UPDATED COMMENT: because of this excellent video I purchased 2 of these cook kits. 1 for me and 1 for my husband. They are PERFECT for quick overnights van camping, fishing, motocycle rides, and boating. They work and pack great with a pocket rocket 2 (without case) or a Evernew alchohol burner. I bought mine at Dick's Sporting Goods. Extremely pleased with this powerhouse of a cook kit. Well worth every penny.
An update to my older update: I now own 4 of these little Stanley Compact cooksets. I know... yes, fell in love with them so now I have 2 for the Vespa scooters... and 2 more for the Motorcoach and Kayaking. One thing about owning several sets is having enough of them to share while camping or Kayaking with friends. 4 kits, 4 Canister-style stoves and everyone can cook whatever they choose, whenever they choose. Simple, easy-going wild camping. Stanley always does it right ✅ 👏 BRAVO
@@savagewolf1966 No, it DOES NOT fit it. I have been looking for something, even if modified, will fit it. I currently use a small stainless steel saucer (food grade) on it and use a gripper or pliers to remove it when I need a metal lid. I made a small air vent hole on each side of the saucer to guard against boil overs. That is my workaround for now. If I do find an actual lid that fits, I'll post that and a photo for sure 👍.
I loved how you explained every little detail. You didn't rush through it either, super nice. No loud blast of background music either, very good, especially for all of us who wear earbuds. Because of your excellent presentation I quickly hit the Subscribe Button. 🥰. About the Stanley, I am seriously considering two of them. Husband and I Vespa Scooter ride. Sometimes do an overnight or two if we enjoy the area's offerings. That little cookset would be perfect for that and for short day hikes. I checked around the web and they are still being offered after over two plus years. That alone speaks well for the kit and it's uses. Thanks again for a great, detailed showcasing of this fine Stanley product. 😎 Very😎
God bless you, I just found what I was looking for. I fry and cook a lot when camping, will get their pan set but this is so so good for boiling water and having noodles and tea
STELLAR Review Sir! You covered all the bases and then some. When you said "is it big enough to really cook in," I was thinking, "hmmmmm, maybe some Mountain House and a mug of hot chocolate." Dang dude!! Fried chicken?! You are the MAN!! Thanks for a great video!
In my opinion this is one of the most impressive sets Stanley has released. A lot of bushcrafters have rejected this set because of the plastic lid. Over a stove this is not a problem. The material used is nylon which is specifically chosen for high heat applications. As a solo backpacking set it is very practical. The one thing I've noted by experience is that when you go to wash the mug/bowl remove the neoprene sleeve so that it doesn't get wet. For prolonged use one might want to remove the sleeve altogether when packing the pot up. Keep in mind however clean or dirty it is it's inside your clean pot.
Thereal111t you might be right I'm not sure but I no the plastic handle on my Stanley adventure cook set melted off pretty fast. Thanks and have great day
Just started viewing your channel, great information and the presentation (not the meal, although I am thinking chicken for supper!!) of your video great job! The Best from Maine.
Great video! A suggestion to Stanley (which I'm not sure how to do... :P ) Would be to incorporate a P-38 style opener or a can opener of some type to the butt end of the spork gizmo. I feel that would really up the game for Stanley! Looks like a great piece of kit none the less!! Thanks again for yer review!
Now you got me wanting one of those kits. I got the smaller Stanley. You got that right, fried chicken skin is the best part, might be better than fried Spam. Thanks for sharing!
Man O Man my mouth was a watering and I just ate!!!! I never saw anyone ever cook whole big pieces of chicken in a small pot like that. This set is Great.
Thanks for the video and the sweet 'how to deep fry chicken' demo! 👍👍👍 I own & use the Stanley adventure cook set. From a European point of view Stanley would have a much greater appeal if they added some markings for regular metric volume measures. 1dl, 2dl, 3dl etc. I don't mind the imperial marks, but for me they are of little use.
Thanks for showing the temp at 165 degrees F. I was wondering. Hate when the meat is not fully cooked on the inside, and burnt on the outside, due to temp being too high. Now I know where to gauge it.
Great video shows is it real or not. Informative factual and very generous of your knowledge and time. First time watching you and if I remember right I think I seen a reloader slash powder dump on your bench. Look forward to seeing future videos for me your past videos of a future for me thanks very much.
Nice looking kit there brother I have the adventure kit I like pretty well I swear they made this one there cause we all made the H20 kits with the Condor packs LoL great video brotha thanks for sharing
Hello jujitsu2000! I had a subscriber ask me about the possible ways the mountain compact kit might be compatible with the adventure cup kit. For example does the adventure cup fit inside the large plastic mug? (I’m pretty sure it’d fit inside the mountain compact steel pot) Unfortunately I do not own an adventure cup. Can you help? Thanks!
Tell me about that stove it looks very sturdy and I lie the fact it does not attach direct to top of butane bottle but hooks up via a remote hose from stove to butane bottle who makes all that and where is it available
Thanks for an excellent review and successful cooking op! I would like to ask you if the Nalgene 1 liter bottle will nest inside the metal cooking vessel?
I'd like to see if that smaller Stanley Adventure Camp Cook set( the one with 2 green cups) nests with this in some way. Same with the small and large GSI stainless cups. Same with that Nalgene or 40 oz Kleen canteen. What nests?
+Duke Makedo excellent question I just finished a video with the Stanley Mountain series and the Stanley Adventure cook set showing some nesting options
Thank you, but I was meaning that smaller, skinny , 24oz Stanley Adventure Camp. I think it might nest into tall GSI cup. And that assembly might slip into the Mountain Compact. And how would a Kleen canteen or Nalgene fit into the Mountain Compact. I THINK that I looked thru your videos, but didn't find any that answered those questions. Am just wondering. It's not a biggie.
You train Jiu Jitsu? I trained about 10 years. I took a long break and been thinking about starting again. I got my purple belt about 4 or 5 years ago. Don't really have a desire to go again but I bet if I go I'll get stoked to go again. Thanks for the video. Aloha from Hawaii!
Interesting; I've never seen this version before. On the one I bought they made the lid stainless steel but kept the plastic tab, changed the one big cup into two smaller cups, and took away the folding spork 🙁. $14.
Thanks for video my friend I'm just wondering if the lid is gonna melt like the handles do on the Adventure cook set does? What's your thought on this? Thanks for sharing great video and god bless you my friend
brianj123458 thank you my brother you got a valid point about that thing melting. The cup is very nice with this set however I like the Stanley camp and cook set better if you want a smaller sized one
That's nice. I still jabe the one I got from Jason in the surprise gaw 2 Christmas ago I like it. I still haven't got the cook set I did buy me a red set I really wanted red dishes. But guess I have to get green not many red I've found. But I like stanly always have. But that's to cool. I'll check it out if it hits Walmart here. Sorry I've missed so many vidoes. Been sick now may have hip surgery if they can fix. So I'm scared. But I'm still trying to have yard sales selling stuff then making my vidoes which people like for some reason lol. But I'm gonna try to catch up on some of yours. But really like that little set that for sharing god bless
Yea that's why I want a set but bigger set so when I'm out fishing with my daughter and others I can fry fish right after we catch. I'm glad you buy or get all of these to test and share. Thank you. God bless
With this pot having a vented lid, do you find it hard to cook the traditional vacuum sealed meals that require the water to sit and absorb in a sealed pouch or closed lid?
I carry a folded up square piece of aluminum foil with me. Put it directly under the lid top and then put the lid back on the pot to let things steep when off the burner. Works great for all of the STANLEY vented lids too. 👍
To replace the plastic lid, my cats stainless food bowl fits perfectly over the top and doubles as a pan. Walmart pet aisle special lmao. Maybe petco? Gotta get creative sometimes I suppose? :p
I wonder if all the Stanley cups stuff could fit together make it one big deal with all the handles to him inside the pot and maybe the small can of fuel in the in the burner top you should try that make a video see if everything that Stanley has for The backpacker as far as that cooker the other pot that you have with all the other stuff and see what you can fit together and make an interesting video later
Hell with the cookset! whats your fried chicken technique??? I cant make chicken look like that when Im in my kitchen lol! Great videos by the way, Thanks much!
Yeah they've up their game a little bit I need to take a look and see what their new stuff like it looks like and maybe I can share it with everybody. Thank you,, blessings from Arizona!

That fried chicken is the COOLEST thing I have ever seen with camp cookware! Thank You!

Thereal111t Thank you! I really like this set but I think I like the Stanley cook and store set better for the smaller sets
Thereal111t I really like the cup in this set though
great video the cooking demonstration has blown my mind fantastic !
Just started viewing your channel, great information and the presentation (not the meal, although I am thinking chicken for supper!!) of your video great job! The Best from Maine.
Very cool, Stanley always makes great stuff. Now I have to pick one up :)
Iridium242 thank you I'm really enjoying Stanley sets as well. My favorite set so far by long shot is the base camp cook set
Very thorough (and mouth-watering) video!
Oooooh that chicken looks good. No idea it could be cooked like that. Great video man.

Calvin's Corner72 Thank you brotha! That chicken was delicious. The only outside I've had is sometimes the oil overflows. LOL
Thanks for the video and the sweet 'how to deep fry chicken' demo! 👍👍👍

Thank you for your review, I will get one now
You do the best reviews !!!!!
Thank you!
Stanley makes great stuff. I wish they would make a Mors pot!
Got it, love Stanley stuff, use the gear from Stanley for car camping.
Great review. 👍
Wil Standridge Thank you! I'm a firm believer in Stanley products

Thank you! I have a reloading / casting playlist. :-)
Nice looking kit there brother I have the adventure kit I like pretty well I swear they made this one there cause we all made the H20 kits with the Condor packs LoL great video brotha thanks for sharing
Plumpy E thank you my brother this is an excellent little pot, but I think I like the cook and store set better
Great video.
Will the 100 gram gas canister fit inside the plastic cup?
Is the banks removable? Curious about nesting other bottles and carrying the interior part of the cup in another part of the pack.
It's good that I had time to have breakfast))
Great video!
mayor2611 Thank you! Yummy
Have you checked whether the lid of the children's Ikea kit ("Duktig") is suitable for this set? The Ikea lid has a diameter of about 12 cm.
Looks real good. Thanks for showing us. I think I want some chicken now. Take care.
Hello jujitsu2000! I had a subscriber ask me about the possible ways the mountain compact kit might be compatible with the adventure cup kit. For example does the adventure cup fit inside the large plastic mug? (I’m pretty sure it’d fit inside the mountain compact steel pot)

+Thereal111t Absolutely brotha! I'll shoot a video tomorrow! Thank you for thinking of me. :-)
Great demo, thanks and take care.
Would the DZO Universal lid work on this?
Does the Nalgene bottle fit down into the plastic inner bottle ?
Does this pot is insulated, does that cup inside it will insulate the pot?
Tell me about that stove it looks very sturdy and I lie the fact it does not attach direct to top of butane bottle but hooks up via a remote hose from stove to butane bottle who makes all that and where is it available
Well done, great video!!!!!
Thanks for an excellent review and successful cooking op! I would like to ask you if the Nalgene 1 liter bottle will nest inside the metal cooking vessel?
Thank you! Yes a 32 ounce Nalgene will fit. :-)
Cool. Many thanks.
nice vid interisted in the cook set but what stove did you use
Will the lid of the adventure cooker fit this?
Nice video. What stove are you using?

Interesting; I've never seen this version before. On the one I bought they made the lid stainless steel but kept the plastic tab, changed the one big cup into two smaller cups, and took away the folding spork 🙁. $14.
Perktube1 the one you get is a different model than the one featured in this video
My old 1 with the stainless lid is great.
I noticed they said melt resistant lid, Im sure that will be the weak point!!
The set is cool though
Thanks for video my friend I'm just wondering if the lid is gonna melt like the handles do on the Adventure cook set does? What's your thought on this? Thanks for sharing great video and god bless you my friend
brianj123458 thank you my brother you got a valid point about that thing melting. The cup is very nice with this set however I like the Stanley camp and cook set better if you want a smaller sized one
brianj123458 God bless
For those watching in early 2022, Menards is selling this on clearance for $14.99. Can't beat it at that price.
Can use it it on flame with cup inside pot
What is that stove your cooking on???
That's nice. I still jabe the one I got from Jason in the surprise gaw 2 Christmas ago I like it. I still haven't got the cook set I did buy me a red set I really wanted red dishes. That chicken looks so good 😊
Man, stanley is taking the market by storm, bang for buck on what you get for sure. I think they are eeally goin to start puttin the hurt on msr
Green bowl cookin!
Bearded Seabee 82 Thank you brotha, that's a valid point. Good thing i like both!
+Bearded Seabee 82 absolutely!
With this pot having a vented lid, do you find it hard to cook the traditional vacuum sealed meals that require the water to sit and absorb in a sealed pouch or closed lid?
Alison Esposito no I do not
Carry a small strip of foil, cover holes.
I carry a folded up square piece of aluminum foil with me. Put it directly under the lid top and then put the lid back on the pot to let things steep when off the burner. Works great for all of the STANLEY vented lids too. 👍
Nice kit
To replace the plastic lid, my cats stainless food bowl fits perfectly over the top and doubles as a pan. Walmart pet aisle special lmao. Maybe petco? Gotta get creative sometimes I suppose? :p
Thank you!
At no point in this video did I think you would fry some chicken in the pot. Amazing 👌
Very nice man
Very Cool!
leigh shahan Thank you, I like it
That tea bag sure looks like a gallon size, but I leave room to be wrong. Nice review.
Is this light or heavy??
Stanley was insane to put those indentations inside the plastic cup. Imagine trying to clean oatmeal or mashed potatoes out of it.
I totally want your batter recipe. ..PLEASE ;-)
1 cup flour with a packet of dry ranch mix... ;-)
Dope! thx bruh !
Recipe for your batter? Or is it a secret?
Patrick Ploenzke the batter for this chicken was very simple it was one cup of all purpose flour with 1 tablespoon of dry ranch
Just double dip it in the egg and Flour.
you may or may not see this being such an old video, but do you remember how much oil you used? (roughly)
Thank you.
+Jim Ferebee thank you
nice one!
robin6512 Thank you! It's solid
it's hard for me to see this much more than a coffee system. still useful for noodles, etc, though.
venas m what kind of 7 course meal you cooking in the woods that you need a bigger cookware?
The claim on the box says it nests a fuel canister. Would have been nice to see that.
32 ounces is okay. I tested it with 34, brought it to a boil, and it was fine.
I would like to buy your Cook and Store pot)
if you need to fix position of key ring, start undoing it from lid. the spring of the ring will fix the position
Do you know if a 32oz nalgene bottle will fit inside this?
Dave I'll go check real quick...
Dave I just checked and it will fit inside the pot and also inside the cup
and the cup too amazing thanks
Dave you're welcome friend
Hell with the cookset! whats your fried chicken technique??? I cant make chicken look like that when Im in my kitchen lol! Great videos by the way, Thanks much!
I have some fried chicken video's
My amazon kindle fire actually turned handle into banks.
Yummy fried chicken !
It was delicious!
I think STanley has changed some things since you made this video. Now the lid is metal, rather than plastic.
Yeah they've up their game a little bit I need to take a look and see what their new stuff like it looks like and maybe I can share it with everybody. Thank you,, blessings from Arizona!
I'm going to camp make some chicken now.
we all love a good piece of skin
shes beefy just right friendly budget price
That was good looking chicken...made me hungry...not nice to eat in front of people...lol!
In other words grouse here I come. Grubbin boy!!!
I like it very much, $30.00 bit much
Looks great but I don't think it's worth $42. That's more than triple their other cook set.
❤👈🇩🇪✔✔✔
Lost my spork😢
Leave the plastic out!
