I find embellishments the hardest to organize... the variety, bulkiness and volume can all be overwhelming. But today I am going to tackle this bin.

Makin’ progress, excellent!
Bit by bit. 😁~Melanie
I like your process of breaking down the process.
Glad you enjoyed Julie ~Melanie
Awesome organizing! Oh yes, embellishments I have been organizing mine for days and days! I organize by theme and by color and by type! So many decisions! 😀❤
That’s what I’m trying to do too. It is going to be a multi staged process I think. ~Melanie
I swear, the second I saw that pile of embellishments, my brain shut down. I am dreading mine so bad. And then you worked through it relatively quickly. Maybe I just need to tackle it.
It was definitely something I made into a bigger deal than it ended up being. Sometimes I set a timer for something want to do and say I only have to work on it for 15 min. Then if I still don’t want to do it I can quit. Most time so end up continuing. But man… getting started is the hardest. Good luck 😁~Melanie
"assuming I can get in to the closet" made me laugh and I can relate...sometimes there's a sequence that has to be done. great job! I'm working through some things like this today. One counter is clear! 💙💙💙
Just keeping it real! Good job in your progress! ~Melanie
Keeping things organized in the craft room is a constant struggle. My focus this year is to try to use up stuff.
Using stuff up is a great organization tool. I’ve been focusing on trying to use stuff up too… now I also need to focus on not buying more 🤔~Melanie
I wish I could craft at the same time I organize. I just don’t have the room for both. Besides, I don’t multi task so well. 😁. I have been doing well with putting ephemera away when I get a small pile. I have cut way back on my spending. No room to store things. It has to be a big discount or free before I put anything more in my room. 😂. I miss shopping, though.
I think you did a great job managing what you dread doing. You have tenacity and dedication. Those are great qualities to have. I look at your room, during organizing, as organized chaos. It never looks as bad as you think it does. Are you planning a room tour after you’re done?
Keep up the great work. The end is in sight.
I don’t know about the room tour. I never feel it is in “good enough” shape to do one. Maybe I just have to give up that idea and just do it… 🤔. Always appreciate your encouragement. ~Melanie
I agree that organizing embellishments given the variety (type, size, etc.) is difficult. With that said, you did a GREAT job!!! Enoy the rest of the weekend!!!
Thanks Kathleen. You nailed the issue right there. ~Melanie
Good job on the sorting. Sometimes these embellishments are the hardest because of all the different sizes. And you don’t want to let it go til you use up the paper either.
Yes the different sizes and different types and so many pieces. And I swear they multiply! ~Melanie
Love this video! I’ve been organizing and purging my embellishments the past year (and not my paper lol) and have it at a point I’m ok with it. I know what I have (still too much) but am using them up much faster than before. Your enamel dot collection…. Heavenly. Loved that sight lol good for you for tackling a less fun area, more progress! Go Melanie!
That’s awesome that you made it to that point. I think this will be my year to start going through my embellishments. This is a start. I love the way I have my enamel dots stored. It took a little time to get it there but it’s so easy now to find what I need for a project. Are you taking in any other organization projects this year? ~Melanie
@@ACreativelyCraftedLife I do love how you have your enamel dots stored and may give it a try. What did you stick them on? As for organizing this year, February is focusing on cards. I have literally a couple hundred in various states of completion that I need to finish and donate. Next is everything else that doesn’t fit in my drawers or cubbies. I have some stuff on the floor and other stuff on the counter top and I’d love to get my counter top back and actually use it. Lots to do this year. You certainly aren’t alone.
I just used a quarter sheet of cardstock. I then trim the dots into strips (so kept the plastic backing on. Then added some ATG tape in the back and adhered to cardstock panel. I didn’t want to pull them all off and transfer to some other carrier sheet as I found they don’t often restick as well. So far this has worked. The nice thing about having cards started is once you get going you should have a nice stack of completed cards pretty quickly.
My bin, like yours, is out and ready for the macro sort. Now I can see why your themed containers are so important!
I live micro organizing but I have to be in the right mood. Some days the macro organizing is good enough. ~Melanie
I love enamel dots but I don’t find enough reasons to use them so I cleared them out and only kept ones I loved or are new packs still. The rest I left in my free little library and someone took it .
I love that you recognize that they aren’t a key supply for you and down sized accordingly. I have been pretty much only using them on scrapbook layouts. For some odd reason they felt too “precious” to use in cards. No tar why as I clearly have a surplus. So I think I will try and use them on cards as well and that should help. ~Melanie
