of the best Martial Artist and Action Actor in nowadays, but a little underrated.
I loved him in Universal Solider, Spawn, Dark Knight and Blood Bone.
Man that side scissor kick at 2.38 its amazing ! He used that move in Blood and Bone to.
That last kick...Van Damme just has to do it😅..love it
MICHAEL JAI WHITE IS THE REAL BLACK PANTHER 👊 AND VANNE DAMME IS THE REAL LIFE JOHNNY CAGE 😊 👊
Yep 👍
Jai played Jax in a short MK series
1:06, when your Dad finds you still on the computer with none of the chores done.
😂😂

😂😂😂
xd
This movie was awesome. A box office failure. But i loved it. I think it's underrated.

No one mentioned how insane that kick at 2:38 is?
Facts because wtf was that 😳
Thats Jai's identity
Basically his signature kick, he does it in Blood & Bone as well
Yes it was. I had to rewatch it in slow motion.
I replayed it 10 times just to admire how good it is
The science fiction aspect of UNIVERSAL SOLDIER had so much potential, it could have been a gold mine. Could have been the first Halo type story line.
Gonna tell my kids this is Jax vs Johnny Cage.
good one
One played his character, the other inspired his character
Jax vs. Guile
@@kaybiggWell technically Van Damme is in MK1
@@Desh681 That's what I said, Jai White played Jax in 2010, and Van Damme inspired Johnny Cage's character in MK
Jai White purnished him professionally 😊
Michael Jay White's got one of the best muscular physiques in film history
He was absolutely massive in Undisputed 2, I don’t think he ever looked bigger than he did in that movie.
MJW expression in this scene is perfect villain
Mjw is always awesome
yea, reminds me of Bolo Yeung
This is how I imagine the terminator would be like if he was a martial artist, and just like the terminator, he got the freeze treatment.
IF T800 know karate then kyle / Sarah WILL be terminated definitely
Lol the nostalgia. Movies have come a long way. Clean choreography tho
S.E.T.H. (Michael Jai White) was such a terrifying enemy. He was the highlight of the movie for me.
2:18 that signature kick never disappoints
True but 2:37 was better
@@Orlandojones327FACTS 😊
Now this is black Superman
2:36
Never seen before Jump Kick until seen in this Movie. Absolutely Phenomenal Body Control.
“That doesn’t work, you tried that already” 😂😂😂😂
Sounds like something from a point & click adventure game.
Michael Jai White had a brief appearance in the Vietnam opening scene in the first film.
I always love this movie ❤
Michael Jai White is that dude!! He has a good career. Black Dynamite is classic!!
Never even knew they both played in the same movie.
U must've been born yesterday.
Я вообще первый раз это вижу
@@H.K.5 wrong, MJW was also in the first Universal Soldier movie. Only a very minor part
@@VanIyke I´m finding out today and I´m 46 years old.
Mike's has In Deed been around!!! High props for Van Damm using Mike Way back then!!!
Michael jai white should be much bigger than jcvd. He is a phenomenal fighter
Both are underrated actors
Awesome these two legends got to have an awesome scene together!
Jai White moves and speaks like an actual cyborg 🔥 😊
Two proper martial artists👍
THIS is the guy who SHOULD'VE played Blade!
Change my mind.
Nah. I like Wesley Snipes as Blade. MJW should be Black Panther not Chadwick's version. Disney would've cut his fight scenes out for joke scenes. Nah! 90S BLACK PANTHER
True but wesley was the bigger star and marvel needed the star power to get up from the dirt
Or the 1st Black Panther
Jean-Claude Van Damme and Michael Jai White are as legit as they come. They are both excellent martial artists. I don't understand why they used so many camera cuts for the fight sequences. These two could have pulled off long uncut scenes with ease.
EXACTLY
Maybe Jackie Chan
This movie was my guilty pleasure
3:46 best combos. I don't care what fans say: I liked this one!!
one of the things i really wanted to see more is michael in more movies. he had the potential to play in many movies of action.
And he has.
@@DHeartX i've seen them all but he had a wild out of the business
@@Eli9A Which one would you say is his best one so far?
@@DHeartX by favorite is blood and bone
Them flawless clean ass defense blocks tho. If only only we can block attacks that way in real life 😂.
Lyoto Machida in his prime used to knock dudes on their ass by intercepting punches that came in just a bit too wide with one hand and blasting them on the chin with the other. It's not impossible, though for the vast majority of fighters it probably is less practical than bobbing/weaving/slipping/covering up/etc.
Michael Jai White is a Marvelous Martial Artist. Enough said.
Michael Jia White should have been the next Black Panther.
You know I've thought this 100 times but seeing someone else actually saying it online makes it real. Ur right
That was one hell of a fight scene between two great martial artists***
Michael jay white , scott adkins , donnie yen, the best fight movie actor ever
Saw this in theaters as kid. Happy memories
facts
I had no idea there was a movie where they fight each other. This is as awesome and fun as I could have imagined.
You should watch the whole movie, it's a worthy sequel to the original.
I wish mortal Kombat 1 could have use Michael jai white for Jax
At least he played Jax in the 2011 mini serie.

@@raymondjones5909Disappointed 😞
02:37 One of the most badass kicks I've ever seen.
Seth es como un jefe final de videojuego, sus frases epicas, sus golpes teatrales. Y siempre avanza hacia el protagonista.
“How many panes of glass do you want to break?”
“Yes”
the set up, the turn, the kick were really all MAIN SCENES IN ANY VAN-DAM MOVIE
2:36 haha the same kick in the movie Blood & bone when bone finish the guy "hammerman" with this kick 😁🤩💪
Man Jean Claude was extremely underrated
2:14 Lmaoo! Those 3 backhands are still funny as hell. 😂😂😂
These two guys had the best kicks ever
5:18 pause… somebody cast this man for Tombstone in the next Spider-Man movie, please🔥🔥🔥
Michael Jai White is a legend bruh
They spent half the movie budget on glass 😁
Did anyone else hear "FATALITY!" when he kicked him?
"Finish him!"
2:51 I remember my youngest brother cracking up- saying that he looks like jamie foxx in that very quick shot of him frozen. 😂
Ahh... Universal Soldier: The Return... The movie where EVERYONE wearing a white shirt gets their asses kicked royally.
MJW always?had a nice voice for voice acting
Michael Jai White has some great interviews about being an actor in movies and his perspective about life. I'm a fan.
His "how to jab" video while teaching Kimbo Slice (R.I.P.) is definitely the truth. My background is as a saber fencer and martial artist. MJW was 100% correct that many, many fighters don't attack properly.
@@Novastar.SaberCombatu7
Jcvd couldn't even beat him he needed a weapon lol Micheal Jai white is ruthless
MJW is a machine
Man.. when Jai kicked that deck chair at him, I thought it was all over!! 🙄😁
2:00 the NCC1701 is a straight up Star Trek reference and I love it 😂.
Michael Jai White has it all, martial arts, kicking people, punching people, errr, martial arts.
Yes that was a joke that he can't act.
He’s a solid actor tbf, he’s not Denzel level or anything but he’s good enough.
This was gold two of my favorite martial art actors against each other in there prime 🔥🔥
This one was better than the first one 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is why Hollywood is afraid for, Black men rising back up in action movies, they would DOMINATE! Jai White has been held back for years like Wesley Snipes. We don't live in a decade now, where masculine, straight, mature Black men can fight on the big screen. How sad.
The Equalizer series?
Happy Birthday " Seth" Michael Jai White!!!!!❤❤❤
if there was no chairs, no weapon, no laser and no ice Jean Claude Van Damme would never have any chance to beat Michael Jai White even 1 percent.
If there was no age gap, Michael Jai white would never have any chance to beat Jean Claude van Damme!
So Jean Claude would beat Michael if they fought in any room with furniture 🤔
@@MKD1101 uhhh jean Claude is not a real martial artist. MJW is.
@@MKD1101 dumb comment.
@@truegrit9202 Van Damme was an 80s European Kickboxing champion..... but yes White has more black belts and is also trained in grappling. but that's because of different eras of martial arts......
Michael Jai White "You did that, already!!!"
always cracks me up.
I love his fight moves Michael jai white
I saw this scene as a kid, but why did it feel different? In my childhood memory, this scene looked more realistic, especially when Van Damme kicked and shattered the bad guy.
MJW needs to do one film as Blade and show us how its done. If Wesley Snipes can do fight scenes then.. MJW: hold my beer
Two legends making an iconic scene
That kick of MJ WHITE…i cannot forget ❤❤❤❤
I never knew Michael and Jean did a movie together. I'm have to check this one out. Thanks 👍
WE NEED HIM TO BE IN EXPENDABLES!!!
He took old
Before Marvel gave us superheroes, MJW gave us a surreal character
The first time i've seen this scene as a kid, i was asking myself : "Who is that black man who's beating the shit out of Jean-Claude Van Damme so easily ?"
Michael Jai White and Van Damme are to my favorite martial artist of all time they're both beast mode to me 💪💪💪💪
Jaiwhite has the better technique and better actor
I remember watching this scene in Universal Soldier like it was yesterday and it was a good fight but honestly, in terms of fitness and overall skills Michael had the upper hand, the only reason Jean Claude won was because the movie needed him to, he was the star and Seth was the rogue computer system they created that Michael was playing as.
3:45 This sequence is better than mist fight scenes today.
Wow love Universal Soldier the return and amazing fight scene too 💪💪
Michael Jai White, excelente interpretación como villano..
😎🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Imagine if the programme had continued, but in the hands of the good guys - how advanced it would be today. As mentioned in the film, the technology used on Vaddam's character in *Universal Soldier* was prehistoric. In contrast, the technology used in this movie to reanimate soldiers was incredible, making them practically immortal. Now, just imagine another fifty years of progress.
This was my favorite scene in the movie. I remember being impressed by Luc's inability to defeat SETH. SETH seemed stronger, better, faster and invulnerable. Of course Luc won in the end, but I remember rooting for the super villain.
Michael gives me Jiren vibes in this scene 😅
Never new that was Jai White til now
I like seeing movie where AI is literally negotiating with Human lol 😂
