  • A folk-inspired take on The Jam's "Smithers-Jones"' as an acoustic instrumental. A track from their 1979 album "Setting Sons." They remain one of the most influential bands of modern British Music. The Jam started as a punk band but rapidly evolved to incorporate elements of mod and soul,
Cultural Influence: Their music had a significant impact on the British music scene and inspired countless bands that followed. Their Iconic frontman Paul Weller, (lead singer and guitarist) is considered one of the most influential figures in British music history.
"Smithers-Jones" gave a nod to Beatlesque / Kinks inspired Chamber pop with its string ensemble --giving glimpses of their future sophisticated songwriting path (and Weller's eventual next band, The Style Council)

This is my own improvised reduction/ arrangement performed by me (Chauncey Canfield). I do not own the rights to this composition.

Thanks! The one in view is an Ear Trumpet Labs Delphina model. Great live mic for acoustic instruments. I also use a matched stereo pair of SE Electronics SE8 small diaphragm condensers.
