I'm so happy I was there to witness this card live. The build up and emotions were on a level i've never seen leading up to a Ufc event. Paid for nosebleed seats and snuck down and ended up sitting 10 rows behind Joe Rogan's scalp. The chaos that followed this fight ended up in the stands. Leaving the arena I saw 3 russian dudes with Khabib hats, standing back to back while atleast 15 irish dudes ran in to try to punch them. And there were fights throughout the night in different casinos.

I rewatch this over and over and over and become more and more certain that Connor wasn’t feeling his corner. He was lazily following their help because not only was he so fatigued from the beating and khabib wearing him out, it was just petty help.
His corner was shouting unhelpful shit that he knew his heart wasn’t even in. Connors confidence to follow his corners advice was just fool worthy given how hard khabib was coming at him. The pressure stemming from khabib just shattered any advice he’d have been given from his corner. And that’s fact

We’re hardwired to be lazy, it takes so much effort to spend every second devoted to a single goal, to never take a break, to never say “I’m going to take a 5 minute longer shower” or “I’ll come in 15 later to training, I’m exhausted”. But if you achieve that thing about how much more time you have had to prepare.

Just by watching at his team's reaction, you can understand how personal all of it was. His friend literally screamed "fuckin kill him! Kill him!". Sometimes you really shouldn't cross such lines as insulting someone's religion, family and nation. Conor never knew when to stop because none in him opinion could make him stop. Fortunately tho, and I'm really happy Khabib won. I mean no matter how much I like watching Conor's fights, I will never be on the side of someone acting so disrespectful and pitiful towards his opponent. Even if it all was made for show and money, there is still a critical line you should never cross. Just like many and many other people Conor had to understand this in hard way.

I love Khabib's style of fighting. Ground and pound mixed with ground and submission. To me this is the best way to fight since so few people are adept at fighting this way on the ground, once you take them down they don't know what to do. Everyone wants to stand up and fight/box but to me that's just dumb. If my opponent's weight is in the range where I can get them down on the ground then I'm going to do so. I've been in probably 20-25 fights in my life, only 2 or 3 were where the person's friend jumped in to help them, that's the only danger with taking a street fight to the ground, while you got them in an arm bar, leg lock, or rear naked choke you could get stomped on or jumped. Luckily that never really happened to me, they were idiots and just threw a couple weak punches at me on the ground instead of using their legs lol. But I always took every fight to the ground and used wrestling skills/footwork to get on top of them and ground and pound. I loved fighting that way. I wish I would have taken fighting more seriously and devoted more time to it because I both had a knack for it and enjoyed the technical challenge of it. I was very very good in fights vs anyone smaller, the same weight as me or a few pounds heavier then me. I struggled sometimes in fights where the person had a big size/weight advantage which is normal, that's why they have weight classes in MMA and Boxing. The challenge of taking someone down to the ground though is always fun. I never met anyone my size, smaller than me or only 5-10 pounds heavier then me who I couldn't get down to the ground. Only fight I ever lost was vs someone who had about 35 pounds on me and I couldn't get him down to the ground and another guy who had like 90 pounds on me who I didn't even bother trying to get down to the ground, wasn't really a fair fight weight wise. So in my youth I was somewhere around 19-2 in my street fighting career but 19-0 in my weight division😆. Not quite undefeated like Khabib but I'll take it.
